  1. Partly right, it is with an ECU but it's under the bonnet not the glove box :) It's in the black box close to the left side headlamp + washer bottle filler neck. TG
  2. Here's a description of what is meant by offset which may help a bit ... http://www.lexusownersclub.co.uk/forum/index.php?showtopic=11821 I've got 8x18 wheels on my IS200 with 40mm offset and 225/40 tyres with no problems. Lowered a bit on coilovers but not down mega low trying to make tyres disappear into arches. TG
  3. + another 1 on posts since last visit ... TG
  4. Those pedals were sport and not SE along with similar door sills on sport but plastic on SE. Tinted rear screen and rear side windows (with sport emblem I think) on sport but not SE. Sport did have a boot spoiler but don't think it was a raised one like that in 2001. Sport mesh grille was an extra even on the sport model ... Steering wheel - think it's probably sport as on my 2001 SE it's plain black. Obviously some people go to extreme lengths to pretend their SE is a sport Best of luck ... TG
  5. The bit you have there just reaches through from the boot into the cabin above the rear seat arm rest. I guess they all have that - handy for moving lengthy stuff about .. eg skis, fence post perhaps, side skirts maybe ... The ski bag accessory zipped onto that extending the waterproof bag about a metre to between the front seats. TG
  6. I used mine a few times for skis etc ... The item you have for sale is just the standard bit by the look of it. There was a 'bag bit' available to connect to the car side of this to make it ideal for such use. For a minute I thought it might be one of those you had listed ... Oh well never mind TG
  7. I really liked my CRX and kept it nice ... Mk2 version - the nice curvy one with 1.6i 16v engine. ED9 model, D16A9 engine for those that know , not the vtec. Vicki Butler-Henderson popped round with a photographer when she worked at Max Power. It then appeared in the 'readers cars' section of the mag. Ages ago I know as I've just dug it out to check - Oct '93 issue. It's a difficult choice as to which was my favourite, the CRX or the IS200 ... Tried an MR2 turbo (SW20 model) after the CRX. Bought from a Japanese import company in Ireland. Flew there, drove it back and did a personal import. Think I definitely have a preference for Japanese cars B) TG
  8. Looks like Lexus Birmingham dealer still selling them new ... http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=170463281028 TG
  9. Could try these ... http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=380221870476 TG
  10. You generally get some with your Gold membership ... TG
  11. The workshop manual says 50 N.m ( 500 kgf.cm , 36 ft.lbf ) It says tighten the 14 bolts in several passes starting with the middle pair in following sequence .. <<< Front of engine 12 , 8 , 4 , 2 , 5 , 9 , 13 14 , 10 , 6 , 1 , 3 , 7 , 11 Then tighten them a further 90 degrees Hope that helps .. TG
  12. Do you mean this one http://www.lexusownersclub.co.uk/forum/index.php?showtopic=66012 It's in the general club news section ... TG
  13. There was a mini-disc changer option. Added to the original head unit which as mentioned contains the 6 CD changer. I'm guessing that lived where the satnav unit would be if fitted. That's under the boot floor on the right hand side. TG
  14. Probably not. There's a few pinned topics which may be of interest at the top of the 'Wheels & Tyres' section here. http://www.lexusownersclub.co.uk/forum/index.php?showforum=30 Worth a look ... TG
  15. I started using Shell V-power years ago during visits to Germany. Filled up with it on way home just before crossing border into Holland. That was enough to get me home + a bit more. It wasn't available over here then so used Shell Optimax instead. Noticed the difference that car didn't feel as happy running on that. So was pleased when V-Power finally got here and have used it ever since. TG
  16. The TRD front lip is (or was) available from dealer ... Just checked my invoice for part no. 08154-53810 That was 7 years ago and price then was around 140 quid. TG
  17. If you have a look here you can find the entire wiring diagram for the car. www.bahamutcars.com/workshop/IS_98-05/index.html Select 'Electrical Wiring Diagram' on the left hand side. Then below that ... OVERALL ELECTRICAL WIRING DIAGRAM contains instructions of how to read diagrams, colour codes etc. OVERALL ELECTRICAL WIRING DIAGRAM [RHD] / [LHD] as appropriate. Then below that ... 'Radio and Player' has the audio system diagrams listed by date of car build. Hope that helps. Best of luck .. TG
  18. I care I'm also disappointed that the 'new posts' isn't there now. That was much better than this new thing. I'm sure Steve will be (or is already) working on getting it back so we can be happy again 'Latest posts' just shows all the same ones but you just have to check the icon to the left of each topic to see if you've already looked at it. If it's a pale colour then it's been read but if it's dark then it's new or been updated. The "mark board as read" link at the bottom just turns them all pale. That way when you next use the 'latest posts' link you can see which are new / updated because they'll now have the darker icon on the left. Probably no help but worth a try TG
  19. It's often stamped on the inside of the wheel - as is the size ... On the back of a spoke perhaps ... For example the standard 17" 5 spoke alloys ... size 7J x 17 stamped on the back of one spoke and offset 50 or 45 stamped on the back of an adjacent spoke. TG
  20. There's a spec sheet on this site which lists the differences. May not cover all differences through the models life but the original ones are there. http://lexusownersclub.co.uk/articles/UK%20Lexus%20Spec%20Sheet%20IS200.pdf Hope that helps. TG
  21. Do you know what the offset of your wheels is ? There's a handy guide here http://www.lexusownersclub.co.uk/forum/index.php?showtopic=637 And offset info here http://www.lexusownersclub.co.uk/forum/index.php?showtopic=11821 I'm also on 8x18 with 225/40 tyres and don't suffer like that. Offset of mine is 40mm and using coilovers but not dumped too low. Best of luck TG
  22. That was 2 books, nos 2 + 3 below. They're Lexus repair manuals that dealers have ... Not sure if they're still available to buy but these are the part numbers of the ones I got .... 1) RM684E1 .... Repair manual volume 1 ... Some basic maintenance info and a whole bunch of flow charts for diagnostic procedures. 2) RM684E2 .... Repair manual volume 2 ... I think this is the best of the bunch. Bit like having a mega comprehensive haynes book. 3) EWD368F .... Electrical wiring diagram ... Part locations, connector details and complete wiring diagrams ... English, French, Spanish, German. Alternatively they're all here in pdf format .... http://www.bahamutcars.com/workshop/IS_98-05/index.html TG
  23. I haven't had my car in bits to check but found the info in the manuals ... For example .... Hope that helps ... TG
  24. The sunroof ecu appears to be in the roof near the switch / motor. There's 2 fuses involved, both in drivers side kick panel. 30A labelled Sunroof and 10A labelled ECU-IG. The wires from the switch just go to the ecu and as you say it's just a matter of which switch is pressed as to which function is earthed / activated. There's no power source at the switch. The power just goes straight to the ecu. The plug at the switch has 6 pin connector like this ... 3 2 1 6 5 4 Pin no. and coloured wires ... 4) Red wire for tilt up 3) Red+White wire for tilt down 2) Blue+Red wire for slide close 1) Blue+White wire for slide open When the appropriate button is pushed will have continuity to ... 6) White+Black wire is earth The ecu has a connector like this ... 1_2_____3__4 5_6_7_8_9_10 (sorry about the underbars but spaces just vanished) Pin 4 is constant battery voltage. Pin 3 is battery voltage with ignition ON and no voltage with ignition LOCK or ACC ** Pin 10 is grounded when front door opened. Pin 7 and 8 constant ground. Pins 1,2,5,6 grounded as close, open, up, down button pushed respectively. ** Exceptions During 60 seconds after ignition switched from ON to OFF/ACC Until driver or passenger door opened after ignition switched from ON to OFF/ACC Not sure if this will be any help but worth a try ... :duh: TG
