  1. There isn't a new LS coming out in 2005. It's only just been updated in 2004. You would need to wait until 2006 or 2007 for a new model. There is no question that the MKIV is the best of the LS400s. More power, smoother, better equipment, beter economy etc. I haven't heard of many problems with the MKIV but that may be because they are much newer. It you want trouble-free then get the lowest mileage you can afford. But for 10k you would only get a very high mileage MKIV.
  2. A lot of companies won't insure the actual mods. If you have a crash they normally let you take them off before the car is repaired so it's only a big problem if your car is stolen.
  3. It was good last year, apart from the queue getting in. Zee are you going to be racing some more Altezzas?
  4. The rear door sensors not working is a common fault. The sensors are built into the door locks are cost £££ to replace. If you have a warranty with the car then get it booked in. The boot lid, if fully up, should stay in place. It will close every easily - just move it down and it will self close. If you look at the back there are two bars which provide the tension. If you pull back the side trim of the boot there are three positions for the bars so you can alter the tension. These are normally used if a spoiler is fitted so the boot will still close but not slam.
  5. The RX330 isn't new. It's been out for nearly a year now. We don't get the 3.3 in this country, we only get the RX300. The RX330 is available in the US as 2 wheel drive and 4 wheel drive. The rear camera is nice, available on the RX300 SE and SE-L in this country as well as on the LS430 and some of the new Toyota models.
  6. There are front and rear electric motors so it is an electric 4x4 + a petrol fwd
  7. I would prefer a normal finish to a polished one but they look nice. You will certainly get noticed with a black car and nice shinny wheels!
  8. No I cannot think of any other posts of just a picture without any reason or explanation. Are you saying you have put that engine into your vehicle?
  9. I gave my old Philips on-digital box to my parents but I could swap it with your Grundig one as they don't want top up tv?
  10. Not sure if the last of the series I had an intergrated light, I've seen a couple that have had it. Like this one: http://www.lexusownersclub.co.uk/forum/ind..._gallery&id=432
  11. The wires look at little tight, could fail after a while with engine vibration.
  12. The old on-digital/itv digital ones are a bit crap. Very slow and crash more often but they are the only option if you want top up TV as there still aren't new boxes available with the card slot. I think that's why there prices are still high on ebay. I gave my old Philips on-digital box to my parents but I could swap it with your Grundig one as they don't want top up tv.
  13. It may be worth getting new HT leads although probably won't increase mpg much. Intake temp. sensor shouldn't be causing a code. Worth getting that fixed. I think the ECU will just assume a temp. of something like 20c if it isn't working so shouldn't cause too big a problem. If it's not working then mpg could go down a bit.
  14. Try and find one with service bills. Service history is not much on it's own. Anybody can pay Lexus to change the oil and filters to get a stamp but the extras that need doing from time to time may not have been done (e.g. brake disc and pads, cambelt, shocks, bushes, engine mounts etc.)
  15. H indicates high pressure side L indicates low pressure side As has already been stated the sight glass is used to check for bubbles in the system or low refigerant. You will find these on all Toyotas with AC.
  16. The series II sport have the rear shelf brake light removed as the raised spoiler is in the way, plus the spoiler has one built into it. I would have thought you may have the same problem with the series I.
  17. Try taking it on a run out of the city and see what mpg you get then. In stop/start traffic the mpg will be poor (I would have thought around 15mpg). Have you checked the normal things? e.g. air air filter isn't dirty, tyres are at the correct pressure.
  18. If you have the part number it should be fine. If they have to find it that's where the trouble starts.
  19. Seems a bit random your post. Why have you posted a picture of the RX330 engine?
  20. They are on the TRD site, just not the english one. http://www.trdparts.jp/list_altezza.html May be difficult getting TRD parts through your Lexus dealer. It's bad enough trying to get TTE parts.
  21. Nothing about the insurance industry makes sense! Give Bell Direct and Sainsburys a try.
