  1. YUK And who's genitalia is that poking out the roof
  2. Prior to compressor, mine was about 550. Went up to about 750 when i told them about it + spoilers, grille etc ... They upped from group 12 to modified group 16. Old duffer (36), sleepy suffolk, street parking, Max ncd, £50xs, business + pleasure use. I'm going to haggle with them about the grouping soon. Try and get it back down to something sensible before July renewal.
  3. I think it's been said already but .... H A P P Y B I R T H D A Y J I M :D :D

  9. 27? he's just a pup :D Happy birthday mate ... Here's hoping you find something better to do than hang around with this bunch of losers on your birthday
  10. Downpipes (or manifold / header if you prefer) is 6 pipes into 2 into 1 ... There's a pre-cat in each of the '2' pipes ... Look down the exhaust side of your engine and you'll see the bulges. And there's the main cat in the exhaust mid section under the car. To gut the pre-cats, you need to cut open the pipes... Unless they're already knackered in which case it's just about possible without. Only know this coz i saw it done on somebody's IS Be aware you'll almost certainly fail an MOT test if you remove / gut the main cat.
  11. Specially if they spotted it while looking in a mirror
  12. And finally goosey arrives with some USEFUL info Altezza's are readily available there
  13. I'd assume each system is tailor made for application. Here's a couple of links ... AW english homepage - http://www.aisin-aw.co.jp/eng/frameset.html Nav system homepage - http://www.aisin-aw.co.jp/eng/s/cn/frame_cn.html Click 'summary' at top for some of their range (there's more in the jpn language pages) Click ' simulation' to have a go ... Look familiar ?? :D Amongst other things, Aisin AW are also responsible for the SC430 motorised roof.
  14. The system is produced by "Aisin AW" Toyota, Saab, Mitsubishi, Audi and others use them. Fujitsu + Alpine use these systems too. Dealers would contact "AW Europe" for advice on Nav system problems
  15. Agreed .. And they also always put MASSIVE wheels on and majorly dumped suspension :duh:

  17. WHAT ? A 600HP FUEL PUMP Where did you get that ? Was it expensive ? I'd like to replace my engine with one Did it bolt up to the transmission easily enough :iraqi-info-minister:
  18. You might want to get the alignment checked again then :duh: :duh:
  19. I got this neat accessory with my car ... Owners handbook or something i think it's called. Amazing the stuff in there - all about how things on my car work ... Like alarm, locks, stereo - even tyre pressures, servicing, specs etc. Sounds like it could be a real winner ... What say we ask Lexus to include them as standard :D :D :D :D
  20. Ha Ha You have to be kidding right ... :D Needn't worry, at that price they'll still be making a healthy profit :arrrggg-matey:
  21. What are you doing in the BMW lane on the motorway in the first place ? You're just a Lexus driver .... and have NO right to be there ;) No wonder they get jarred off at you. I thought everybody knew that lane was 'BMW ONLY'
  22. I think if the noise stops when you plonk the clutch pedal down, It could be a gearbox input shaft bearing. Anyway, should all be warranty work ...
  23. I heard a differrent story to that ... The special edition would have had to go through 'low volume type approval' That's what jpn imports - altezza etc have to pass. Now Lexus / Toyota being dead against jpn imports ... Policy decision made that they wouldn't be seen to be using the same 'back door'. Thus the project was canned. Despite it being Lexus GB who commissioned TTE to produce the s/c kit in the 1st place. Maybe urban legend - who knows ... but an alternative ending ... :D This is like 'additional features / endings' on a DVD isn't it :D
  24. 1) Warranty. The kit itself comes with a 1 yr TTE warranty. As with any modification, it's down to Lexus to prove it was the cause of failure. Though this hasn't been tested as far as i'm aware .... and obviously Lexus 'hold all the cards' coz they'd simply not do the work. 2) Resale. Given the choice, which would you buy - with or without compressor ? I know which i'd go for :D Any car is worth what someone will pay for it. 3) Removal. It can be removed relatively cleanly. May like to replace some engine trim pieces which are cut to accomodate the kit. 4) Is it worth 3k+ Well, that's a tough one. It's certainly WAY overpriced for what it is. But there's no real alternative to fix the gutless stock IS200. Once you've got one, you wouldn't want to be without it.
