  1. Thats a good comparison and many younger prospective owners will find that useful. Have you thought about buying a bulk of services in one go? I believe they work out more cost effective. Also you have taken into account a loan for 5 years. Personally I think this should be excluded, as some may have different loan circumstances and therefore not a fair comparison in that sense. but excellent comparison.
  2. Altezzas from HK? Wouldn't it be cheaper and more choice to get one from Japan? I'm assuming the middleman will have made their cut exporting to HK and then to UK. What is it you enjoy about the whole process? Getting all the documents and finding a reputable garage to get it through the ESVA? Or is it just the fact you get loads of choice :) For me definitely the latter except I hate the long the wait........
  3. f*ck sake, this has gone so far off topic! Slam> If you can't afford the IS then have you thought about the Altezza? I know you wanted black, but how about this really nice white RS200 tip on ebay? TRD bodykit, low miles (compared to your 100k plus) DEFINITE head turner, more power, and yes it is an auto but with the tip gearbox! As it's an import I wouldn't worry about taking it to a Lex garage, just find a specilist in your area that knows their stuff. Worried about parts etc? Plenty of ppl know about the Altezza, our resident experts Supracharged and AltezzaScott, to name a few Companies? TDI, Fensport, Whifbitz, option, Nemesis. Dont know what you could get it for but say you got it for £6.8k or £7k thats a bargain! I know I would.......... altezza
  4. f*ck me.......ganador mirrors too! looks one mean mofo!
  5. The CF bonnet is Shaweeeeet! Where from? How much? Don't need bonnet pins? Pre drilled for washer jets? How much lighter? Very nice.......... apologies for the q's!
  6. I know the cd players/HU work fine. The text comes up in english as well. In terms of dvd players and screens, I woul d have thought they would be the same. Tell them you are bringing it back to uk and ask if they should work. I know my parents bought a panasonic one (few years back now) and they said that if there were any problems to take it back next time they were there (I think they assumed they went back to HK often! :) I take it you live in cardiff? Where abouts? As my fmaily live in Bridgend and my wifey studied in cardiff!
  7. nice find! Shed loads of pics tho'! Still downloading!
  8. Dammit! I need to fill the space there too. Mine has a blank space with 2 tapped holes?? Any ideas what and where I can buy the badge? a TRD one would be nice or the altezza one
  9. So if I turned up on the day with my tickets in my Altezza, can I park it on the stand?
  10. Was thinking the same thing......... B)
  11. Well at least you got it sorted then! Protech's website dont look too hot! But as it's been recommended by two Altezza owners I might use them when I move from essex to swindon! No chance of you selling it now is there! Seeing as you've developed this 'relationship' Nice one, think it's time to add some mods :winky:
  12. I'll be there.. Don't know if I be taking the Altezza tho' Is it GOLD members only who can park on the stand? Also I do I have to buy tickets thro LOC to get a space on the stand also, as I have normal entrance tickets.........
  13. hertsALTEZZAcol You have PM I looked at my recent BIMTA certificate and this states the mileage on there also. I'm assuming the certificate you have does not show this? That is why you did a mileage check? I emailed BIMTA and mentioned this situation and they said that you must have an older BIMTA certificate?? This is probably not very helpful but as AltezzaScott said contact BIMTA Anyway check your pm......
  14. Jalil, Now you can with all the knowlege knowing it's worth it in the end. good stuff dood :D I must apologise for referring you to Hyline, I looked at companies that were near to you and have had no dealings with them, so sorry for that. Where abouts is this Protech? This forums 'rawks'
  15. Zee I think this is definitely worth thinking about seriously, look at the amount of imports that reach our shores everyday. Who would they go to for servicing and general maintainence? I myself have enquired into specialists that could take care of my Altezza in the south east and luckily westfield motors are pretty close (ish) I personally think that starting off with servicing and direct parts replacement is the safest option to begin with, BUT have the facility to fit performance bits etc. I think with so many performance parts places on the internet and buying direct from Japan etc would be very competitive. I'm all for these specialists, however it's the location that bothers me. I know this is a bit further own the road, however, perhaps setting up a franchise that have various 'garage's dotted around the UK would be the way forward. I wouldn tbe fussed about what the courtesy car is, as long there is access to one. I think the main things are price, vast amount of technical knowlege and honest and friendly. PS.......If you need someone in the south for your future franchise I'd more than willing to jack in my job and help develop it! :)
  16. Alex you dont run the car on the dregs of the fuel do you? Some pumps are cack and they do keep cutting out......... I think if the pump flows too quickly it does that, as this has happened on the wifey's civic too. Try pressing on the lever lightly??
  17. SteveAudioX> I'm in Essex junction 30/31 off the M25........ near a shopping centre called lakeside Duncan> Dammit! you should have fitted one earlier! :P Is it that simple? Is there any truth in the following statement? "The altezzas central locking/alarm (?) is connected to the ECU and to do it properly you will need the ECU taken out to be modified" Seems like bull**** to me now. Could this be retrofitted???
  18. So I'm guessing that the only thing that is stopping you from going the Altezza route is the maintainence of it, yes? If you think you will have problems in servicing etc, why don't you ask around? Let us know whereabouts you're based for starters, there maybe people with imports that are in your area who could give you an idea. Try your local lexus or toyota dealer and ask if they service imports etc. Failing that try locating a garage that specialises in japanese imports and give them a bell? Ok, in terms of parts etc, I wouldn't worry as this community is all you need...... there are some technical minded people who even know part numbers and even work for lexus etc..... there are some good guys who deal only in Altezza's and specialise in them....... they themselves would be able to locate parts I hate to be blatantly obvious but check the sponsor :winky:
  19. SteveAudioX I don't have the car as I will be collecting it soon, so in terms of seeing what they have done I'm not sure. I would like some digi pics if thats possible. I'll send you a pm with email address if it's more convenient?? Thanks again
  20. Steve, I would like to know how this is done, however I'm useless on the electrical side.......... idiots guide version pls? Also you say you've worked on them? What company and whereabouts? (pm if need be) As I might need to take a trip there if its not too far In terms of not using this alarm company.....too late as I needed the car registered, therefore insurance needed a CAT1 certificate etc. The alarm works fine but I just need to use 2 fobs, however I may take it elswhere to 're-do' it properly. Can someone confirm whether locking the door via the key locks all doors? Also pressing the interior locking button, whether this locks all doors? Thanks again!
  21. If you after a set of aftermarket ones speak to SHOTWOOD
