Its a strange outlook in this country, we still base our opinion on a cars mileage as we did in the 70s, your average Ford Cortina or Hillman Avenger was scrap by the time it hit 90,000 miles, that's if it even made it that far, today modern engines will hit 300.000 miles if looked after, big diesels regularly hit 600,000 miles before major maintenance issues.
I have a Honda Civic, it had 126,000 miles on it when I bought it, one owner with full history, I would trust it to go to the moon and back................
As long as the general public shy away from "big mileage cars", it leaves some great bargains for those of us in the know.
