Mpg! What Are You Getting?

Recommended Posts

I fill up on a friday after finishing work (£30@91p a litre (with low petrol light on and it ends up just under half way mark) and it lasts me until the following week. I don't drive in the weekend, but if i do it's only around 7 miles. For every 5 weeks i can skip filling for one week because i never use all the petrol thats accumulated over the 5 weeks and i repeat the process. I do 34 miles a day, 60% country roads and 40 A roads.

It used to last me longer but as everyone knows petrol has gone up, was bliss @81p litre. I could get away without filling the car over the 4 weeks of accumulated petrol to last me an extra week!

Tip? light footed, i don't go over 3000rpm at any point, only fill car half way with petrol, coast when you can (without clutch pressed!), correct tyre pressure ( i have mine at 35psi as it's been WIM'ed), Don't have windows open when over 40mph.

I'm getting about 300 miles out of a tank at the moment, mostly city driving,

with a trip to Reading from Kent once a week.

I have found the car to have more power when using BP Ultimate against any other fuel

(95RON, 97RON & 99RON Tesco included), although I haven't tried V-Power for ages.

I used to get around 380 out of a tank of Fuel in my IS200 when i had it

usually spent around 55-60. to fill it depending on time of year with fuel costs

correct me if i am wrong does it have a 70L Tank

so at 70L=380 miles for a 2.0L car that was not good for me

Not sure that the figures about how much people can do on "a tank" are a good guide really, since it depends on how you define "a tank". It is when you hit the low fuel light or when you actually run out of petrol (not recommended !) ?

When the low fuel light comes on there is still quite a bit in the tank, I'm sure it's close to 10 litres.

I typically get around 31 mpg. I've got around 430 miles between refills before, but of course that's still with a few litres remaining.
