  1. Good customer service. I imagine it might be hard to maintain a smile and a friendly word in a high pressure environment like McD's but I have rarely seen a car salesman rushed off their feet. The question begs - "Is it worth giving good customer service?" Will people return their custom or will they just go for the cheapest? My father once said people are too fickle when it comes to loyalty vs. money. I disagree with him, as I would gladly pay a bit extra knowing I am getting good service. Coffee and biscuits at the dealers - yes you do pay for it, but at the end of the day it is your choice. Getting that balance between paying a bit extra and being ripped off is tricky!
  2. My advice would be don't have a knee-jerk reaction. Consider the Job/time/expense. How much would you actually save? Changing cars is expensive, that will buy quite a bit of fuel. Have you done the run to see what MPG you actually get? How much EXTRA in fuel will it cost you? Will the renumeration more than cover the cost?
  3. Because you did not buy the car from the local dealer, I just wonder if there is a bit of sour grapes?
  4. I agree with you it is dated and needs a re-think.
  5. Unfortunately they will not last forever Malc. I have heard zimmer frames are very reliable .......... probably my next port of call at my age!
  6. I think Musk is trying to capture the battery market. I am not sure he will continue in the car trade but he is leading the way, reluctantly for many, to the future. I will enjoy my V8 for a little longer but the writing is on the wall I am afraid. Technology is moving at an incredible rate, so it will be very interesting to see how cars develop. One leading light on driverless cars has predicted that his 12 year old son will not have to pass a driving test in his lifetime - a bit over optimistic, but who knows???? Your arguments in favour of electric cars, Ganzoom, are very persuasive. Keep us posted on the Tesla.
  7. My children always dob me in to trhe wife when they catch me looking at AutoTrader. "Mum! Dad's looking at cars again!" little sods!
  8. What is the name of the colour please? Looks fantastic!
  9. Yes! It is him! Never watch cooking programmes ................ Take-aways for me!
  10. Saw this silver colour on an IS (I think?) yesterday. It was like chrome. Does anyone know trhe name of the colour? It does not look like the colours offered on the Lexus website.
  11. I love that colour (green?) - she looks very well presented, especially the wheels. Well done.
  12. I understand there have been issues with the 1.2 litre turbo engines (Renault?) at around 40,000 miles. I would prefer a standard 1.6 engine, to these buzz bombs?
  13. I believe the consensus of opinion is that ALL IS-F's should be silver - just saying what I have read on this forum many times ........ possibly by the same author?
  14. That is praise enough for me! I find I have to be careful not to have it too loud, the neighbours might complain as I come in the drive ......... also going a bit deaf too.
  15. The other ploy salesmen have on handover is, "I don't want to insult you by showing you all the features you know how to use."
  16. Normal? Dung from the male cow me thinks? Unless other owners can confirm? Does not sound like a Lexus trait.
  17. It is easily done in our cars. I would be gutted to get a ticket but it is not impossible.
