  1. Hi I wanted to post an update as I've finally found out the root cause of my issue. Weirdly, its my smart watch, disconnect that from my phone and all is good! Hope this helps someone else.

  2. My LS 460L is on 135,000 miles so took the advice on this forum to change the radiator. Looking at the pictures of the old one I'm thinking this was a good shout! Whilst I'm at it, I guess I should be replacing the A/C condenser? or should that be ok? On a side note - TON'S of surface rust and flaky metal below the radiator, only discovered when I removed the sponge / foam that's at the bottom. Surely better to remove this foam and let any condensation dry?

  3. Wow, looks like you caught it just in time! Do they still have the drain tap on the bottom or is that something else that disappeared on later models?

  4. It’s in the owner’s manual, that’s why I’m confused.

  5. A very timely move I think! The AC condenser should be ok, I wouldn't do it unless you have problems. The sponge always falls apart, I left mine off.

  6. Hello all, been lurking here a while now but not really bothered posting as I've had nothing of interest to say really. I acquired the RX450 (Advance I believe) back in August 2018 with 30,800 miles on it. It was actually bought from a local Volkswagen dealership, so I'm assuming they took it as a part exchange on something. It's still only got around 33,500 on it as it's a second car, though I tend not to use them very often nowadays having practically retired. The car's just had it's big 6 year service with my local (Bolton) dealership and is waiting to go back in to them for an intermittent (over 1 year now) non-opening tailgate fault, though that's currently on hold due to the lockdown thing. This fault alone was what decided me to take out the extended 2 year warranty as apparently the new motor alone was over £1,200 without labour. I had a week or so remaining from when I bought the car so it seemed logical to renew it for <£1k OK, intro done, off to browse your forum. 🙂

  9. Managed to find grey Lexus centre wheel caps and wheel nut covers on ebay, so that might improve the look slightly....

  10. is this the way to protect your car at night by placing your keys next to a wireless charger so the signal cannot be detected

  11. Interesting that you say that because this does generally seem quite a chilled forum, I guess that's because so many of us are chuffed with our Japanese purchases!

  12. Members 1 8 posts Name: Martin Lexus Model: Rx400h Year of Lexus: 2005 Location: Other/NonUK Report post Posted April 9 Hi All, Newbie here. I have a 2005 RX 400h with 193,000 on the clock. I have had a strange issue. When pulling up to a junction, braking gently, the engine "stalled" and the braking jerked, like some one had run into the back of me. The check VSC system light came on along with check hybrid system. The car then ran on battery only for a short distance so I pulled over and switched off. I restarted it and then only the "check hybrid" light came. The car then ran as normal, using engine and battery but with the engine management light on as well. After arriving home, I switched off and the started it again 5 minutes later and no lights were on and it ran normally. This happened last week and then exactly the same the other day. My "local" lexus dealer is closed at present and are booked up for all of May so can't get it looked at which is a bit of a worry as my mother is not in good health and I may need to help out and she is 120 miles away. Has anyone had anything similar or any thoughts on what it might be. Thanks in advance. The above is your original text, so lets hope that other members can chip in Martin.

  13. Welcome Martin. Please tell us what the issue is or provide a link to your other post. Are you living in UK or abroad? How long have you owned the car and did you buy it from a Dealer or privately.
