2021 RX 450h - what are the irritations?

We have it in our 2007 IS250, 2012 RX450h and 2017GSF, so I’m surprised if it is not available on the 4RX.

I have checked the specs and no sign of it, my car is an F-Sport with Premier pack and does not have it.

Here's a current Takumi which is the top of the range model, and it doesn't have that magic switch, just blanked out panels...

On my gen 3 RX there is no wiper de-icer switch with the other physical HVAC controls, it's only accessible through the screen.

That’s the same with our GSF. In fact  it’s actually in an additional menu within the onscreen HVAC section 🙄 . Our IS250 is the only one with a physical switch.

I don't believe that option is available on any UK spec car.

I've got it in 2013 RX450h Luxury trim, but it's buried in the actual climate control in the main menu, not as a standalone button on the dash

The Bladescan headlight system on my RX450h is not as good as suggested. It doesn't operate until you're travelling over 40mph, and even then, the reaction is slow enough to result in getting the occasional flash back by the oncoming vehicle.

I don't use it at all.

I use it on mine but I do get flashed usually by vans and lorries but rarely by cars. Definitely needs improving

The auto-dip function for those of us in the lower spec cars works pretty well.

One other irritation: The on-board WiFi is a waste of time if there is only one option: A relatively-expensive monthly fee to Lexus. You can't even replace the SIM card, as there isn't one.

The dealer representative wasn't too sure about it, either.

I agree with you I used their free Wi-Fi for six months and thereafter turned it off. It’s a ripoff @ £8/month for 2GB and as you said they’ve locked the box to just Orange network. Thus the customer has no choice!

Have the new takumi 2021 and this model does not have heated screen or wiper heater it does show the switch but not fitted I think this was for the American market.

I have a Takumi ES and it has the wiper heater, no switch though it is accessed through the on screen menu, not sure if that’s any help

This deal has expired now but it's worth keeping your eyes open or signing up for the daily email from https://www.hotukdeals.com/

Some excellent deals on SIM-only wifi dongles/modems/routers come up quite often.

Another mild irritation on my 2018 model is the inability to receive traffic announcements when the radio I’d in DAB mode, even though there is a setting for it.

My previous Land Rovers did but, after much discussion with Lexus they confirmed that it was not possible on my model. Hopefully they have fixed this on later cars

My 2017 interrupts the music played via USB to broadcast the traffic announcements... so does this not do the same when listening to DAB radio?

I will have to have to try it and see.

Nope, not on mine at least, yet it does if I play music via the USB

I get the impression that DAB radio is still not fully integrated (after 9 years?).  If you use voice commands, e.g. "Station LBC", it will always go for the FM based one, rather than the DAB one.  I always find that very odd.  Why not default to DAB?

Been trying this over the last couple of days and mine has not interrupted the DAB radio to play traffic broadcasts either...something that I had never realised as I have always just listened to the music on my USB.
