Is250 Space Saver

Right guys! Here's a heads up on the space saver in action!

Having done 1000 miles, on a casual trip to Oriental City, Edgeware road...a lovely piece of gravel stone...decided to wedge itself into me brand new Dunlop Sport Maxx rear tyre (its so new, its hard to find in any retail tyre fitting area)

Luckily, I noticed a hissing noise only when parked in oriental city car park. So no damage to suspension or alloy. Took about 40 mins to go flat. Got the Lexus Roadside assist to change it..but abtou 45 mins today, due to lots of peeps calling in sick

So the pics will be of the tyre puncture and the space saver

i thoght i would be, but somehow..I am happy i was jsut thankful nothign bad really happened. my life and others in the car were safe. it happeend only in the car park. the tyre needs to be replaced even though only 1000 miles on it. but that is replacable. Life isnt!

its only 1000 miles..it seems to be wearing evenly so far! Feels great as well! I know other peeps have either the yokohama or bridgestoens installed. But i really like the Dunlop Sport Maxx 245/ 45 R17 95W tyres!

Wow.. I didn't know they were so wide :)

know any decent tyre repair shops in N london?

I was thinking of going with EVENT mobile fitters..they could try sourcing the new Dunlop sport max..probably costing me in the region of £150 but they said they';'re take teh wheel off to see if it coudl be repaired first adn if so, no worries. they'd repair it there and then!

I'vw used event mobile tyres a few times for supply and fitting, always been good so far.

Its pretty central on the tyre so they can't use the egde scam, perhaps if it did take that long to go down its hopefully not a massive hole

well - the problem is, its a stone that is really stuck down into the tire, but as teh event guy said, there is no way to know without actaulyl seperating teh tire from the alloy. a mark of a more decent advice?

RU sure? I've never ever known a stone to puncture a tyre. From your photo, it looks more like a large nail with gunge round it that has been polished down to tyre level.

The only place I trust with my wheels is Protyre in Enfield, they have good machines, nice clean bays, very professional. Plus they have most tyres in stock so can get them within a day :winky:

Tony's cool tho, and watford really isn't far, just take it easy on the M25 if u do go with that tyre on :whistling:

At least it didn't blow while you were driving...

I can think of it as sabotage only. Me of suspicious persuasion...It looks as though the boys from Munich/Stutgart/Bavaria are trying get their own back on us Lexus owners...

Makes you wonder if the tyres are prone to easy punctures...what make/size is yours fitted with?
