  1. It can be a pain. Half the time I end up doing something in the house or the car when I should really be working. I don't drive as much so go out to burn fuel for the sake of it. It does save some time though but that's probably because I'm doing things on a weekday that I should be doing at work. I'm technically self employed but I get paid regardless of what I'm doing. The problem is that my profits suffer if I'm not looking at what the team are doing so I'm probably losing out. Will have to give the accountants a call....
  2. Just contact them by phone and see if they'll give you a settlement figure
  3. Unlikely - Id say theyll stay around £52-55k
  4. This is Fuji Red Much brighter red than the usual Lexus red
  5. All depends on documentation. VAG group let you keep the incentives and so does BMW. With Lexus I'd check the documentation and then if it's unclear on incentives I'd wait after 14 days and then settle it.
  6. Theyve added Sonic Grey which seems to be slightly darker than the Mercury grey. Matter of time I suppose, theyve been using Mercury grey for 10 years! Likely if yours is a MY23 build, theyll inform you of the slight price increase and a option to change colour. Boot capacity will be the same, as will the drivetrain. Sonic Platinum is about the same in terms of shade but it appears to have more reflective ability. In some lighting it almost seems to look very slightly blue. The black interior appears to be shown with black headlining. No idea on hazel but itll probably come with a similiar colour headlining, or black depending on how the accountants look at it. Hazel is more of a brown shade . Ochre is nearly orange
  7. The car is Sonic White in the UK paint code 085. It has different names in other markets hence the confusion. The information you're after has been removed from the V5C due to data protection laws. It may be on service documentation however so see if you can find anything on there. The other option is to check the MOT history here https://www.check-mot.service.gov.uk/ Then click on "view test location" and itll ask you to put the V5C number in. Itll give you a broad idea of where it was kept. In terms of Iron X, its good but overpriced. There are loads of fallout removers out there. I use this one. Double the size and very effective with free postage. https://detailedonline.co.uk/products/iron-fallout-remover-500ml?_pos=1&_sid=9dacf3d39&_ss=r&variant=7560584593463 You will get through a lot of it with a white car. The other thing youll need is a clay bar
  8. I got caught out. Went with utility point who went bust and then got transferred to a standard tariff with EDF. Having said that I've probably saved quite a chunk compared to just remaining on standard tariff over the past 10 years so it's probably broken even 🤣
  9. I think im in a more fortunate situation that most. I could change cars now but Im waiting for the new RX to come out. I realise bills have gone up and can see more money going out of our accounts but not to the extent that I would change my spending habits or lifestyle. My utility bill seems to have jumped the most out of all my spending in terms of percentage. Its gone from £200 to £600 a month. The pandemic seems to have actually boosted my investments and income as I did a lot of investing and things I wouldnt normally get time to do during the middle of it which has offset everything else
  10. I think the braking distance is over 10m between A to E but not sure on the fuel efficiency. I doubt the fuel efficiency figures are of any use as its too variable. I wouldnt go any less than a C on braking distance.
  11. To keep it simple, the ES300h tyre size is 235/45 R18 94W from factory You can go up on the load rating e.g. to 98 if required but that may negatively affect ride quality You can go up or down on Speed rating e.g. from W to V provided you won't be exceeding that speed There are so many options available. Uniroyal Rainsport 5 has a slightly softer sidewall for better ride comfort. Goodyear Eagle F1 asymmetric 3 or 5 is also available in that size and thats the one Id go for. Ive had it on almost every saloon ive owned including a supercharged Jag and its brilliant in all conditions. Its also very quiet
  12. Theoretically the spark plugs should be changed on distance travelled and not time. The Lexus servicing scheme doesnt really allow for this. So a car which has 10k miles would end up having spark plugs changed at 60k. The Lexus Essential Care servicing that they used to do for cars over 5 years old was great in this respect. You just had the major/minor service done and then add spark plugs or whatever else maintenance needed doing for extra cost. This was ideal for low mileage users
  13. No doesn't seem to work like that Everything is online and you just take it in for service and they carry out the service required. You can't really chop and change the services so you can't just tell them to carry out a 60k/6year service without a spark plug change
  14. Its not much slower than the IS250. It makes a good noise in F-Sport guise and they can be picked up relatively cheap compared to a 450h or newer 300h.
  15. Everything looks fine according to the stamps on the book. This is your 6th service so hence its the 6 year/60k service. If you look carefully youve had 2 services in 2020 and the 2021 service is 2 months earlier than it would be if you were doing 10k miles a year. Same with the 2022 service Your mileage is much higher than 10k miles a year hence you reached the 60k service earlier than expected
  16. How many stamps are in the book? Like John has mentioned its 10k/1year whichever comes soonest so despite the vehicle being on 51k miles, if you havent owned it from new, it could have done more than 10k in a year causing the services to be done slightly earlier each time. The other theory is that the dealer could have done a service in advance of a sale which could have pushed it forward too
  17. What I was trying to say is, if your order came in at under £40k, it should still be that price despite the price changes that followed. So you shouldn't have to pay the supplementary tax. You may be able to change the order but this usually means a delay and you'll pay the updated prices on the whole vehicle. Best to check with the dealer but I suspect they'd cancel the original order and put in a completely new one
  18. As far as I'm aware, with any vehicle I've bought, the price you order it at is the price you pay. I've never had dealer say "oh the price has gone up since you ordered so you have to pay the new price now"
  19. I didnt rate the UX250h versions either. Hence we got the UX300e as its a much better car in terms of road noise, quietness and performance. The extra sound deadening is definitely noticeable. Having said that, when I had the ES as a loaner for the UX300e I felt disappointed. I was comparing it to my RX and I found it a bit slow. It felt more boat like than the RX which I found a bit weird.
  20. It should be a direct swap https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/265591560392?hash=item3dd67d98c8:g:WKAAAOSwhRhiLHhy Ebay is showing up some grills for the RC with part number 5310124090 That particular link Ive shown has the cover on the right side which a lot are missing and the standard or Premier/Takumi models version of this part wont fit the F-Sport grill You could also contact: https://lexuspartsdirect.co.uk/ 53101-24180 seems to be the part number for the Luxury line grill with vertical slats. 5310124090 seems to be the correct part number for the F-Sport grill itself
  21. Sounds normal. People are waiting 12 months for VW products at the moment, some in excess of that
  22. Gummiplege is OK but silicone spray on a rag wipes over the seals seems to last a lot longer and provide more lubrication between the seals in my opinion.
  23. A polisher should get most of that out or atleast make it less visible. Cant imagine it costing more than £300 to sort out which would probably be much cheaper than going through insurance depending on excess and ongoing costs of a claim
  24. Well its not massively inaccurate. The camera based system seems to pick up on most speed signs. The problem is that it picks up on max speed signs that are on the back of lorries and vans too and theres no way of the system knowing which one is which.
  25. Most of the time the camera system is fairly accurate though and does pick up most speed signs so in that regard it is a driver aid. As always though, its a driver aid as its supposed to be used in conjunction with the driver, hence the quite obvious name. Unfortunately therefore, it does rely on an element of common sense on the drivers part in knowing that a road is not a motorway, or a motorway is not a 30mph road.
