Well my gs300 has gone into lexus today to have a new bonnet fitted under the 12 year corrosion warranty, they have given me a ct hybrid as a courtesy car and i have to say i can't wait to get into my gs300 again. I thought the is200 was the worst car Lexus made, but ct hybrid takes the biscuit, I can't believe the amount of road noise, I have to turn the volume up of the cd player in order the shut the noise out, it's terrible, and I can't feel every single bump. What were lexus thinking when making such a car, thank god I've only got it for 3 days, I can't wait to give it back.

Your right i shouldn't be comparing it with the gs300, but my advice to anyone thinking of buying a ct200, don't buy one if your looking for a quiet smooth ride, because you won't get it with a ct.

Fortunately or unfortunately a lot of new cars now tend to have a harder ride due to suspension set up and lower profile tyres(apparently makes handling better)

I also had a CT Hybrid as a courtesy car a while back and was glad to return to my GS.

Most importantly, it convinced my wife that the GS Hybrid will be our next car. The first time I turned it on, it was quiet that I wondered what was wrong with it.

I always felt the IS200 should have had a Toyota badge on it rather than a Lexus - certainly at the time it didn't fit in with the Lexus brand. The IS200 did have good handling though, making it fun to drive. The same cannot really be said for the the CT, it is just an Auris with different body panels and interior - it doesn't really fit in with the other vehicles in the range.

My 450 went in on Monday for the latest recall and I had a 64 reg IS300h for the day. I liked it whilst accepting it's not a GS and judged it as a smaller car--bigger boot though. I have had a 200 in the past and its not my sort of car at all. Too small and too hard a ride for me, (a bit like the early BMW 1 series).

On the way home I realised that the petrol tank was nearly full and it had been below half when I took the car in. Is this a courtesy gesture from Lexus?

Lexus will fill the tank up for you if they do recall repair. I've also heard of them leaving flowers/chocolates in the car after recall work.
