  1. And here too....... http://www.lexls.com/tutorials/suspension/diffchange.html different generation, but normally very similair.
  2. Pete, I am still very interested for my LS400, '95 Mk III. As the Prins VSI is a multi point system, does this mean in the future I could have it removed from the LS400 and fitted to a 6 or 4 cylinder motor in the future, maybe it will need a different regulator and/or injectors. Am I right to think that the 2-3 days is so that the car can be road tested, and the ECU will self learn to keep the lambda at 1.0 ? Will the install include the software and laptop cable? For the price you quote, you mention a spare wheel tank, will the LS400 conversion have an 84 L tank? 'cos i want a big tank, and a bit of bahing is fine by me. Actually, is it possible to have the tank in advance and do the bashing myself? Is there anything else I can do myself, maybe to keep the cost down? Where will the conversion take place, post code or town please, because I think you are in the North, This will add to my cost. Is there a "pre-install" check? I guess any warranty claims will be sorted fine, but I am in the south, J4 on the M3. Also, I have seen this, http://www.p-i-fuelsystems.co.uk/crossjet_...nstructions.htm What does your installer man think of them? Seems like a good idea to avoid tapping into the intake manifold. Thanks in advance....
  3. I am VERY interested too. Wish for multi point, a big tank and I am just off M3 J4.
  4. these guys might be able to help - if not useful info here: http://www.lextreme.com/egr.html miq This article on lexextreme refers to the UCF10 engine (mkii and mkii) On the MKiii the EGR pipe comes in 2 halves. I beleive it was an updated design to make replacement a little easier. (questionable???) I too had a blowing pipe and it is VERY annoying after a couple of thousand miles. It took about 6 hours for me to replece it and the part was about £60 back in Dec 05. Like "RAC" says, it is having the tools that helps. I too managed it by getting on top of the engine, also did part from underneath, with a "string hoist" acting like a second hand because access is so limited. PM me and I will email a set of pics over.
  5. Barney, This may give you some clues, it is a "TVSS IV – MPX" http://www.thatcham.org/security/pdfs/cate...ngerCarCAT1.pdf I would say that you have a cat-1 system without doubt, it tells you th efeatures too. All decent cars after 1995 have a cat-1 system fitted by factory, importer or dealer. Or call Lexus GB, and go through to the technical dept and ask them. Or call Thatcham and ask for the details of "TC2 – 507/0798", tell that ref no to your insurance company. Look inside the drivers manual, in the UK the first 8 pages has a dealer stuck in alarm section, could be some more details here too. If it is an import car, it will be a lot harder.
  6. I have experienced the same with my old 95 Mk III. After charging the battery for about 6 hours, a long run and putting some jump leads in the boot, it has been fine for the last year. I suspect that it has the original battery too, 13 years old and 170,000 miles of motoring. Quality !!!
  7. found this one.... http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/1994-LEXUS-LS400-SIL...id=p3286.c0.m14 unfortunately it is a MK II at least it shows that they are available. Try Swift, they are based on the south coast and they break LS400. Search for Swift here and you will find their number. The towbar from Watling is good, and looks good too. 2 bolts remover and the towball and arm slides out, just like a removeable swan nexk tow bar. I'll see if I can post a picture for you after the weekend.
  8. I noticed that one of the LS400s on ebay yesterday clearly had a towbar fitted. I'm sure you would get it for a lot less than £220. And if you were to remove it from the broken car, you would know exactly how to fit it to your car. I know that the MK I & II cars are different from Mk III and also from Mk IIII, so make siue you get the right one. BTW, your car may be "worthless" from an investment point of view, but it is Best Value from my view, cheap to buy and it is a fifty grand car, with supreme luxury , ride and good performance. Good luck.
  9. If you have a Mark III car........ you would have found this in the search. Pretty easy to fit at home, and the LS400 is a great tow car. Just dont forget you are towing when the trailer is hitched up. http://www.lexusownersclub.co.uk/forum/ind...&hl=watling
  10. I do not think that the Lexus shut line for the door is any/much narrower than any other car. What does concern me a little is that the door shut line is very high on the roof line, rather than many other cars where the shut line is more on the side of the car rather than the roof. Look at the shut lines from behind the car and you should see what i mean. Because of this, there does not seem to be much bodywork for a roof bar fixing to anchor round. However, I do have a 1995 car, and this may be different to a 1994 car (or old)? If your car meeets the spec in the advert, you should be ok. If you are that worried, try contacting the seller and pay for it on a credit card, then you will be much better protected too if you need to return it. Look forward to hearing how it goes. I have seen roof bars listed for older LS400s (pre 1994) from Thurle and I think "mont blanc"
  11. Good News :) I have manged to get the new bushes in and re assembled the wishbone. Last night I did the other side of the car. It took less than half the time so far and I have taken a load of pics. Pictorial Tutorial to follow shortly and the parts are the right sizes.
  12. How about these ? http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?Vie...em=280241383702
  13. Unfortunately my beautifull 1995 LS400 Mk III failed it's MOT with excessive play in inner rear bushes on the rear wishbones, both sides. The tester showed me, yes you can feel play in the wheel and see the wishbone mounting moving when the wheel is wiggled. Has any one replaced these bushes, I am using some ADUS 578 bushes (or bushings as they are reffered to in the USA) purchased from LDP Autoparts on ebay.com as reccomded by some US owners. The problem seems to be that the top hats are too big and the wishbone unit is now too long to fit back into the subframe mountings. A picture will follow tomorrow, so you can see my dylema.
  14. Hi Nitmoi, Did you get your bushes (bushings) in the end. I too was quoted £160 for a wishbone in the uk, 200 USD from Sewell lexus, and then got a pair of bushing from LDPAutoparts on ebay.com . I should be fitting them next weekend.
  15. No idea, but I just got some bushes (called Bushings in the States) from lpdautoparts at www.ebay.com
  16. I installed a towbar from Watling Engineering on my 95 MKiii. A good piece of kit and can be detachable with the removal of just 2 bolts.
  17. 168 k miles, 1995 Mk III, sweet as a nut just needs new bushes on rear wishbones for MOT.
  18. "hundred pounds" assuming it is 1 hunder pounds is a stonking bargain. I was with RAC and now direct line, over 40 and out side London. Premiums are 400 fully comp.
  19. brakes afe different, as are lots of major engine parts.
  20. £52 today....... http://www.camskill.co.uk/products.php?plid=m4b0s457p1678 Delivered to your door, most fitters will fit for a tenner each.
  21. Helped me..... many thanks.
  22. Has any one got a roof rack or roof bars for a Mk III? I'd really appeciate to know what make they are and where they may be available. So far I have only found units for "upto 1994" cars. Many thanks in advance.
  23. i "think" i read a post on here a while ago on the same topic and the poster stated that Lexus system is a bit different. For the light to be OFF, the wire must be connected and when the pad gets low, the connection is worn away and the light comes ON. Your light being ON, "could" be caused by having non lexus parts and not having the wire connected. it will be worth searching the site for more info. good luck and please post your solution, as i'm sure you will find one.
  24. MiQ, how did you get on, i need to get my drivers seat fixed too, but I like to do some more research before taking the seat out or delving into any wiring looms?
