  1. what dealer have you used to be given an incorrect diagnosis i feel its a fob off as the rear box wont be cheap to replace and maybe they dont want to have to pay for it go to en exhaust centre and get a report from them with a cost to have it replaced then send a copy of the report & repair bill to the centre & group manager & lexus Uk letting them know if they dont repair it you'll get it repaired and forward the bill to them
  2. the only thing that spoils the wheels are the rusty locking wheel nuts i had some silver wheel paint and gave my nuts a quick paint they look great now
  3. have you checked the state of charge in the battery when it gets low your issue can happen your car is 6 going 7 years old so is probably on the original battery and possibly due a replacement
  4. the rust on the calipers may of been because the last owner lived by the coast and regarding the seat if the car has been used for just around town stop / start journey's there may of been alot of getting in & out of the car hence the wear you can see. if the car doesn't need a service right now ask for them to include the next service in the price and ask for a touch up paint stick its always handy to have one incase you get a stone chip you can cover it up before it has chance to rust
  5. Hi Dilsha with the battery being in the passenger compartment of the car in the event of a rear end accident the occupants could get showered with battery acid, with an Absorbed Glass Mat (AGM battery) there is no liquid sloshing around in the battery .... yes you've guessed it, its absored by the glass mat making it safe to have inside the car. its not to say a normal battery wont keep everything running its just not as safe as the AGM.
  6. here is a link for a 2nd hand door mirror this company has loads of door mirrors for the ct https://www.synetiq.co.uk/parts-breaking/details/passengers-wing-mirror-lexus-ct--zwa10--2014-on-white-door-mirror---warranty/-/278620/
  7. this is the sort of module you'll need https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/333709254572 aliexpress link https://www.aliexpress.com/af/auto-folding-mirror-module.html?d=y&origin=n&SearchText=auto+folding+mirror+module&catId=0&initiative_id=SB_20210124052246
  8. you'll need new mirrors so you'll have the folding motors, an new switch & possibly extra wiring the cheapest option would be to buy replacement folding mirrors and then buy a 3rd party folding mirror module for about £15, your mirrors would then open & close when locking / unlocking the car
  9. i'm guessing its price based and not whats best for the car, the yokohama tyres lexus use to fit are so noisy i could never understand why they would fit a noisy tyre to a car from the quiet revolution (kylie tv advert)
  10. i know its easy to say something when it doesn't effect you but if you where driving when you had another seizure and your car collided into a vehicle , pedestrian a child and the outcome for the involded wasn't good how would you feel after speaking to your Gp ask them to put it in writing in plain english that you can drive so there is no mis understanding or mis interpretation from anyone that may ask to read the letter
  11. HI Martin and welcome to the forum glad your liking your Ct is it the tapturn flasher relay you purchased.
  12. below is a quote for my last IS300h F Sport 255/35/18 & 225/40/18 tyres at £418.81 is a pretty good price and then there is a 5% discount code TY5NTADV that is to be applied so the price would be just under £400
  13. here is an offer from National tyres where you can take 6 months to pay for your tyres interest free https://www.national.co.uk/information/payment-assist
  14. i agree with linas dont skrimp on tyres and always buy the best tyre you can afford, you have a good car don't ruin it because you cant stop in the wet
  15. how did you get it closed when the hinges are now bent due to there being a U shaped fold point to allow the hinges to bend so the bonnet can move upwards, if there is no other damage to the car you will probably need the following items the 2 gas charges that cost a fortune , 2 new hinges after them being distorted, a reset of the air bag module and possibly a new pressure sensor tube. if you have radar (ACC) fitted to your car you'll need this recalibrating if the bumper has to be removed to replace the pressure tube. do you have any photos of your car after the incident
  16. standard feature from the Bmw stable ( wasnt ticked on the options list)
  17. you'll need to change your Quote from " I need to get my wheels refurbished . . I keep curbing them and I'm crying so much on the inside . . . " to something like i need to look after my refurbished wheels . .and stop kerbing them so i can be proud of them
  18. if the forum had a prize for the worst wheels you'd of won it stuart without any doubt
  19. dont drive until you've had confirmation from your gp
  20. in the words of clarkson " how hard can it be "
  21. in the GS the battery is in the near side rear quarter inside the boot, the 12v Battery is the Achilles heel of all vehicles, take too much out of the battery and your vehicle wont start, the issue is how quick you get to that point of having a non starter, but as long as your aware of what can happen then it shouldn't be an issue.
  22. is there anyway to make the interior lighting go to full brightness when entering the car rather than have the fade in ,is there an easy way to remove the led light or do you have to release the whole overhead console. thanks
  23. is there a feature called night mode on the IS so when it goes dark the un necessary lights are turn off
  24. the only thing i would do differently is to check the new battery pack is the correct one for your car before you totally strip it out.
