Is200 Leather/sueade Interior

Recommended Posts

Right guys,

Need your advice before I go ahead like a bull in a china shop and ruin my car.

The interior in my (X plate- 2000) model is looking a bit tired and I want put the 'life' back into the leather/sueade interior, but my question is what products should I use to clean the sueade bits on the seats and doorcards?

Also, what products should I use to clean the leather on the seats? Do I go to somewhere like Halfords and buy a dedicated leather cleaning/restoring product? Recently I bought a leather sofa for my living room and it came with a leather cleaning/restoring kit which contains some solution that you dilute with water to clean the leather and some cloths, so I was wondering should I use this leather cleaning/restoring kit in the IS? Will this leather cleaning kit for my sofa damage the leather in my IS?

Thought I'd ask you guys what you use to clean the leathers in your IS's.

And before anyone asks I tried to do a search, but I could find anything on this topic.

Thanks gor your help.

I also use the Autoglym leather cleaner - it's great, takes out the dryness of the leather and stops the creases cracking.

Don't have anything for the escaine - nb it is not suede so don't use a suede cleaner - escaine is a man made suede. I generally just use a wet cloth and wipe them down - not much else you can do with them.

Right then, looks like Autoglym leather cleaner/Autoglym products are the best to use- I'll get some this weekend!

BTW- what sort of results do you get by using Autoglym? Excellent/good?

Thanks for your help every1 :)

Don't know if you have already bought the Autoglym or not yet.

I had same problem with both the car and leather sofa in the house. Apparently the best thing is "Nivea Moisturiser". The blue bottle or tub costs about £2 and works a treat. All you do is wipe on and leave for an hour to absorb.

Hope it helps!

autoglum is ok but definately try the Meguires range of leather cleaners and conditioners.... extremely good.

i was realy aprehensive about what products to use with my new leather as its a realy light cream (was retrimmed) and it cost me a packet. The meguires was briliant and being a cream rather than a liquid it makes life much eaiser
