rx400h tyre pressure

Featured Replies

I checked on my door and it shows 32psi front and 34psi back tyres but they still look low and as if they need more air in. (no punctures or holes)

Does anyone know if lexus recommend pumping up more despite label in the door or leave it the way it is?

If you have a RX400h please kindly share with me the tyre pressue you inflate them to

If that it what the car door label says,

and you are confident the pump is correct in its reading,

I would suggest leaving as is.

Yes. Up to 180kmh, 32psi. Over 180kmh, 34psi.

... and it will also depend on your tyre size/rating and how many passengers on average etc...

God forbid.

Thanks everyone! But tyres look low?

The wheels are only 7" in width, which is probably as narrow as you want to go with 235 tyres so they have a bit of a bulbous look.

Here's a pic of my old 400h - the tyre looks a bit squashed due to low pressure, but it's the same all the way around the tyre, not just on the bottom. I probably did run mine at 34 PSI rather than 32 PSI (not that I'm necessarily recommending you do the same).

The other thing you should check is the load index of your tyres, to make sure they are at least the minimum recommended - 99 on the front and 100 on the rear.

How?

That’s all very well, but how do you increase the tyre pressures if you find you’re doing over 180kmh?

And then let them down again once you’ve slowed?  🤔

Nothing’s easy these days!  🙁

I can't believe how expensive my tyres are brand new (bridgestone)

Surely you looked at the costs of upkeep before buying the car?

@PCM did answer but here you go. A picture.

Tried that--but the rubber inflation tube got really twisted up as the wheel was going round so fast
