Insurance Quotes Wanted

I would be interested in hearing what others have been quoted to insure their cars, especially for cars in London.

I'm getting quotes varying from £600 to £1200 for my new IS200 Sport. Any one got any recommendations for cheap London insurance?

I have a IS 200 in Stockport. With no, no claims, I had never had my own insurance before (always had a company car) and couldn't transfer no claims from employers because of a hit and run in my old car when my wife was driving. My insurance is frightening. Fully comp £1,000 through Direct Line. About £800 cheaper than any other quote I got. Having said that the after care from Direct Line has been poor.

As an additional driver on my mum's policy (cos she has full no claims), I am paying £1300 :( (as I only just turned 20). That's with Privilege (underwritten by Direct Line)

Be warned that if you are a named driver on another person's policy you do not get your own no claims bonus. Of course it's cheaper but when you want your own policy - OUCH!

One option is to insure, for example, a wreck or an old banger (perhaps fictional ) in your own name to build up your own NCB :arrrggg-matey:

I'm 39 with 5 years NCB and am insured with Tesco's for £438. No one else could come close. I'm hoping the GOLD scheme will better it next month when I renew though

I got a quote from Sainsburys Bank(!) who use Esure..............£350!!

I have found that both Bell Direct and Esure are very competitive.

I live Oxford way, and I cannot vouch for London.

Agreed - Sainsbury's online quote was the cheapest for me... £543 on an IS300 (compared with £689 thru Direct Line). Yet to try the Gold Members quote. :)

Correct that... got online quote from AXA on an IS300 for just £389...! Less than I currently pay on the IS200! Still, gonna give the DIG people a call tomorrow.

I used to live in Colnbrook, near Heathrow and went with Bell Direct as some of the guys here recommended them. They're very competitive, especially as where I used to live wasn't the nicest of areas.

My insurance is up in May and I'll get a quote through the insurance company in Gold and take advantage (hopefully) of their discounts ;)

Fully comp in Oxfordshire with a standard 2000 IS200SE through Tesco was £410 with the minimum excess. I am 30 have full no claims and a clean license.

I'm fully comp with www.elephant.co.uk. Zero no claims bonus, i'm 22 and it's £905 fully comp!! By far the best deal and I tried everywhere!!

Just to let you know I've gone for Halifax who were cheaper than anyone suprisingly. £554.21
