Driving to work today and CD player was giving an Err 1 message. I had the unit replaced under warrenty only about 2 months ago 'cos I was getting the Err 3 message. Car is now out of warranty, but the stereo will still be covered....won't it? :crybaby:

Spoke with dealer, said they will replace the unit FOC as under a seperate warranty. Went to check what model number it was and it has started working again. Not effected by the cold are they cos it was freezing last night?

When I had my stereo replaced it came with it's own 1 year warranty.

I don't think the cold weather would have anything to do with it. :unsure:

You can get rid of the ERR-message;

-> By loading an another CD, and let the player to play it and then change back to the CD that gave the error

-> Changing the CD selection to another slot, and let the player to play it and then change back to the CD that gave the error

-> Ejecting the CD that gives the ERR and then loading it back

I have got ERR messages thousand times, but I've always fixed by doing some of the steps above, so I am 82.7% sure you won't need the stereo replacement.

Same experience here so far mate, have had the problem a couple of times when it's been cold and the CD's are covered in condensation, eject and reload gets the player going again then it will play all the disks again...Guess the laser dries the condensation right up after a while??

Lexus Stockport replaced the unit today, but apparently the replacement was faulty too, so another one was installed. Seems to be fine now. Prompt service again, but bit worrying that the stereo seems to need replacing every 6 months.
