  1. It’s a design fault by Lexus , or wrong choice of leather , I had my drivers seat replaced , under warranty and within months of getting in And out really carefully, it is again badly worn , it’s my biggest complaint I have with the car .
  2. I have noticed the date on the new tyres are 2018 , which means they have been hanging around in storage for maybe a year ? Maybe they are dry , hard something like that , which may affect their performance. Interestingly the price quoted by the dealer for the Yokohama’s was only slightly more than my local tyre garage .
  3. On my 2104 model , Not F or premier, you can lock the fold down seats from inside the boot , also 60/40
  4. Checked her pressure, 35 psi which seems about right , definitely Not overinflated, and the wheels feel solid , no movement. Still waiting for the dealer to return my calls ......😡
  5. Just been reading reviews for Nexen are they are excellent, they were £30 cheaper ( each ) than Yokohama but They were rated better for sound and other things so it seemed to be a no brainer . on research on Google , the “ sliding & swaying “ could be loose wheel nuts or over inflated tyres . i will take it back to Dealer regardless I think , better safe than sorry .
  6. HAve done the same thing , but it does say in the screen, “ key located in car “ or similar, once I finally saw that message I realised there had to Be another key in the car that we were trying to lock ? .it was in boot in another coat . As for Lexus being rare , I did the Heathrow run yesterday,5 hour round trip , saw several NX and RX , One IS300 And a GS . I have done the journey before and not seen one Lexus ! I think they are getting more popular now , especially with the arrival of the UX . ( not that I have seen a UX on the road yet !!)
  7. Last week had new tyres fitted by the dealer , something I would never do , normally go to local tyre fitters , when driving at speed 70 + it feels like the rear tyres are swerving from side to side , at one point it felt very unnerving. My neighbour told me the other day , more tyres take 100 miles to settle in ? Not experienced this before ? On the way back from Heathrow, 100 miles each way , they did seem ok . Do I call dealer and make a point , insist on a check up , or go with it for a bit longer ? Any advice appreciated. Previous tyres Yokohama , new on rear are Nexen , Nfera.
  8. Is it ? That’s useful to know . The garage recommended Yokohama or Nexus , which were cheaper but actually rated better so I chose them .
  9. Where is the date code ? What a Muslim I’m looking for and wha5 should they Be ? My point is , not long ago I Neve heard of having new tyres be cause they are perished , and when you can only see the person tyre with extreme scrutiny ? Just looks like another convenient money mAker
  10. Has anyone experienced this new phenomenon, you take car for service , the tread is excellent, but the tyres are “ perished “ , cracks etc ? just had 2 new tyres fitted but after speaking to friends I’m beginning to wish I just left it for a year or two ?
  11. I saw this the same as what is now offered as an extra £30 on a service ? . I was told it was some kind of emissions cleaner ? . Can it only be done with an oil change or is it just added to the fuel ?
  12. Never heard of a “ local council MOT testing centres” ??? Will have to do a search for one
  13. Those figures quoted are crazy !? I had all discs and pads replaced on Jaguar XF about 3 years ago at a Jag main dealer for under £1000 . I was horrified at the time. Did you get a quote from Halfords or Kwikfit ?
  14. W sorry , but I have actually done over 90 mpg !!! will have to try and work out how to post the photo !?
  15. I have mentioned the leather seats on numerous occasions, I have then cream leather , And the seats have been scuffed and worn despite being replaced and despite me being so careful getting in and out of the car . There is definitely an issue with the leather on these seats ,i have had many other cars with leather seats in the past , anemone none of them have worn in the same way .
  16. HAve to agree , the one reverse light annoys me ! really miss not having the reverse camera , my previous car , Jag XF had one and parking sensors all round . lexus told me it was one or the other , camera OR sensors , NOT both !? buttons not well lit at nighttime. automatic closing of mirrors should be standard . and new ran roughshod , the cream leather seats mark so easily, had one replaces within weeks it was marked again and looked scuffed , despite enormous care getting in and out , which is another gripe , it’s too low .
  17. And more Tesla’s are bursting into flames , while just sitting , parked ! They look great but wouldn’t touch one with a barge pole
  18. Have to agree with on the UX interior , I looked in 3 of them at Lexus Canterbury, and the interior was disappointing especially the interior door panels, just one piece of cheap moulded plastic . I looked in a NX and it seems far superior
  19. Things are looking up for Lexus 👍
  20. 84,000 miles in 2 years ? Jeezus !!!!! . I have done 25,000 in Three years !
  21. I like the foot operated hand brake . The German cars are boring and common now
  22. Had my 2014 for nearly 3 years , nothing needed doing at all . My one complaint is the cream leather seats , they mark and scuff too easily , had drivers seat changed under warranty .
