  1. What mpg were you hoping to achieve and how were you hoping to achieve it? 70+ on the motorway is not good for mpg, neither is short trips round town. Mpg is worse in winter. Over time you will get used to driving like miss daisy and will enjoy wafting along the road in quiet luxury.
  2. Ok stormchaser as yours is white let me know your address and I will post it on. Paul
  3. Check out eBay. They have a few including a black one.
  4. I have a white MK 1 minichamps Lexus CT model car that is collecting dust on my bookcase. If anyone with a white MK 1 CT would like a model of their car, PM me your address and I will send it to you to give it a new home. (UK only addresses please) Thanks. Paul
  5. You could stick it in park/neutral and put the parking brake on if you are going to be stopped for a while. But a bit of a pain I know. Most people just sit there with the foot on the brake dazzling the car behind. It is not recommended to leave it in drive with the parking brake on.
  6. He said that the glasscoat had protected the paint so he just needed to rework the paint to get it to blend in to fill the gaps without adding any new paint. I think they soften the paint up a bit then move the paint molecules about a bit to fill the bare patch.
  7. When I bought my IS I opted to have the paint work glasscoated and took out the smart insurance. Recently I was unlucky enough to get a scratch on the drivers door from some careless motorist who parked next to me. After I had washed and polished it the door looked like this. So I made a claim on the smart insurance. They came out to fix it today and I am happy to say the mark has completely gone. It only took him a few minutes and the paintwork is back to its best and it only cost me £10 excess. He said because I had the glasscoat it had saved him from having to apply any paint. Well worth the cost of the glasscoat and smart insurance if you ask me.

  9. As a note of caution, do not scrape frost off privacy glass with an ice scraper. I am still annoyed at being charged £500 at trade in time for scratches on the privacy glass by the money grabbing Lexus dealer I traded it in at. I use warm water to melt the ice then a sponge to wipe it off.
  10. Keep us informed of your Tesla experiences when you get them. I am sure a lot of members would be considering a Tesla if the costs made sense.
  11. Standard SarNav does not. Don't know about the premier. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  12. Colin, your avatar picture is spooky, it's exactly the same as my mii character.
  13. I wouldn't pay to much attention to the details on auto trader. There was an engine tweak between the facelift models. Enough to get the co2 down so that a spare wheel could be put back in and keep the co2 into the free tax bracket. Don't know about what affect that had on bhp.
  14. The facelift model was late 2013. Mine was pre facelift and the suspension was one of the reasons I swapped for an IS. The facelift models are apparently better but I have never driven one so could not say. Easy way to tell the facelift model is the bigger spindle grill and shark fin Ariel.
  15. Hi Richard, welcome to the forum. In a word, Yes! It's a Lexus, one of the most reliable cars around, and hybrid technology is not new. How many Prius cars are still on the road after 10 years. Only reservation would be the ride quality of the older CTs are not good. Make sure you have a good test drive first. I had a 63 plate CT advance that had a built in Tom Tom so the satnav was good and it had a camera. May be worth looking for one of those if your budget will allow. Paul
  16. I wouldn't be surprised if someone like Toyota didn't but Tesla when their finances came home to roost. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
  17. Happy with Lexus, would go for another IS or if they did a hatchback or estate that was more comfortable than the CT (I miss the rear wash wipe). The NX and RX are too big. I would prefer a plug in hybrid but would never go back to petrol only, and I have never owned a diesel. I am not convinced that an all electric would have the range. There may be times when you unexpectedly need to do longer journeys. I wish Lexus would do a plug in hybrid. Most of my other cars have been Honda.
  18. Colder weather. But 28 seems very poor. Have you changed your driving style or the type of driving you do Best results are on longish journeys on A roads at about 50 mph.
  19. Mine got a clean and polish today too. Oops how did that sneak in.
  20. See TPMS button thread. Sorry can't work out how to paste a link so I've bumped it up so you should be able to find it
  21. The IS looks nice but I think they are overdoing the air intake to cool the brakes. I would not like to be a pedestrian hit by them. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
