  1. See if the warning light on the dashboard comes on when the boot is open. If it does then the bulb is gone. If it doesn't then the sensor is at fault.
  2. So will it be even better if it was more stiff? Time to get the TRD ones??
  3. They look a bit like OZ Hydra http://www.ozracing.com/shared/car/classic/02_big.jpg
  4. I think screwfix sell G3. T-Cut is fine although it can leave very fine scratch marks - so go over it with scratch-x after.
  5. Try using superunleaded petrol and see if it still knocks. FYI - vvt-i doesn't kick in
  6. I think some of the LCs have 6 stud wheels?
  7. The 4 cylinder engine is a newer design and has had more R&D into it which is why it produces more power. Most of it's power however is high up the rev range and therefore is not really 'Lexus' The 6 cylinder engine is used in it's market because it is smooth however it is poor on fuel and emissions and as with most small 6 cylinder engines is not good on low down torque.
  8. Four, as in four cylinder? Surely not! Lexus must never launch a car less than 6 cylinders! I suppose it'll just be the engine in the Avensis? Haven't Lexus already said they don't want to put in a 4 cylinder diesel. I thought there was talk about using the 3.0 BMW engine which is excellent.
  9. You may want to get your throttle body cleaned and the throttle position sensor tested and adjusted correctly. They can both have an effect on idle.
  10. If you have a 2001 car then you shouldn'd need the set. They should be able to program your car for a new master key on its own. I don't think there is any other way because Lexus will need to program the car using their diagnostic equipment. You can always join the Lexus Owners Club Gold membership which will save you up to 15% off Lexus parts and servicing to help lower the bill.
  11. It is only a minor service. However the coolant (or is it brake fluid?) also needs to be changed after 3 years which puts the price up a bit.
  12. Sometimes air can build up around the coolant temp sensor which can affect the running.
  13. Don't believe everything you read http://www.lexus.co.uk/news.php?page=article&id=sales_soar
  14. There is no TV function although it can be added by using third party products.
  15. Info on TRD ones: http://www.toyota-trd.com/en/strt/s_stblzrbar.html
  16. You can always buy a wheel on ebay - just as cheap now as getting one refurbed
  17. I think the EEC system works differently on newer models which is what my link describes. On older systems the tank can have +ve and -ve pressure at certain times. Check valves in the system should prevent either condition getting excessive. +ve pressure is controls by check valves in the fuel cap and one of the valves in the charcoal canister. -ve pressure is controlled by another valve in the charcoal cansiter. If you are getting excessive pressure then you should get your charcoal canister checked.
  18. You don't say what age your car is. If it's a pre-facelift model (pre 2001) then the control system also has to be replaced as you cannot program another key without a master. I've tried a key from the US. Couldn't get the remote locking to program (may use different frequency) and I cannot find the procedure for programming the immobiliser as it's different from the US procedure.
