  1. First pic tells me you're in manual mode. The gear lever over to the right. 2nd pic tells me you're in full auto. 3rd pic again tells me you're in manual mode. You say you've used paddle shift. I take it the paddles on the steering wheel. What I've noticed in mine when I move the gear stick to the right, manual mode, the gear position indicator stays showing 1 also the middle gear position shows a pre set 4. When I set off the 4 changes to 1 and when I shift to 2nd the display shows 2 whilst the top displays 1. Change to 3rd and the display shows 3 and still the top display shows 1. It can be confusing when you go into manual mode.
  2. Contact Teyes directly. You'll get a reply a day or 2 later. With regard rear camera it will work but depends on a certain wire. I forget which but contact Teyes and all your questions will be answered.
  3. So why bother changing shockers when there's no sign of leakage?
  4. Looked them up and crikey they ain't cheap if you want the lexus logo on but they look ruddy well made.
  5. How do those caliper covers fit? They look rather good.
  6. That was quite a fete set by that modified Tesla model S. 750 miles on a single charge. Outstanding. Wonder how long it takes to charge. Re charging and to what percentage to charge to. Colin stated earlier about the Nio car briefly. Yes it's a Chinese car But launched in Norway. I first saw this Nio on fifth gear recharge. Its the car I'd have if I had the money. This particular car need never be charged by the owner. Why? Because Nio have a number of battery hubs where you take the car to one after its been booked in. You park close to the hub entrance, press a button on your phone or car and the car drives itself (reverses) into the bay. The car is then clamped in position. Just 3 or 4 minutes later a message on the dash says go and away you go for another few hundred miles. The battery has been swapped for a charged one. That's a brilliant system but whether it'll come to the UK is to be seen. There's been too much stated on threads such as this regarding BEV's and the good and bad of them and batteries range and charge rates. Its ruddy BORING. The initial post should be applauded not ridiculed.
  7. Just goes to show the difference between dealer technicians. Very poor quality and nervous tech guy. Blimey your car looks to be in a poor state but being a 2006 car. They're offering you a scrapage value of 3.5k? Unless your heart is in it to get the repairs done at your local garage then take up their offer. Does your car have a current MOT? Does it drive ok? Maybe see what we buy any car would offer but be dead straight with the Info that you give them.
  8. Instead of buying that thumb lock adapter spend the money on a good quality tyre pressure gauge. I bought a pump a good number of years ago because of the car at the time I had where the thumb lock type didn't fit well. The screw on type is just fine but pressure is lost when it's removed. I always over inflate. I absolutely Do Not rely on the gauge on the pump as they're just cheap inaccurate items. I then use a separate pressure gauge to release pressure to the desired pressure.
  9. I'm intrigued by these fuel figures for those American trucks? being 8 mpg. UPS being mentioned so by trucks they're probably 5- 7 ton trucks. They run stop start between just a couple hundred feet to a couple of miles. If they're only getting 8-9 mpg then they all need shooting. By comparison the trucks here average nearer 20 mpg. From what I've heard Amazon are buying hundreds of EV vans which I'm personally wondering if these EV vans have enough of a range considering the drivers won't be driving them economically lol. Just thought I'd mention this.
  10. I'd have said quite similar Linas. But sad news the loss of another Lexus
  11. At the end if the day taste is an INDIVIDUAL thing and by distinction should NOT be mocked by disagreement. The LX600 is a vehicle which needs the right colour to make it look good. Its definitely not to a majority of folks taste. Me? Don't like it. Good post Colin. You just knew it'd get the goat up of quite a few lol 😆
  12. Yes one wonders but the car looks amazing. Excellent paint job.
  13. Lovely looking car that ISF. It's already been stated that your S4 will have more low down grunt because of its supercharger. Lexus engines are in my humble opinion the best there are. They're kind of over engineered and bullet proof, one thing that 3.0 audi supercharged engine isn't. Best way and simplest way to compare both cars is this. Treat the ISF like a 2 stroke motorbike. It'll love it. Your Audi treat as a 4 stroke. (yes I know it sounds daft). For a V8 that 5.0 litre lump is akin to a F1 engine of old. Just enjoy your new car. Get rid of the Audi before it bankrupts you. £2750 ish to do cam chains is an example.
  14. There's no loss of sound quality with the Teyes CC3. There are 2 options of it for the is250. One with built in nav and the other no nav. There's a couple threads on here about upgrades. V line no good for you.
  15. Oh ok. Didn't realise. It was the terrible handling bit that made me react.
  16. Gowd n Bennett. I've got that video on VHS which I've had when it first came out. Effin BRILLIANT. Git the DVD a few years ago too. That vitesse was standard. The mirror was taken off for safety reasons if I remember correctly. I particularly live the sound when the exhaust gave up half way round. Oh did I once have the 2.7 vitesse? To bloody right I did. And it's 2.0 turbo cousin. Both cars handled superbly, yes torque steer but you had to know to overcome that. I had oh so much fun in those cars. Did I take either round the TT course? Unfortunately no But I did take their baby brother the 216 vitesse round and crikey s h a t myself approaching a left when I had no brakes!!!!!!!!!! luckily for me there was waste ground straight ahead which I stopped in just about. My front brake disks were glowing red hot. Oh happy days. Excellent post Mincey 👍
  17. Mmmmmm I wonder if that bit from Mr Sowell includes drop outs, winos, druggies and the like. I've lived in areas where they congregate. They do nothing for society positively but expect lots of freebies. This sounds like entitlements, to me anyway. Excellent saying tho from Mr Sowell 👏 👌 👍
  18. Way hey what a subject. Personally speaking I think these new rules are a waste of time space effort and money spent. I'm a professional truck driver and I see a helluva lot of D head car steerers (note I don't call them drivers) who don't give a toss, of a coin, about Any road user. I also see a helluva lot of cyclists who ride like they've got a death wish. I deliver a lot in Wales and go on just wider than single track roads. If I see a jogger or walker or cyclist on such roads I pull over and stop if they're approaching me. If I approach them I give a quick toot of my horn and they see me and they do actually pull in and I pass them slowly. One case makes me giggle still. One cyclists group were out on their jollies going up a steady hill on a narrow road. I saw them ahead and pipped my horn to let them know I was there. They all turned round to acknowledge me except the cyclist at the rear of the bunch who geared down and overtook the group. They all chastised her I could see. Where they could they went into a single line and let me pass. I waved in thanks and they reciprocated. Coming home just today. Driving up the road and a see a young mum with a child waiting to cross. As typically normal all the cars Ignored her. I stopped and stayed still till a last car went through and she crossed thanking me with a wave. These rule changes are simply going to be ignored by most. Drivers and cyclists. However I can see pedestrians taking the wee wee by only pretending to cross the road. Oh yes there's gonna be some compensation claims arising from this. At the end of the day and as already stated. We ALL have a duty of care when we're out on the road. No one is above the other. Some are much more vulnerable than others. We have to look out for each other just like a decent percentage of road users do. Simple.
  19. So the dealer said you can't have the essential service plan because your car isn't over 5 years old? Weird because Lexus withdrew the essential plan yet a couple on here have asked and got replied that's it's still on. Very strange. Anyway £39 a month for how long? Isn't a bad price.
  20. That car is Sweeeeeeeeeeeeet. Am intrigued by the audio install.
  21. The unit you bought must have a fault in it. Send it back for a replacement. My last post came out bad. I've had my BT adapter in a year now and it's been flawless through out. Superb music reproduction through BT.
  22. My bad Moleman. I actually meant Norway. Think I got the 30x bit wrong too. But from what was said on Fifth Gear Recharge their hydro power station that was visited was effin Huge. 6 or more generators of which one was enough to power the whole country. To those who are slagging off what this country of our did many many generations ago go find another country to live in. I wouldn't dream of slagging of a country I was in. Jeez there's some A holes about.
  23. Hi James. Re clutch pedal. Being high isn't too bad and is way better than it being on the floor. Plus it makes for quicker gear changes. Re foot brake. Braking is basically in 3 parts. 1st third is partial braking. 2nd third is usually all that's needed to stop. 3rd third is all out lock your wheels up braking.
  24. It's been mentioned about the Netherlands being in huge debt because of its incentives for EV ownership and how it gives free charging and tax incentives. Most of their electricity is from hydro plants. One in particular supplies 30x More electricity than the whole country needs. Me thinks their debt will soon be paid off. Seems one country knows what it's doing.
