  1. Glad you got it sorted and avoided the dreaded main dealer .£570 quid makes you sick dont it .seems yours was an identical problem to mine .i would urge anyone with a mk1 Lexus gs300 that has original rad to have a good look at your rad as it will go and let you down no matter what antifreeze it has in it .
  2. bit of a how long is a bit of string question realy.i would think about £50 but stick it on ebay and you might get more .if its anything like the alloys you will get a fortune .
  3. sounds like a bargain .good car at rock bottom money ,go for it .
  4. have owned a couple ,good cars to drive especialy the GTi .no leg room in back and suffer a few minor niggles of which you have metioned a couple .i think the coil packs are a bit suspect to on some models .realy good car though although the die hard golf fan will tell you it had no heart and did not drive like the earlier model.i realy liked mine and regreted selling it .try to get a model with all the bits ,mine had full leather recaros ,climate ,vw bodykit in fact more extras than my lexus .the gti version has the same engine as the audi A4 ,TT ,A3, Passat and is a great engine .
  5. well i love speed just like the rest of us but as i said before it has a time and a place .we all stray above the limit to a certain extent and like to see what our cars do .look at the film there is clearly other road users on the same strech of road ,when you look in your mirror to overtake you do not take into consideration someone comming up in the fast lane doing 180mph it will be on you in a blink , it might be an M5 but it aint got a flippin anchor in the boot , crash at that speed you are a gonna, and if i am the unlucky person that pulls out you take me to ,and i would like to see my little girls grow up.Totaly agree with mats comments and i feel he has more experience than most when it comes to speed stopping distance etc.
  6. link for rad Good luck with it it and dont forget gearbox oil cooler is part of the rad as well so plug them pipes quick or loose the oil .
  7. i have a reciept from this company from 5 years ago and they cost £30 .thats some rise in 5 years .
  8. wish i was 6.3 and 11 stone ,i am 6.2 and 14 stone .problem is 2 stone of it is on my belly .dont now how old you are but wait until you hit your late 30,s and the weight piles on and is harder to shift .good luck with it though as it is hard to keep it up for a long time as your comitment fades and the visits top the gym get shorter and the ones to the bar longer :P .
  9. Would never trust a site that has no contact address ,and to be honest grille looks crap and so overpriced .i thought lexus main dealer prices were a joke but that takes the p*ss.i would steer well clear as i think the new gs looks great without it . Mike B i think you are spot on with your post..
  10. Not done one myself but not an hard job on most cars .would think it is held in by 3 or four bolts onto the bell housing of the gearbox .dont forget to disconnect battery before you start .as for finding one i would think most motor factors can source one .
  11. how the hell did you manage not to notice that ,they are slicks .
  12. advanced radiators i used these people last week and they were spot on ,you will have to ring them or email as your rad is not listed .i paid £105 inc vat and postage and the rad was realy good .
  13. will this one do the job .will this one do the same job
  14. thanks jamie ,i think the last option is what i am after .
  15. need to go wireless on my computer due to moving it around house and also useing a laptop on accasions .can anyone point me in the right direction .i have a talk talk moden with a usb connection to my computer.i know nothing about computers so realy need a plug and play system .any help or links on were to buy greatly appreciated . :) Tony
  16. not sure about car ,would look better without the front grille and windscreen sticker .car must be based in maidstone as picture taken at the cinema there .
  17. i am starting to think this car knows it is close to going as today i managed to loose one of the tailpipes .five years of trouble free motoring and two proplems in a month ,just shows how good these cars are .partners audi TT has gone wrong four times in the four months she has had it .realy need a diesel car but cant afford the new IS diesel.anyone had any experience of the dare i say it BMW 330D (ducks for cover) as this is no1 on my list as a replacement .
  18. almost positive they are bigger .remember it from a previous post
  19. they are very nice ,shame i cant get them on an audi TT they would look better than the ones on it at moment .real bargain if you have a black is200 though.
  20. for the last two years i have had renewal letters sent through but gone online with the same company and got it cheaper ,seems they give discount for new customers ,so if you get your renewal through get a quote online and then phone them insisting on the cheaper quote .saved me £45 this year with barclays .
  21. got to be the golf for me ,great fan of the r32 but as mentioned the new one is far better and quicker, but i would still love the old one if could afford it .
