  1. I think you have to be careful judging people by what they wear, it's the attitude rather than the attire. I never forget an ex-boyfriend and I were walking back from a night out - he in leathers (was a biker) with tattoos and long hair (I was 16, he was early 20's and every parents nightmare!!). We were following behind a woman who kept looking backwards and kept crossing the road to make sure we weren't following an planning to mug her!!! I was horrified someone could be so intimidated by the way we looked.
  2. Had to take my blue bulbs off the GS - couldn't see where the hell I was going as they didn't throw off enough light. Probably something to do with my tinted windows!
  3. Would have been cheaper!!!! Oh, and I locked my keys in the boot on Friday. I don't think I'll do the lottery this week!!!
  4. When you go through a bad patch it feels like the end of the world. When you get through that patch, you can look back and see how it made you a stronger person. Good luck and chin up
  5. I've just had to pay out for 4 new tyres -- eeek. All had worn on the inside rather than the outside and the chap told me he sees it a lot with the GS. Anyway, Bracknell Tyre & Battery gave a great service - the Dunlop's came in at £129 per tyre, which was about £30 less than the next cheapest place I tried!
  6. Congratulations on the new car - sounds great! Happy motoring!
  7. Think this is, in part, testament to her faith - she apparently has an extremely positive outcome and a great support mechanism. The best of luck to her. They've not said about the fate of her baby yet though have they?
  8. Not particularly weird, but have had ostrich and horse meat. Ostrich was lovely, but wouldn't rush to eat Dobbin again!
  9. There's Jongleurs Comedy Club 0118 959 5395 110-117 Friar St Reading RG1 1EP That's always a good laugh (pun intended)!
  10. ....I spent 3 hours yesterday washing and polishing my mum's Skoda Octavia. It hadn't been washed in over a year and the good old Meguiars brought the paintwork up to a mirror finish. The only problem was that I ran out of time to do mine!!!
  11. What goes around comes around. Tis the only thing that keeps me sane when dealing with idiots!!!
  12. Hopefully it will do. I found the clay really good for cleaning up paintwork before polishing - it made the paintwork as smooth as glass. I've just bought the Scratch-X and 3 stage cleaning/polishing kit from Meguairs, so am hoping that'll make the car look the mutts nuts. My car is sapphire blue, so am hoping for that nice wet-look finish.
  13. Do you really think you're being policed??? C'mon, peeps...everyone knows the Ts & Cs and only stuff that contravenes it is moved or deleted (non-gold members trying to flog stuff etc). No ones got ulterior motives, no one is trying to silence the masses or act as mind police....Sheesh. As for dropping people a PM to say why something's been moved or deleted, I think that's fair enough and is only polite.
  14. I think autos in a smaller car feels a bit weird at first. However, since getting my GS, I doubt I'll go back to a manual - takes a bit of getting used to, but I love it now.
  15. Just joshing with you! I don't like parking my car next to any that has kiddy seats wedged in the back! In fact, one of the many benefits of having kids is that you can park in the wider parent and child spaces. Of course, no one without children would consider taking up these spaces.....perhaps that's another thread!!!!
  16. Mine's been nicknamed the Pimp mobile by people I work with. They then fall about laughing as I am the unlikliest person (they think) to be driving a GS300 with dark tinted windows!
  17. I'm not an optician, but you shouldn't get that feeling for long - odds are that they've given you too strong a prescription. My brother-in-law recently had the same problem, went back for a re-test and they then got it right. Off topic but I've just got my eyes tested... -6.50 in each. I'm officially as blind as a bat. Eek. My glasses really are like bottoms of wine glasses!!!
  18. Oy, don't tar us all with the same brush! :P :D
  19. He makes me laugh! I'm glad not everyone is familiar with how good Lexus is otherwise I'd see more of them on the road than I do now! As for them looking like gangsta cars, my car always turns heads - most people are expecting some street-wise thang with heavy bass blowing out of the stereo, not me and the two kids with Winnie-the-Pooh tunes playing!!!
  20. I didn't know that. I know that on the MkII, if you hold down the lock key, it'll close them all, so I suppose it makes sense. The keys have been on the kitchen worktop, so unless Kieran's been fiddling, nothing's held the button down. Scarface, I've just got Lexus factory fit security on the car, nothing aftermarket.
  21. Just gone out to my car to find all the windows and sunroof open. I left it locked with everything done up. Is this likely to be just a fluke or do I need to be really worried? Luckily it's parked at my home and it's not raining, but I don't like the thought it could go when I'm parked up somewhere else and that I could return to find my car soaking wet and/or my CDs etc pinched
  22. I periodically get dreams which come true. It's never anything of major importance (unfortunately no winning lottery numbers), but more usually a conversation or minor event -- like bumping into people and them saying something I've already dreamt they've said. I don't know about the science bit, but it used to freak me out as a kid. It's something I've got used to now whatever the reason behind it!
  23. Got a personalised plate for my 30th - my age and initials rather than a Lex one though.
