  1. There are ads on ebay for people who will replace your engine with a refurbed one for about £900 all in. Havent heard any feedback about them though.
  2. 6q7 does have 2 names: Kensington Green (Lexus) and Imperial Jade Mica (Toyota).
  3. I bought one of those off them the other day. £20 and they had it with me the next day via courier. Fits great as it's identical to the original. I'm sure it will be more off the dealer.
  4. Yes the IS can look quite high at the rear especially SEs. However later cars were lower - as some later SEs were lower than early Sports.
  5. Gone and bought that pulley myself - hopefully it will help cure my belt slip by tightening it all up a little. Thanks for the research :P
  6. The TTE/Eibach springs are designed to be used with the stock dampers and the TTE springs are rebranded Eibachs. The KYB Excel-G is the stock damper. This is the setup i am running with uprated ARBs. If you fit the TTE/Eibach springs to very worn dampers they may let go as it does stress them more than the stock springs.
  7. :) Glad the advice helped out. How much larger is it than the TTE IC is it? I've never had them side by side as my kit never had one.
  8. turning the TRC off will not give you any more power. The TRC only does anything if the ABS sensors detect excessive wheel spin when it then cuts the injectors. The increased shove you felt will have been a placebo effect.
  9. Yep mine clunks as well - seems to only be when the gearbox is cold. Seems to take the gearbox slightly longer to warm up then the engine.
  10. Nice on Patrik - glad to hear you have got it all sorted eventually.
  11. There is a Lexus meet at the Ace Cafe in London on the 10th October. Might be a bit of a way for you though.
  12. As ASI says some people reccomend changing to IK22 sparkplugs rather than IK20 as they are more reliable due to lower heat but I've had no problems on my IK20s. In fact with IK22s my car wouldn't start but that may have been poor fitting by myself
  13. ATM moment the supercharging is your best bet (if you can get hold of the TTE kit) as it is bolt on. The kit will give you 205Bhp stock but has been raised in the past to about 230Bhp with a new 6-2-1 manifold and a piggyback ecu. However a turbo systems is being developed by SPC Horsham and I know they allready sell a very tasty looking Turbo Manifold (seen it in the flesh) so an off the shelf turbo system is looking like it may become the power mod of choice soon for the 200. I've had no engine problems yet with the charger installed as it is a Toyota Tuning Europe part and is designed to be bolt on so is within tolerance of the engine. I know Monster Mat had it fitted by TTE themselves and Lexus allowed him to keep his warranty.
  14. The T&Cs state that all cars are sold in an unroadworthy condition and cannot be driven on the road - so I can't see any legal comeback at all if anything fails. Also states that some cars may come with an MOT which would mean it is roadworthy :s Also states that nothing said by any employees is binding so therefore they cannot tell what the condition of the car is and you have to make your own descision visually. I would stay well clear!
  15. Ouch! 166 Euros is quite a lot. Oh well theyare no more expensive than the C-Ones Prolex are selling so at least your not paying over the odds in the end. Good luck with your drop links.
  16. £2.5k is a bit expensive for a kit - especially as your gonna have to add postage from Oz. However these things are worth what someone will pay for it...
  17. Thats what i was thinking Mat. The car is not slow (thought I think it's 0-60 in 9.1secs Mat not 7.1 :P) its just a bit slow off the line due to the poor low end torque and wieght it carries around. Once your on the move the car has plenty of shove - even more so with the charger. As Mat said you have to remember that this is a 1999 design and you have to compare it to other cars of the time. If the IS200 is too slow for some of you why didn't you get a 300?? The car is a rival for the 2ltr 3 series not a Nissan Skyline.
  18. Chargers get very hot - thats why you have an intercooler. Same with turbos.
  19. As Robin said you should replace in pairs and the is200 ones will work fine. The fronts and can be had for a little over £100 a pair from a shop called buypartsbuy on the net.
  20. very good price Dimitris - hopefully the stiff settings on the rear bar will not make the car too tail happy.
  21. i got a £200per year warranty direct policy when i first got the car instead of an RAC inspection - did not cover any suspension. But everything else including putting in a % of the cost for wear and tear
  22. The new 6x9s will not like the feed the amp sends them due to the bi-wired nature of the OEM ones. The way round this is to run wires from your head unit along the side of the car from the Head Unit to the Speakers bypassing the amp.
  23. A remap will not get you that much power unless you have proper induction and exhaust mods and even then 15bhp is a bit optomistic i think.
