  1. It only has a limited database of phone numbers - basically not worth using.
  2. Join our gold membership for £25pa and get up to 15% off servicing :)
  3. as are most towns these days but at least it is normal for people to have 10 toes in hertfordshire :P
  4. There have been many transmission failures in the US on 4WD RX300s but the first I have heard about in Europe. How many miles has the vehicle done? Did you ever change the transmission fluid? Even though Lexus state it shouldn't be changed Lexus dealers in the US recommend a change every 15k - 30k miles. Other people also recommend putting on an external transmission filter.
  5. I would say the 3 service plan is the best value, as if you time it right you can get 2 major and 1 minor service. I was told a timing belt change is still charged extra so double check that if you have a 100k service coming up.
  6. The sport doesn't have different brake parts.
  7. Coolant should be changed every 2 years after the first 3 years - yes it is necessary if you don't want your radiator and water pump to corrode. Brake fluid should be changed every 2 years if you want to maintain the braking system efficiency. Normally because the coolant is first changed at 3 years you don't have them both done on the same service. The service price quoted should contain those items anyway - not as extras. Fan belt - I guess they mean timing belt? That should only be done at 100k miles.
  8. You don't want to do that. At least £2000 + wiring changes and your existing screen may not display correctly as DVD systems use a widescreen display.
  9. It is very noisy compared to the LS OEM tyres, completely different category of tyre. One is a high performances sports tyre, where noise and comfort are an after thought, and the other is a low rolling-resistance cruising tyre where noise, economy and comfort are the primary factors in the design. Possibly worth a look at Yokohama AVS dB.
  10. I wouldn't say the Goodyear Eagle F1 GS3D's are suited to the LS.
  11. http://www.liquidleather.com/ LIQUID LEATHER & SCUFF MASTER products are very good.
  12. They have been saying it for over a year now. Someone I know has waited and now cannot get a morgage for the amount needed to buy a place because prices continued to rise.
  13. Depends what term of investment you are looking for. If you may move within 5 years then there could be a problem but a longer term shouldn't be. The analysts I have heard are predicting no growth for a few years rather than falling prices.
  14. I thought they are but the TTE web site shows different part numbers. They changed the design, maybe they weren't different but are now.
  15. It's nothing to do with a straight or v engine just how it has been designed. Nearly all Toyota engines are non interference, 4 cylinders, i6, V6 and V8 (not the 4.7 V8). The timing belts Toyota use are also strong and it's rare for one to fail before the change interval or a long time past it. Nearly all Honda, Nissan, VW, Audi engines are interference. My old boss had a cambelt fail on his Audi A4 after only 28,000 milies - under half the change interval and did a lot of damage!
  16. Yes they were first made for the GS. TTE do them, available from your dealer although well overpriced and unreliable. Best to wait until Prolex ones are available although don't think they will do ones with 'Lexus' written on them.
  17. Rear fog lights are dazzling that is why you shouldn't be using them in 'mild fog' :P
  18. If you put your main beam on the light should be straight ahead and therefore when you dip them the light will be below.
  19. Most lenders will give up to 2.5 to 3 times a joint salary (3.5 to 4 times a single salary) although some will go even higher. To get good interest rates a lot of lenders will only go to 80% of the house price so you would need 20% + £3k (fees) savings. Some will lend more, and as Matt said up to 120%, but rates will be higher. If monthly payments are going to be too high look at a longer term, as you are both young, 30 or 35 years maybe.
  20. On early models (not sure if it's there on 2001+ models) there is a PIN option that may or may not be enabled. If it is enabled you have to enter the pin for the unit to work after the battery has been disconnected.
  21. Pontenza RE040 and Dunlop SP9000 are the OEM tyres fitted to the IS.
