  1. Hi Danny The check lights are just a general fault indication and can be caused by a number of issues. Sometimes, they can be triggered by something as simple as the fuel filler cap not being screwed on properly. If the warning light came on shortly after you put fuel in the car, just make sure the cap is properly fitted - I kid you not. Otherwise, you need to have the fault diagnosed by someone with the correct software (techstream) and knowledge before forking out on expensive repairs.
  2. Hi Mathew Welcome to the club. Have to say, your two cars are 'chalk 'n cheese' aren't they
  3. I'm not sure that the dealer can simply evade responsibility under the law. I would be inclined to contact Trading Standards/CAB and see what your rights are. Also, may be worth contacting Honest John as his advice is normally pretty accurate and fair. Also, I would consider if you can cancel the AA warranty (not as described) and look into getting a Lexus warranty instead. Good luck with getting sorted out in any case.
  4. Thanks for updating the topic. Adds to the knowledge base
  5. The seller has a very strange attitude, very touchy indeed.
  6. Your colour code is on a label where the vin code is on the passenger side center pillar, open the passenger door and you should see it.
  7. Good luck with this, interested to know how it goes.
  8. Haven't you just bought this? Was it from a dealer? If so, I would go back and ask them. At least get them to check it out
  9. Good luck James, hope it's a good 'un :)
  10. Personally, I would chalk the Headlight adjuster up to experience. I appreciate it may rankle but think it would be a battle to get your money back after more than a year. I would also consider if you are going to return to the same Lexus dealer in future.
  11. makes you wonder how they think they can get away with an obvious stunt like this.
  12. This post generated a lot of interest. I think because a) members thought you had been unfairly refused cover and b) because the general experience of members regarding the Lexus extended warranty has been very positive with claims usually going through without any of the hassle that might commonly have been expected on the schemes available to the general public. I had assumed that the warranty was through Lexus/Toyota GB or a subsiduary, so I am surprised that a 3rd party is providing cover. I am glad that you have got a satisfactory result in the end. Given the potential cost if you hadn't taken the warranty, I think you've had a major result - it will help the resale value considerably should you decide to sell the car in the future.
  13. On these forums some dealers reputations are matter for debate - hence my comment. No personal experience just hearsay. Agree with @rayaans it's unlikely you will get a definitive statement, but the weight of argument is on your side.
  14. Have you spoken to Lexus warranty direct? It may be just the dealer/individual being 'difficult' The wear and tear argument is particularly difficult to comprehend and justify where the vehicle is within the 10 year/140K limit and there is no specific exclusion on the lifetime of HV Battery. How exactly have you worn it out? Mileage? Age? So what is the cut-off? 100K? 110K? 8,9,10 years? If there is one, why is that not part of the T&C's?
  15. I would take this to show you are covered (from Lexus website) See where it says (HV battery on Hybrids is covered)
  16. Very nice video! Good editing as well. Thanks for sharing this
  17. That makes sense if you are on 17" rims, I thought you were talking about running 245/40x18 So do you run 235/45x17 in winter because 245/45x17 aren't available or are too costly?
  18. @madasahatter are you on standard lexus rims or aftermarket? did you fit 245/40 or were they fitted when you bought the car?
  19. Has anyone had any dealings with this company? https://www.glaswelduk.com/scratch-repair
  20. I've got 225 on Front and 255 on Rear which I believe is standard for 18" wheels. If you want winter tyres then you would have to change to 225/245 as 255's are not available
