Im still looking for an altezza and spotted this one. Any body ever see one of these before. never seen one this colour or seen those seats before. Maybe it was done in Japland or is it some sort of ltd edition or something. Its a 98 rs200. cheers,

That interior looks weird (not sure if it looks good in the flesh though) but I'm thinking along the same lines as aztecbandit - are you sure it's a 98?

The satnav controls are for the newer cars and the colour looks the same as the kodiak sky that was on the "Limited Edition" models in 2004 (Sportdesign in US)

Working link for ya here mate: Carzone link

definitely not standard interior, looks like it been treated to a re-trim, same with the color don't believe that is a factory Toyota colour, if so I've never seen it before!

rear lights i've never seen, rare side skirts and haven't seen that front bumper or grille before. Looks good though!

Very unusual looking 'Tezza that is. Whatever the verdict of the colour, it certainly looks good and suits it in my opinion.

Also a very subtle front bumper as well, I like that!

Must admit I'm really rather taken with that and if I could get insured on one of them, you'd probably find me buying one lol :)

Good luck fella,

Jamie

Why cant you get insured one surely it would be the same insurance as an supercharged IS?

I'm still confused how this is a 98 unless it has had a lot of work done to it - it has the single colour dash, top slot CD and DVD based nav, would someone really have gone to the trouble of replacing the dash?

Noticed it also has HIDs and also possibly US bumpers as they look longer than ours (the headlamp washers seem to be sitting on top of the bumper instead of on the edge as ours do)

Also, the colour definitely looks like the limited editions, or sportdesign cars, not sure if it's a respray or came like that, but the colour looks very similar (do like that colour a lot though :) )

Cheers for sorting the carzone link. Im gonna go up tomorrow and have nosey around and see what it looks like in the flesh. Thanks for all the replies. :)

Word of warning i heard the guy that runs that place is a bit of a prick, don't expect any sort of warranty or NCT. Make sure the engine thats in it is the 3s-ge and not the 1g-fe which is the slower one. I'd ring him before you go up to make sure he still actually has one in stock, his ads are known for not being up to date

bought my car from him....

no warranty but he covers the cost of putting right anything that fails the NCT within 30 days of sale....

personally i found him alright, hard Dublin dude but fair.... don't like the fact that he seems to operate under two or three alias though...

This is a blast from the past.

It's an Altezza Evoluer - it was either some kind of special edition or a set of dealer fit options from Modellista and Netz Toyota in Japan.

There's not much left on the interweb about this model nowadays but I did manage to find a set of scans from the original brochure here.

The carzone car has:

- front bumper

- sideskirts

- grille

- tail lights

- orange seats/doors

- single colour dash (this came as trim pieces so a whole new dash was not necessary)

- sat nav + controls

- gear knob

- special colour (code 1D2) aka Thunder Cloud Metallic or Thunder Grey (is this the same code as Kodiak Sky?)

Unfortunately it doesn't have the Evoluer wheels which I used to quite like (it's the reason I remember this model).

I've attached a ZIP of the pics just in case the link doesn't work.

I see what you mean about the wheels they look very good on the car, The more i look at it the more i like it as its just a bit different and by the sounds of it quite a rare find wish i could find the skirts for mine quite ;) like the blue one in the pics shame my silly laptop won't translate the file?

I like that a lot - very subtle differences to the standard car and it looks great :)

Never heard of that model before either - makes you wonder what other special editions there are out there that we've never heard of!

Interesting, I'm guessing that must have come out around the same time as all the other special editions around the world (which still means that car can't be a 98 one)

So all those parts are official Toyota parts then? Like the rear lights, skirts, even the wing mirror indicators............wonder how these parts have never surfaced over here? :whistling:
