  1. any ideas on a good intake spot? only goin to put a bonnet vent if completely necaserry for forced induction kit
  2. i would say that it prob would not make a big big diff to the drag because the grill would still catch wind with plate in. but must surely do much better job cooling induction. have been looking for somewhere to put an air intake for a forced induction filter like a bmc covered filter but the bay is tight and so far can only see a space straight through the floor plate under engine or go in from the bonnet. cut out for a small scoop. still not sure yet. bonnet needs sprayed anyway along with bumper
  3. avoid them mate its a scam. they will then say they sending you a check for way more than the car is worth and it is to cover shipping. they will want the car before thier cheque clears but the money they ask you to write them a cheque for will clear leaving you minus money and minus car. google search for car buying scam had same thing before. looks like a mobile number but its not its a premium rate number. i told the police an they said the cant act until somet happens. great law isnt it BEWARE
  4. looks like it take away a lot of cold air from engine bay
  5. if you are not fussy about the rear sitting slightly higher than fronts just springs. if you want adjustment coilovers. its a fairly easy job. good guide on here about doing it. my big tip is keep a mate near by for some leverage
  6. while i was having a hoke about my engine bay looking for somewhere good to duct air for a new induction kit i noticed the grill had a almost solid plastic plate behind it held on by clips. as you can see it looks very restrictive so i ripped it out and also removed the bonnet insulation. but the question is what was it for in the first place. only thing i can guess is like a winter driving cover to keep out the cr*p. any ideas?
  7. yea recieved wrong part, will defo let you all know once i get proper one
  8. just did mine red with white stickers looks sweet. even on green car lol. must say i would love a red is200. yours looks sweet as mate. jealous now. lol dont see many red ones over here.
  9. what are the adaptor for?? surely if pipes dont line up there no way of adapting it without putting stress on weld by forcing them closer together than the natural position?
  10. film brands will do many different shades and finishes. i stick to black as its most popular and it does not seem worthwhile to order in large rools of film for 1 or 2 cars. folitec is pi*s poor film. different tinters will have different films and finish options. phone about ortry the one in fife see what he says
  11. at this time with the credit crunch you only need to look at auto trader to see how prices are falling. you could get a micra/almera whatever you like for next to nothing. its a great time for a bargain and your the one with the cash so dont give them asking price unless the car is exceptional condition as for the avensis beware. they have a common problem where not enough oil gets to the cylinder due to bad design of oil rings i think which wears the bore and piston before finally one of your pistonds may throw a leg out of bed. to resolve the problem a new short block is needed. they were under waranty when new as toyota knew about it but older cars beware. think it was around year 2000 they had the problem. i not sure on which engines but for definate the 1.8 petrol. even some new celicas have oil burning problems and use oil pretty bad
  12. must be suntec carbon, is a good grade of film, i have not done any is220/250s but i know the is200 was a pain in the ***** as the heater elements where wild thick and the film did not want to stick round them, but got it down in the end. had to take half the car apart to get at the rear screen too. price may be right if the new is is easier to work at than old is200. make sure he does a good job and dont be afraid to say your not happy if it dont look like a good job. no excuse for gaps at edges of windows or any small creases. only thing permisable should be very small dots witch could be airborn dust at time of fitting. good luck Job Done! And looks good. Just waiting on it drying out for full effect. Looks really good with the Oakham Leather and subtle enough for me. Autotint (in Fife) do a good job. This is the fifth vehicle he has done for me without any issues. He said it was easier to do than he initially thought. Highly recommended. Did he remove the rear quarter lights and the door cards etc?? best job is alway by removing quater lights and door panels. sometimes i even take the glass out of the car to get a better job.
  13. check the tyres are not an irregular shape. if you had warped discs at first they can wear the tyre unevenly making it sort of go egg shaped. jackit up spin it and use a brick or sometring close to the tyre to see if it is spinning true. sometimes shape of a uneven worn tyre can shock you. basic check that could save you running round in circles ghanging discs and pads at expense of your wallet

This is the fifth vehicle he has done for me without any issues. He said it was easier to do than he initially thought. Highly recommended. glad you got sorted. there a lot of so called tinters out there that dont care what the finished productt looks like as long as they get the cash. sounds like you found one that takes some pride in his work like myself
  15. yea 1.3 micra, nippy little cars off lights. think they are a 16v dohc and best of all timing chain. good and strong. if he dont like that idea almera still cheap insurance. but prob not as nippy as micra.
  16. i usually go for nankhangs on my cars, seem to be a decent tyre with good wear. for every day driving they are pretty good and i find them fine for a raking when needed.

  18. before i bought my is200 i had considered a racing puma, extra wide arches an 150bhp in a lightweight car, would go like stink off the lights. but my thoughts where shattered when i realised the front seatbelts/harnesses go straight through the rear seats. not so good for the child seat. i said what about the boot but the missus was not havin it lol nice we car, destroyed the tigra on looks and put it out of business lol
  19. i am not an is250 owner i have a is200 but i am a window tinter in northern ireland, pretty much if you want to chance having your fronts done its at your own risk because anything legal is just about noticable for the money you will pay. laws in uk are not as strict as america so at worst you prob be told to remove it and a fine, but thats the risk you take. my is200 is in gallery with llumar 35% classic on the rears. not too dark not too light, my recomendation to most people. if you have a light interior you can go darker as it will make the tint seem lighter. £150 is very cheap for a lexus, check what film they are using. llumar, suntec, johnsons are 3 real good ones.
  20. going to change my belt soon and just wondering if there is timing marks on the pullys or do i need to lock the bottom ones while i change it. didnt see any mention of it in the timing belt post. got my kit and water pump so doin it soon.
  21. took my wheels off yesterday to paint my brakes to be met by baldy insides on the rear. i have my car set to the -35 settings from the recovery settings. i know it running camber on rears but didnt think it was that bad. think its at 2 degrees camber looking at my settings. is this normal fro the rears? i knew the fronts where bad prob due to the factory settings before i got it set to the loc settings
  22. pipes wont line up ok cheers matt. saved me goin out in rain to measure up lol. will try find a local is300 owner an see if it will fit and give them it.
  23. hmm great being told to keep it but what do i do with somet that wont fit anything lol. may see if it would be possible to modify the flanges as long as the pipes would line up with the oulets on the block.
