  1. I have the 2 year warranty on my IS250C taken out last November @ £795 on ten monthly direct debits of £79.50. Hardly miss it ! I had cause to claim earlier this year when the nearside headlamp assembly allowed water and condensation in. I was asked for photographs of the problem and replacement was authorised immediately. I understand the headlamp assembly is in the order of £600, so taking into account the AA membership I have had my money's worth already . I have a further 14 months still to run on my warranty. If I decide to sell the car, it will enhance its value (secure a sale easier !) as the warranty is transferrable to a new owner for just £25. Lexus servicing during the warranty period is mandatory I understand.
  2. I had a saloon IS250 before the convertible and I had the plugs changed when the fuel pressure recall was done last year. Lexus Cardiff only charged me for the plugs.....so that was a really good deal !
  3. My experiences with the extended warranty are as follows: 1. 2008 IS250 SEL 70k with full service history, albeit 2 services from an independent. Lexus Cardiff insisted on a full inspection before agreeing to a Lexus extended warranty. 2. 2009 IS250C SEL (current vehicle) 33k with full Lexus service history. Lexus Cardiff arranged the extended warranty over the phone for me.
  4. I don't see a problem with the design.......I would see a problem with maintenance costs on a Merc in the long term !
  5. My dealer is 60 miles away. That's why I use eBay. Sent from my HTC One_M8 using Tapatalk
  6. Not sure it's the "best" place, but eBay is the most convenient for me. It's a while ago now so can't provide a link. I'm happy with the 2 lots I've bought. Just make an assessment of their feedback before ordering.
  7. I didn't have engine braking in mind when I made this post. I agree it wouldn't be ideal in snow. I was thinking more of controlling the shifting of gears so that you can travel in as high a gear as possible.
  8. Lexus Roadside Assistance follows under separate cover. At least mine did on the two occasions I've taken out the Lexus warranty.
  9. Never use the car satnav.....it won't take full postcodes ! Can't be arsed reading about how it works. I have Sygic on my phone and it is nearly faultless.....£18 one-off lifetime payment.
  10. I've successfully used breakeryard.com for my Saab. Appear to be an agency who act on behalf of breakers around the country. I found them to be very good when I used them.
  11. Welcome Dale. Good to see another member from South Wales. Enjoy your car !
  12. Sygic is available as a free one month trial. To subscribe is a one off payment of £18 (was when I did it). I mostly use a screen mounted holder, readily available on eBay for all phones. Sometimes I'll just stand the phone in the cup holder as the verbal instructions are mostly sufficient. Sygic offer a heads up display facility from the phone too, I don't have this. Been using it over a year and receive frequent updates. I strongly recommend trying it. Sent from my HTC One_M8 using Tapatalk
  13. It's nowhere to be found. I've exhausted all possibilities. Anyone else found it and managed to change light sensitivity ?
  14. No, I explored all menus. No reference in the manual either. Sent from my HTC One_M8 using Tapatalk
  15. I'd like my lights to come on sooner too. The facility referred to isn't in my Navigation menu.
  16. Phil summarises what was behind my point : "- add late returners & people who think a hire car is just there to have the bo**cks thrashed off them + daily fall outs over scuffs and knocks. "
  17. That's a business. Would you rent your home out, furnished, to any Tom, ***** or Harry ?
  18. I'd be very concerned trying to shift a £25k motor without being able to offer p/x. Under £10k lends itself to private sales in my opinion. Not sure that everyone wants diesels, there's been some bad publicity in recent months concerning the emissions on diesel engines.
  19. I have sourced my last six vehicles via eBay and disposed of the old one through the same route. My vehicles for sale have always sold within a day or two. I believe the secret is to describe very accurately (warts and all) with loads of good quality photographs. I wouldn't expect lack of finance facilities to hinder as bank loans are readily available at the click of a mouse. Depending on the value of the vehicle, I suspect lack of part exchange facility may hinder. You going to tell us what car ? Good luck Jack.
