  1. guy's, you were right look much better today (rotors not the alloys)
  2. Gave my IS250 a good wash and clean today, little bit too sunny but there we go However, when cleaning the wheels (I know they are in serious need of a refurb) I noticed that my front disc rotors looked quite rusty - not quite how I expected and certainly more rusty looking than the rears. When my IS went in for the recall, the brakes on the loan car were noticeably better, now this has me wondering if my front calipers are not working properly. Any thoughts welcome
  3. My car also has some fine vertical scratch marks on the drivers window, it is fairly common but still annoying. Any second hand window you might find is also likely to have similar marks. There's a possibility they might polish out, maybe a professional detailer might be able to do it? Don't replace the windscreen unless there is no choice as it's reported that the rain sensing wipers often don't work properly afterwards.
  4. I believe that the nav/touch screen has to be fitted to get bluetooth/hands free - the steering wheel dial/hang up buttons are missing on models without nav option.
  5. SE-L only features; 1. Xenon Headlights (washer covers on front bumper, headlight wash button on dash, headlight dance on start up) 2. Wood dash trim on doors and center console 3. Seat memory buttons on front doors. 4. Rear Window Shade 5. Rain Sensing Wipers
  6. Got my advisory letter yesterday. Wonder how long before they issue the recall?
  7. There isn't a single frame in the rearview video that shows the reg no. clearly. So we can't be 100% certain that we have got the reg no. right. However, I think it probably is right and good enough to report the incident as, if we are correct, not only was he/she driving dangerously, they were also driving while uninsured and taxed - and these are the people who do cause accidents as they are driving without concern for other users. http://www.manchestereveningnews.co.uk/news/greater-manchester-news/rochdale-142mph-death-crash-letter-9350135 http://www.gazettelive.co.uk/news/teesside-news/andrew-corfield-died-multiple-injuries-8130532 Often, as here, the one who walks away is the offender. <rant off>
  8. @Venator thanks for that - simples!
  9. Sorry for twenty questions, but how do you do this thing with forum handles?
  10. MOT history is not too clever either. Where did u find the insurance/tax details?
  11. Well it will be a shame if it does go, you'll have to vet potential purchasers and get references I am surprised you've not had much interest, wish I had the cash lol. As you say, I'm sure you will be happy whichever way things turn out. Good luck in any case.
  12. This is the clearest I can make it. Appears to be VK06 FRP which is a black Ford Focus diesel according the MOT website
  13. Possibly not an IS-F owner for much longer?
  14. Hi Huutch Welcome to LOC I can't comment as to the IS-F specifics as I'm not lucky enough to own one Regarding the rear seats, it is cramped but mostly for adults, I'm on the short side and my grown-up daughters are OK in the rear seats. But my daughters boyfriend who is well over 6ft has to sit in the front. The boot is roomy enough I find, but not being able to fold the seats down limit the practicality. But that's not why you're looking at the IS-F is it? I think general servicing costs from Lexus are reasonable, they're all listed on the lexus website. If you're worried about unforeseen bills then a Lexus Warranty plan is worth considering. By all accounts (do a forum search) repairs under warranty go through without any of the quibbling that some 3rd party warranty plans have a reputation for. One condition for Lexus Warranty is that the car must be serviced by Lexus.
  15. No data on the Jag or Merc, but the BMW was last MOT'd in May 2010 at 151K
  16. Might be worth letting us know whereabouts you're located, someone may be able to recommend a paintshop/auto refinisher in your area.
  17. Ha, you're not wrong! Looks sweet, that front bumper scuff should'nt cost too much to sort out. Dealer or Private sale? Care to share how much?
  18. The LS400 featured in the Top Grear video is still on the road according to the MOT checker, last MOT'd 13th June 2016 at 161,471 miles.
  19. Well you do have the satisfaction of knowing it's been done properly. BTW, what was the condition of the plugs you took out?
  20. No, otherwise everyone would want one Did you get a moonroof then? and where's the pics?
  21. So you're not really in Greater London then? AFAIK it's a 'potential' safety issue - if the airbag deploys the inflator might send metal fragments flying into the car due to the possibility of a faulty weld during manufacture It is important enough for them to be bothered, hence the recall. I would wait for your letter and ring Lexus to discuss. If your circumstances make it difficult to get to a Lexus agent they might be able to make arrangements. You won't know until you've spoken to them.
  22. You don't need to register. As long as the DVLA know you are the registered keeper, then any recall notices will be sent to you. I don't know if a Toyota dealer will do the work. I suspect not. I expect they will let you have a loan car for the day and on the last recall, they put £25 worth of fuel in the tank to compensate for inconvenience.
  23. Hi Kris Congrats on your purchase, they're a heck of a lot of car for the money. I've got the same model/year as you and it's the best car I've ever owned. If you're referring to the SatNav screen message telling you to "Drive Safely, obey traffic rules" etc, then AFAIK this can't be turned off. It's a symptom of the nanny state we live in.
