  1. Makes you feel vulnerable doesn't it?! Glad your mum's ok.
  2. Sounds like a good way to make a quick buck from people who believe the conspiracy theories to me!
  3. I've not watched any of this series yet, it's clogging up the Sky+ until I get a chance to sit down and watch a few in one go. Brilliant programme!
  4. I think it's great you took a positive stand - bet you get free chips next time!! The only problem is when the scum do go back at you. My husband and I learnt the hard way. We stood up against some local juvenile delinquents where we used to live and I ended up having my car smashed up, we got abuse, late night knocks at the door and the police wouldn't/couldn't help (in fact they threatened to investigate us!!). We ended up moving...
  5. Group prices are £10pp (payable on the day) and depends on us getting 15 or more people committed to going. Steve, I'll send you the details in case I'm not contactable then.
  6. There's always an exception to the rule Colin - the range on my series II is pants!
  7. I went from an IS200 Sport to a GS300 Sport and was really pleased with my choice. Depends though, if you prefer the size of the IS go for the 300!
  8. Off topic I know - but did she have a boy or a girl Stu and what's the name? Even more off topic, but my due date is the 29th!
  9. If you're interested, I got info from Beaulieu through the post today. Just need to fill in a form and let them know when and for how many...
  10. Pulp Fiction come to mind anyone?!
  11. I couldn't hit a barn door with a splat gun, so I guess I'll just make the teas!
  12. I had a Prelude VTECH before getting an IS200 (we had to sell the Prelude as it's not really suitable for carting kids in). Chopped in the IS200 last year and have had the GS ever since --- lovely cars!
  13. Seconded! I had a helicopter lesson as a present and it was brilliant. I'd like a go in a glider next... If you're set on a driving experience though, have a search on the Net and go direct to the venue rather than a voucher provider like Red Letter Days. I found it was cheaper when I organised rallying for my husband a couple of years back.
  14. :o :o :o Really feel for you mate, don't know what to say apart from I hope the scum get what's coming to them :tsktsk:
  15. Reminds me of a few months back... one of the sales guys at work congratulated me for being pregnant. I looked back at him blankly and said 'I know I've put on weight but that's a bit cruel'. He went pale and stammered lots before I reassured him I was pregnant. Nasty I know, but the look on his face was priceless!!
  16. Call the council for advice. Mention you were delivering to a charity shop and ask if they think the local papers would condone their traffic wardens approach...!
  17. Cautious 'like' verdict from me. I've seen other photos where the back-end doesn't look as good as the current MkII. Will have to wait and see....then wait a very long time before it falls into my price range!!
  18. If you're not worried about the resale value and planning to keep the car for a while, I'd use your local independant. Just do a search on here for what's involved in the 40k service to make sure you get everything covered.
  19. I've got a 99 GS300 Sport and find the range for the alarm/locking about the same - terrible! Interestingly enough though, the boot opening has a wider range....!?!
  20. I'll ignore that comment Bazza (specially as I kerbed my wheel badly driving home from work!) With minor kerb marks, get some fine sandpaper and go over it until it's smooth, then touch up with some silver paint (can buy at Halfords, pen size pots but buy a fine brush too). Once it's dry you can then go over it with a bit of laquer. This works well on minor marks, but anything more serious get refurbed by the professionals.
  21. My mate's given up smoking but now become addicted to the nicotine-gum. She chews about 15-20 a day, but can apparently class herself as a non-smoker!!
  22. My insurance is up for renewal next week and the cheapest I've found so far is Admiral. Unfortunately it's a 10 month policy but the cost savings this time round are worth it for me - works out £620 all-in (legal cover, breakdown cover etc). Next closest was £750 not incl. breakdown cover. I'm 30, 2 years NCB, no sat-nav (if that makes a difference?) and car is garaged.
  23. Hey Bazza, don't worry about doing it again - Steve and Zee are obviously willing to hold your hand and jump with you. For a worthy cause of course...!!!
