  1. So the much anticipated article for Banzai has finally been published! Electronic copy released Monday, paper version should be in the shops from tomorrow hopefully.

  2. Well,I bought SWMBO a 2005 Merc C320 cdi estate about a month ago. It's OK,it's obviously a more modern design than the LS,but with what I call 'modern annoyances'. I had to reset the clock on it last night and it took a good 20 minutes to work out how to do it. In the four weeks or so that we've had it,it's had to go back for gearbox work after a week (on warranty thankfully) and yesterday she had to call the AA out because the fuel filler flap wouldn't open. I suppose what sums it up is,though the Merc is a 'nice' car, the LS is a wonderful car. We've had older Mercs for years, 3 190's,2 300TE's,a 230TE,a 300SE and a W210 320 V6 which we used as part-ex on the current car. She is infatuated with them, but guess which car she has used today (and many other days) to go to work in. That's right,my LS. She nicked the keys when I was in the bog,and she was gone!. It is our anniversary today so I suppose I'll have to let her off.

  3. Cheers Mike. I'm very chuffed with the article. Hoping to find a paper copy tomorrow. Really like how the photos came out. Matt really did a top job capturing the mods and aggressive styling.

  6. Just gave her a quick clean, wasn't really grubby but could feel the dust on the car so gave it a once over.

  7. 1) real world fuel economy will be around 18-20mpg in town and 30-35mpg on the motorway. 2) The GS is much bigger than the IS inside. The rear leg room is great. 3) Nope - these have been bulletproof. Have you considered a 3rd Gen IS250/300H, they have much more space than the IS you have and honestly, there's not much more space in the back of the GS than there is in the new IS?

  8. Look at honestjohn.co.uk for real world consumption and a review of the vehicle. The GS is significantly bigger and better specced than the IS. Enjoy the test drive James. Regards John

  9. To be honest my way of thinking was, better to buy a car at a "cheap" price with a known fault. Rather than buy a car knowingly good and at normal price and a couple of months later the hybrid failing on me. At least I know what repairs etc are done under my ownership rather taking somebody's word :)

  10. I must say that you were extremely brave to buy a car with a known hybrid system issue, considering the complexity of the cars.. hope you get it sorted. Sent from my Nexus 7 using Tapatalk

  11. Dealer phoned yesterday and confirmed that the claim has been accepted. car will be going in on 30/09. Lexus deliver again! Trying to secure a RC as a loan car as it is the only Lexus I have not yet driven apart from the LS...

  12. Yes the keys are just the start of your problems. (Pun intended). A grand is probably way too much. im sure with appropriate numbers and V5 Lexus will provide a key. It's not an unheard of problem surely? Bound to be a few bob. Still think a grand is a p take. You are buying it without a test drive. £400 cash to take it off hands and spare the hassle...

  14. Hi Mark The issue being, is the car is worth a thousand pounds and are you going to find a lot more issues when you start it up . If I were needing to break a mark 4 for cloning spares I would snap it up . The chances of it being a runner without cost are remote ,sorry for the unintended pun.

  15. What! Lexus cars are held together with glue, mine seems to be built properly with nuts and bolts.

  16. Hi Rayaans I decided to ring Lexus Milton Keynes and they said to bring it in but would have to leave it overnight for bond adhesive to harden. They are even giving me a loan car. Great service from Lexus Tom

  17. You can check if your car needs a recall here: https://forms.toyota.co.uk/lexus-recall-checker I have checked yours and it seems there are no recalls outstanding.

  19. So I've had my Fsport 300h for over a month now and decided to give it a good clean and some detailing. the paintwork has come up a treat and although time consuming has really brought the car to life. i must say having come from BMW and Audi before that the Lexus IS proving the best all road car I've owned. hope you like the pic.
