sounds like "swirls" you get from polishing the car , tends to show up on darker cars more .

True but if you polish the car properly you wont have this problem(needs more T.L.C)

A good polish(Meguiars) and a clean terry towel will sort this out :yahoo::yahoo::yahoo:

But im not a salesman :whistling::whistling::whistling:

Yes, jonthebarber

you have understand perfectly the problem....

I ask you this thing because i'm looking for an IS200 black.... (it's VERY COOL!!! :yahoo: ) but i've seen this problem!!!

I have a limited edition of Golf GTI mkII k-jetronik violet and this effect is similar (but the golf is 17 years old!!!!)

so you guarantee to me that if i tak the car to the "coach maker" to polish it returns like new????

:o

I know exactly what you mean.

I always buy Black cars and this happens on every single one unless the polishing is done properly. I'm on my second black Lexus and you won't have this problem if it's polished properly.

A good buffing should remove these marks. (It did on my Honda)

you need scratch x

Scratch X

The fine scratch & swirl remover.

ScratchX is the most effective way to remove fine scratches and swirls from automotive paint by hand. This product is guaranteed to deliver the finest results possible by hand (some scratches require removal by machine applied professional formulas). ScratchX removes surface contaminants, oxidisation and blemishes as well as enhancing colour. Unlike many paint correction formulae on the market, ScratchX will not leave more scratches than it takes out. It's ideal for use as a quick touch up or to revive a car's entire finish.

i use zymol and it works pretty well

so do these scratch removers

the only problem that i see with having a dark car (mines blue) is that there are stone chips all over the front of the car and thats one thing you cant polish out!

How do I remove swirl marks?

If you have light swirls, swirl removers such as ScratchX or Mirror Glaze Swirl Remover will help safely restore your finish. Moderate to deep swirls, however, will probably require a safe paint surface prep, followed by a pure polish and then a protective wax. If this process won't remove the swirl marks, you will need to take your car to a local professional who can determine whether the scratches are so deep that painting or other work is needed

Environmental Wars

Yes, your environment is fighting the finish on your pride and joy. Because aggressive elements in your environment are especially hazardous to your car, we continually monitor the latest scientific findings about the impact of these elements on paint, metal, vinyl, leather and rubber.

Your car's environmental foes deploy a variety of very nasty weapons. Each finish-degrading weapon is bad enough, but, when combined, their impact is greater than the sun. Scientists call that synergy.

Secrets of the Pros WATCH YOUR STEP

Professionals understand the critical value of each of the following appearance care steps:

1. WASHING: Removing loose contaminants on the top of your car's paint surfaces.

2. CLEANING: Removing bonded and embedded contaminants, blemishes and oxidation that washing cannot remove.

3. POLISHING (Not waxing): This is the key step for restoring rich, vibrant paint colour with sparkling, swirl-free high gloss. BEWARE: Not all products labelled "polish" are truly pure polishes. Some are abrasive and some are waxes. Meguiar's polishes are pure polishes.

4. PROTECTING: Applying a barrier coat of tough waxes, silicones, resins and/or polymers on top of the paint finish to repel contamination and oxidation.

5. MAINTAINING: Removing the daily accumulation of surface contaminants (i.e. fallout, diesel exhaust, overspray, hard water spots, tree sap, bird droppings) the instant they are discovered, before they have time to bond or etch into the paint finish. Meguiar's Quik Detailer quickly removes fresh contaminants on the spot while actually adding gloss and protection. Carry it in your car for ready use. (Maintaining has become the most important step for keeping a sharp car looking sharp all the time.)

PAINT SURFACE EVALUATION TEST

Wash and dry both your car and your hands. Now run your finger- tips across the paint surfaces, which should feel as smooth as glass. If not, you are feeling bonded contaminants and oxidation that must first be removed with a mild, clear coat safe, abrasive cleaner like Meguiar's Clear Coat Body Scrub before applying polish or wax.

PROTECTION TEST

To determine if your paint has enough wax protection, wad a clean, dry towel and rub it against the TOP surfaces of your car after it has been washed and dried. If you hear squeaking, it needs to be waxed.

IMPORTANT CAR WASHING TIPS

Do not use dish-washing detergents because they strip off paint protection and accelerate oxidation. Only wash your car when it's cool and in the shade to avoid water spotting. Start at the top and work down. Soft water is best.

TREE SAP MIST

During Spring and Summer, trees release tree sap mist. Unlike droplets of sap, tree sap mist can travel for long distances before landing on parked cars or cars passing by. It's impossible to avoid, yet easy to remove when it first lands, by maintaining with Quik Detailer.

TYRE CARE TIPS

Avoid ordinary silicone emulsion protectants that cover over your surface contamination with a shiny synthetic coating. These cause tyre discolouration and decay. Clean your tyres while you dress them with a complex formula like Meguiar's Endurance Protectant that cleans, beautifies and protects in one easy step, leaving tyres looking like new, and free of that "plastic" look.

WHEEL CARE TIPS

Most wheels now come with clear coat finishes that require special care. Do not use abrasives or scouring pads on these wheels. One of the safest, most effective wheel cleaners is Meguiar's Hot Rims. It contains no acid, toxins or abrasives yet effectively removes stubborn road grime and brake dust and leaves the surface bright and shiny. It is the product recommended by BBS, the world- renowned wheel maker.

INTERIOR CARE

Common silicone emulsion protectants cover over surface contamination, create glare on the dashboard, and leave seats and steering wheels dangerously slippery. Use nonsilicone vinyl cleaners and onestep cleaner conditioners such as Meguiar,s Natural Shine. Only use specialised leather care products (like Gold Class Premium Leather Cleaner & Conditioner) on leather surfaces. Use safe, specialised cleaners such as Meguiar's Carpet & Interior Cleaner on carpets and fabric upholstery.

CLEAR PLASTIC & WINDOW TINTING

Maintaining clear plastics and window tinting is a delicate matter. These materials can easily scratch and lose their original clarity. I highly recommend the use of Meguiar's Mirror Glaze Clear Plastic Cleaner Polish to safely remove surface contaminants and gently restore optical clarity. Use it on window tinting, convertible rear windows, instrument panel lenses, helmet face shields, sun glasses and hundreds of other clear plastic surfaces.

SPECIAL detailing TIPS

Use 100% cotton terry cloth towelling on your paint finish. The nap protects the finish from particles caught between the surface and the towel. Synthetic blends may scratch your surface. If your polishing cloth pulls colour your finish is probably not a clear coat. Avoid turning your application cloth over to its other side to apply a different product, because some ingredients may penetrate through and change the chemical balance of the product. Avoid putting pressure on tops of ridges where your car's paint is the thinnest. Use Meguiar's Quik Detailer and a soft cloth to remove wax residue from emblems, lettering, etc.

If you are like most car owners, your car has clear coat paint. Its clear layer magnifies scratches because it refracts the colored base-coat layer below. Don't be fooled by claims that color-matched waxes can hide these scratches. Since your surface paint is clear, pigmented wax will obscure its transparency, look strange and won't do the job.

A surface prep/polish can help reduce the visibility of fine, hairline surface scratches. ScratchX or Mirror Glaze Swirl Remover do a great job of hiding these imperfections in your paint surface. The polish will restore valuable oils to the damaged paint and help reduce the optical refraction that makes scratches noticeable. For even greater swirl-mark reduction, apply several coats of polish. And make sure you protect the surface by following up with a coat of wax. This process can handle most minor defects. But if you can catch your fingernail on the scratch, you'll probably need to see a professional detailer for help.
