  1. The kit I mentioned above was the front pad fitting kit. That doesn't include the shims. They're a different kit - the 'front brake anti-squeal shim kit' would you believe :) Consists of anti-squeal shim and inner anti-squeal shim (see pic) for each of the 4 front pads + sachet of gungey stuff to smear on them. Part no. 04945-30140 and cost for this shim kit was about 40 quid this time last year. You might get away with cleaning up + regunging existing shims. TG
  2. Aha - well maybe a combination of OS and browser then. I'm on firefox 3.6 with XP and no probs that I'm aware of at the mo. Posted replies and even a new topic in the for sale section. Hasn't Vista been problematic from the start - I thought that was hence Windows 7 ... TG
  3. I'm currently on V3.6 Just checked for updates and it says there's no further updates available. TG
  4. The front kit consists of the parts to do both sides of the car. This pic might help a bit ... In the kit you get 8 pad support plates (4 of the upper and 4 of the lower). The lower ones have springy bits on the side and bottom where the end of the pad sits in and an adhesive pad approx 1mm thick underneath. The upper ones only have the springy bit on the side where the pad sits and not the adhesive pad underneath. Also in the kit are 2 pairs of the wirey anti-squeal springs whose ends clip into corresponding holes on the back edge of the pads. I think those might only be good for the Lexus pads though. I seem to remember when I had Mintex pads fitted those holes might not have been there .... Something in that fit kit definitely wasn't needed anyway ... Perhaps someone with more recent experience of those can confirm that I haven't gone completely bonkers. So, what do 8 pad support plates and 4 anti squeal springs cost ..... would you believe around 70 quid Part number is 04947-30090 if you're interested ..... If you only want 4 of the upper type of pad support plates there's some on ebay at the moment. Quick search for item no. 170439563188 Hope that helps TG
  5. Is that just one of the display options ? Click on the options button at the top right corner of a thread and select the standard display mode option. Not entirely sure but hope that helps. TG
  6. Yes they do go in and it can look good too ... If you go for the later ones (think it's 2003 on) they have darker insides which personally I prefer so swapped both of mine. TG
  7. Sorry about that - just pasted link from previous post but that item ended. Could try just searching ebay for the item no. 170418137312 for info ... Alternatively it's now been re-listed as item no. 170427799992 Price has shot up a whole quid :) A search for that no. will find it ... Hope that's better ... TG
  8. Is this what you're looking for ?? http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?Vie...em=170418137312 Seller is lexusbirm so that might help you. TG
  9. Some familiar faces in the pics of the nemesis one TG
  10. You can still get them from Lexus Birmingham who sell them from their ebay shop ... http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?Vie...em=170418137312 That any good for you ? TG
  11. Not sure if this will help but when I bought the kit for my rear brakes there were 2 very similar kits to choose from. One kit had a few more parts than the other but included all the other kits parts so would just be some bits left over. The parts guy came out to my car to check which one looked correct. My car is 2001. The kit I got was no. 04948-30080 So if your kit has some parts which are not on your car then I think just replace the parts you have and leave the rest out. TG
  12. I didn't know these cars had any oil level warnings. I think the oil light IS related to pressure. Are you sure the fully synthetic oil of the grade you're using isn't too thin and the cause of low pressure ? TG
  13. On 2nd thoughts I might be barking up the wrong tree here. If the springy bit was bust / missing then it wouldn't open in the first place when you pull the release lever. Apologies for misinformation ... Oops TG
  14. There should be a little springy piece of metal on the inside of the fuel flap door. Perhaps yours has come off or broken or something ... This was mentioned in another thread a few days ago. Not sure if that was the thread main subject though. Think the result in that case was to just replace that springy bit - just a cheap part to get. Perhaps people thinking this was the same thread and thus not replying. TG
  15. No they don't fold down and there's sheet metal between the interior and the boot space. Just the ski-hatch in the middle of the back seat. So if looking for some hatchback practicality you're out of luck. TG
  16. I used to get this a little bit now and again ... Now it just seems to happen after I get car / windows cleaned inside - so probably some spray of some sort. Found using aircon used to clear it quite quick but then would be steaming up again once stopped for a while. So, now generally put aircon off, use outside air (ie. non recirculating) directed to screen / floor and tilt the sunroof. Seems to work better for me ... TG
  17. Yes. Usually plugging the wiring from the ballast into the car headlamp plug the other (wrong) way round sorts it out. TG
  18. Surely you have your spare in the boot .... Why can't you just get that one out and find out for yourself ? Cleaner job that way too TG
  19. Crikey - that's another one ... Happy Birthday Guv. TG
  20. Years ago I used to use something similar called "Nitrox hot shot" which felt like it was doing some good. Was never really sure though whether it was real or just my imagination Wasn't sure if it still existed but just done a quick dig about and seems it does Basically a methanol additive which claims to be good at cleaning the engine out too. I should add this was all quite a few years before I got my IS200. TG
  21. I've also got the Bosch aero twins on my IS200. No problems for me - much better than the ones they replaced. TG
  22. Perhaps look here for some of the parts ... http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?Vie...em=170393667241 75quid for genuine parts from Lexus dealer ..... TG
  23. I'm sure I read some very bad stuff about these kind of blades some time ago. Can't remember if it was on here or somewhere else. End result advice was instead of going for the cheapies get the proper Bosch version. That's what I've done and no problems with them. Much better that the standard blades they replaced. TG
  24. The idle speed according to service manual should be 650rpm +/- 50 so maybe just needs speeding up slightly. I would guess you're right and it's the low revs triggering the oil pressure light to come on. TG
