  1. The new 2018 RC-F now produces 457 BHP @7100 down from 471BHP due to Euro 6 emissions regs!!! I assume the other V8 models will follow suit. Me thinks Lexus need to be introducing a new engine, and soon, this NA V8 has clearly had its day.
  2. It would be the very same one, if you could up your budget a little @Blista you could do worse than take a look at this car, 45k full Lexus history, brand new set of Bridgestones just before I sold it and as I said it is the superfast Blue model.........................
  3. There is a nice ultrasonic Blue one for sale at Lexus Cheltenham I believe, facelift model, aftermarket exhaust, and original, very nice car apparently............
  4. As @Big Rat says, parts available from March, they say mine will be done that month, fine by me.
  5. Drink the Champagne while I wait for the Fire Services to turn up.................
  6. Interesting, I haven't heard anything about this, Oh well just wait for the recall notice and hope it doesn't go up in flames beforehand............
  7. Yes, absolutely spot on, as you say if someone from the company that underwrites the warranty has a look at a particular claim and the car has aftermarket non Lexus approved parts fitted then that is their "out". It would be interesting to know how often this happens, they clearly need to police the dealers to validate the warranty claims...........BUT.............my car is still sat there with an aftermarket exhaust fitted and it will leave with the new owner and 12 months warranty and I would love to know what would happen in the event of a claim..............a member on here had issues on his Isf with the steering rack, replaced under warranty at, from memory around £3500, now, if the car had an aftermarket exhaust system and an underwriter from the warranty company checked the claim could he attribute the aftermarket exhaust to the failure of the steering rack, I think we all know the answer to that one.... I think it is a real grey area Sean, and I think its going to be pot luck with each claim open to scrutiny.
  8. I cant work out if that is the case Sean, Cheltenham have my Isf for sale with the aftermarket exhaust on the car and will presumably stick a 12 month warranty on it when they sell it. When, or if the car comes back for a warranty job, the dealer will obviously be paid for carrying out the work and it will therefore not be in their interest to make a song and dance about the exhaust, I am not disagreeing with your statement I just think it is not in the dealers interest to make a big deal about every type of modification.
  9. No way does the exhaust bump the power up to 460bhp, it sounds just like my old one when I had the exhaust fitted, really good but no noticeable increase in power.
  10. Had cooled seats on diesel is I had a few years ago, these were great on the few hot days we had, quite a strange feeling really, I have fans in the Gsf seats although I think this is just for ventilation as opposed to actually cooling, not had chance to try them yet.
  11. They just look amazing in that colour, great car mate.
  12. Its a strange outlook in this country, we still base our opinion on a cars mileage as we did in the 70s, your average Ford Cortina or Hillman Avenger was scrap by the time it hit 90,000 miles, that's if it even made it that far, today modern engines will hit 300.000 miles if looked after, big diesels regularly hit 600,000 miles before major maintenance issues. I have a Honda Civic, it had 126,000 miles on it when I bought it, one owner with full history, I would trust it to go to the moon and back................ As long as the general public shy away from "big mileage cars", it leaves some great bargains for those of us in the know.
  13. Maybe they got hold of my GoPro footage from the Blats.............................
  14. Good question, I would like to see on e in the flesh. The caliper colour is original @Flytvr
  15. Absolutely spot on, the depreciation is massive from new to who knows where, in a way I don't care, I wanted the car the price was the price and I paid it, and I absolutely love it, I whatever it is worth when I come to change I will deal with at the time, until then I will enjoy my pride and joy..........................
  16. That's an interesting point you make Sean, I think the Gsf in blue especially, and white is far from a sleeper, in black I would agree, the carbon accents don't stand out, nor do the wheels, I think the Gsf is the most colour sensitive model in the "F" line up which is good if you want to blend into the background, however(here we go) I cannot be accused of being in that camp!!!
  17. I always insured my Isf with Lexus insurance, I found their prices very reasonable, didn't insist on a tracker and the customer service in the event of a claim was second to none. Sadly the quote for my Gsf was very high in comparison to others and I left them.
  18. Yes, you need to do a piece on how good the car is, doubt there will be much to talk about though.............................
  19. Ahhh but that is because I am normally completely out of control and once the corner / roundabout have come into focus they are about 150 metres closer than I originally thought they were, its the car that does it..................nothing to do with me.............................
  20. Nice one Ratty, I should be there.
  21. @Big Rat will be along soon to tell you all about it......................................
  22. Great looking car, a big hike in power compared to the is200!!, you will find yourself arriving at corners and roundabouts a lot faster than you are used to.......... welcome to the club.
  23. @Flytvr wont need brakes for years as he has the superlight Carbon version of the Rcf and @Big Rat you wont need them either as you never press the bloody brake pedal..........
  24. Pagid are owned by TMD Friction who are "partners" with Brembo, probably a financial stake in the company hence some parts are cross manufactured.
  25. Happy Birthday Paul and congratulations on the new motor, have a great day and I will see you soon.
