  1. You cannot compare the GS with a 7 series. You have already stated the GS has less wind noise than your 5 series. However I agree the ride quality is very poor in the GS - it's set up too much for the US market. Is your GS a face lift model (new style rear lights) as these do ride better than the 1998-2000 versions but it's still not good enough. I'm considering swapping out my suspension but don't want to spend £1000 to find it doesn't make things any better and I do not know of anybody in the UK that has already done it.
  2. Yes you need to clean the IACV (Idle Air Control Valve). Very common problem on the 3.0l V6 engine. Search or look through the ES300 or RX300 forums on the US site. http://us.lexusownersclub.com/forums
  3. It is seen as rude within Internet forums and makes it more difficult to read.
  4. I thought the 3.5 will be around 270bhp - wouldn't think it will have 315.
  5. They haven't sorted out the front seats then. Other than that it really doesn't say what it drives like or how it compares to the series II. I'm hoping for a big improvement in ride quality.
  6. The viewing post count will always be muh higher than posts. Each time you look at the thread it goes up. It's possible over 200 people have looked at this thread - it's also possible that 20 people have looked at it 13 times.
  7. 100k service is the belts I think. only 11k away though! ← depends on age. 1998 and some 1999 are service every 9k miles and the cambelt change is 63kmiles not 100k miles.
  8. The 2005 SE also comes with adaptive headlights - this is why it is more difficult to justify paying the extra for the SE-L
  9. It's not as fast, smooth or quite but handles slightly better being a smaller car and is cheaper to run.
  10. It's the key with three buttons, lock/unlock/boot release. I will try and find the procedure.
  11. You may want to try posting on the US forums. The ES model isn't sold here in the UK http://us.lexusownersclub.com/forums
  12. Up to you if you like it or not but you will get less trade in for it when you come to sell it.
  13. The layout is different between CD and DVD based systems which is why it looks different.
  14. It's not £9k difference. If you had the Nav to the SE (yes bluetooth and reverse camera are included) the difference is £2.5k
  15. The solar sensor (sits on top of the dash) increases the fan speed/cooling to compensate for strong sunlight heating the interior.
  16. I think there are sport ones available as well. It may be that Lexus change suppliers and therefore the design changes. Best to speak with Chris S
  17. if it doesn't state in the owners manual then you don't have to.
  18. It is illegal to leave a vehicle running unattended on the public road. Companies sell turbo timers because they you should stay with your car.
  19. You need an existing master key for the new ECU.
  20. Having to check two forums. If you have a problem it is much better to post on the public forums as there are many more people to answer.
  21. You will probably find Denso will not talk directly with the public, certainly on Toyota products.
  22. Lexus use Navtech map information which they combine with other info so a normal Navtech disc will not work. Aisin and Denso make the sat nav system and only Toyota/Lexus discs work. The JDM nav unit is different from the European versions. People have tried putting a UK disk into Altezza, Aristo, Soarer and Harrier and it doesn't work - so there is no reason to think it will work in the Celsior.
