  1. Linas is entirely wrong. V-Power petrol will not only make your engine cleaner, faster and more efficient but it's very use makes you more attractive to women. Or men. Whichever. We don't judge. That said, you really were wasting your money with the derv. Used cooking oil would have worked just as well. Yuk.
  2. One of the things I just have to do is get any car as close to stock as possible. Sometimes that involves sourcing parts that play no part in how the car operates but bug the **** out of me if they're missing. So I'm currently sourcing a battery holder but I think I may be missing this too? Can anyone confirm? It's not present in the engine bay but appears to be correct for a '96/'97 LS.
  3. I understand the attraction of using the car system but being totally logical about this, Herbie is quite right. Google Maps just blows it out of the water. Didn't stop me updating on my '06 RX or '02 GS though. I like everything to function as it should. But I think the newest maps I got for either was around 2012, maybe a little later for the RX. If you do decide to update anyway try and look for European sellers. Often the Toyota maps came on multiple discs and an owner in eg Germany doesn't have a use for the UK and Ireland maps hence the listing.
  4. A well maintained 2JZ-GE is a lovely thing.
  5. Cheers Steve. Ordered a non-gen one off the Bay. Seems on a par with the Rockauto ones. Best I could do for genuine was just short of 600 quid from Lexuspartsnow or 950ish from Lexus Sheffield
  6. Need a PAS pump for my '96/'97 LS400. Part number is (I think) 44320-50020 but I'll double check tomorrow. Anyone got one kicking about?
  7. Yes, congratulations Malc. And car. Unfortunately already missed the 25th of mine, build date of July '95. But not registered until January '96 so we still get to party I suppose.
  8. My 83 year old father looks after my IS300 now. I don't let him go out when it's slippy.
  9. Have to say I'm the same. Paid a fortune over the years but largely back where I started, buying Autoglym stuff from Halfords.
  10. Is it this? https://www.lexuspartsdirect.co.uk/parts/lexus-ux/lexus-ux-2018-present/lexus-ux-engine-service-kits/lexus-petrol-fuel-system-cleaner/ Looks like one bottle does a tank so I'd add at below a quarter before filling up.
  11. They're popular on here. Forum sponsors or something. They're actually a main dealer darn saaf somewhere.
  12. Oh I'm just talking out of the back of my neck then. Thought you had a MKIII https://www.lexuspartsdirect.co.uk/parts/category/lexus-gs/lexus-gs-phase-iv-2012-2018/lexus-gs-4-brakes-transmission/
  13. Wow! But that I don't know. I just looked here https://www.lexuspartsdirect.co.uk/parts/category/lexus-gs/lexus-gs-phase-iii-2005-2012/lexus-gs-3-brakes-transmission/ Maybe give them a call. I've spoken to them a couple of times and though I've only ordered once they seem a friendly bunch. Only ordered once because I can nearly see my local dealer from where I'm sat now.
  14. Or try one of these. Marvellous things. I only keep cars about a year and will normally clay (see above, just use water to lube), polish (AG) and seal/wax (Fusso) when I get them. It's part of my playing with cars procedure. I prefer to hand wash if I can because I find it quite therapeutic but I do use the local hand wash because I know them and I never let them use traffic film remover or acid. I do occasionally use an automatic if I haven't got round to the previously mentioned stuff yet and also the kids find it very entertaining Luckily I have a guy who works for me who's well into the whole detailing thing and on the GS and LS he's offered to machine polish and seal them. If I've had that done the automatic is out and I'm less likely to use the hand wash. When I leased new vehicles I used to spend a fortune on different products and put aside days to pamper the car. Since having kids I figure life's too short and the above does me. Tbh I probably prefer getting my hands dirty on the car now.
  15. Very much appreciated. Though I'll probably try and twist @steve2006's arm and get him to do it
  16. More to it than that John. I'm not a wealthy man and none of my recent cars have been economical but they have been enjoyable. None have been on finance either and that lack of £xxx per month buys a lot of fuel!
  17. Unless I'm missing something that's extortion. LPD show £379.20 for front and rear. And I know my local Lexus dealer would match or beat that because they always do.
  18. Just what was used on my LS the other day and it looks great.
  19. No experience with the above but I can recommend the GROM UK aux and Bluetooth devices. Not sure they allow for the steering wheel controls though.
  20. There is what appears to be a slightly odd mind set with main dealers. My '02 IS which has full dealer history and low mileage, can't do enough. The '02 GS with at best patchy history and double the mileage, it's a scrapper, get rid while you can.
  21. Very interesting steve2006wholivesjustdowntheroundfromme Sorry, derailing thread but it happened yesterday and again today. I read up and didn't like what I saw. Me and soldering. Oh no, no.
