  1. I am sure Sam that everyone appreciates the long hours and hard work put into this club by Steve and his team, as was shown by the presentations at last years JAE. However look at it from a new members side as he arrives at his first LOC meeting. How does he get to know who is who, who owns what, and who this mystery admin-man is. I've only been to three meets and i still dont know half of the people that turn up. I think a central point of meeting would be great, be it Wilrnes' gazebo or under some LOC banners. It would need someone to agree to arrive early to greet any new members. We are lucky that Steve can devote all the time he does, lets see if we can help him.
  2. I agree Michael, it did appear to be somewhat dis-organised, however it is only a hobby so you have to be very careful not to get too officious. I think it needed someone on site early to take charge, perhaps organise the parking and act as a welcoming point to new members of LOC. Like Chris i still find identifacion of members a problem, but expecting members to wear name badges may not suite all. Very difficult. Obviously the more events you go to, the more faces you will recognise. In our Ham Radio Club, we have a sign-in book or board ,and most people wear name badges. Can we get the flags we had at JAE to each meet? Or used Chris' new car as a meeting place :D
  3. Well you wouldn't lose it in a car park But steer clear of bowls of custard (showing his age)
  4. Which ones have you lost?
  5. 30 mpg is average, but in the winter with short journeys to work we are lucky to get 25mpg. On a run last year from Telford to Inverness we got over 410 miles on a tank full, i think it appeciates a long run.
  6. My wife and I got to the meet quite early, and there was a security man at the bottom of the slope directing cars into then right parking areas. As more cars arrived the man dissapeared and thats when we noticed the IQzeros' using the approach road as a test track. You could here them coming over the brow of the hill and launching into the area. It wasnt only Hondas but many of the VW cars on the other side. It unfortunatley went on all day, with cars using the exit road up past the museum for some kind of ego trip. Unfortunatley when you get high performance cars and low intelligance people together, its bound to happen. I would like to see all of the clubs i.e Honda, LOC and TOC making a stand now BEFORE someone gets hurt. How about marshall from each club with the power to evict the trouble makers? If you dont send the word out now,we will have the same problems at JAE.
  7. Had my boot opening springs replaced last year because it refused to open. They say there is no adjustment on them, and the new ones are still hit and miss.
  8. I remember ordering some LOC tee-shirts last year, perhaps they will arrive before JAE :P
  9. Another great day out- well done the organisers :D Great to see some of the old faces, appologies to the ones i didnt speak to. Hard to identify owners after a while. Could do with club badges or even better club tee-shirts :P My wife was keen to see inside the sports-cross, but couldnt work out who owned it, so she'll just have to come to JAE again for a propper look at one.
  10. A works colleague has a Type-R and he says he will be lucky to get 10k from a set of front tyres also says he has to creep over "sleeping policemen" and chevrons make it twitch all over the place
  11. My keen-eyed wife spotted LEX11S on the DVLA site, bid start at £1700. Could double the price of some cars :P
  12. I'm coming M54 them M6 from J10A, but could divert to Hilton Park Services for a meet.
  13. Well done on your new car, any pictures of the incident ;)
  14. I'll have a set of L.O.C. please Steve, see you at Gayden. (then it wont matter if i drive all the way back to the Hotel with them on, like i did at JAE )
  15. Chris how about Hilton Park Services on the M6 sunday morning? Marion says are you navigating :P
  16. Well done everyone, great news. Thanks to Matt for his efforts :D
