  1. Hi all! I posted in the 'Wanted' section but thought I'd try my luck in here/increase visibility! I currently drive a Subaru Legacy 3.0R Spec.B with the 6 speed. Fantastic car, makes all the right noises, gets a shift on and very practical, but I have always lusted after an ISF and a recent change in circumstance means I might be able to afford one now! Are there are any 2010+ cars for sale by members right now? Or any members that have been considering selling? Please let me know! Thank you 🙂

  2. Having been Recommended This Vehicle Tracker BY Our Very Experienced Friend Herb.. I Too Can Thoroughly Recommend This Little Gadget...It Connects With Two Wires One red and one Black to The 12v Battery In All Of Five Minutes Download the app and your Ready to Go..The information you get is Incredible and worth it alone for the report And power in your 12v Battery .....Which i hasten to add was always of Concern As It Powers so many Systems on the car....At The moment if you purchase the Tracker from Amazon its priced at just £19.98 and you may even get a Fiver off that as i Did...Subscriptions are 12/24/36 Months and are very Reasonable .. Personnally i feel with all the Canbus Theft Problems This is a Remarkable Tool to keep tabs on your Vehicle Should it Suddenly Disappear Without your knowledge..Obviously if a professional steals your car he will in all probability Disarm it.. But keep in Mind the Majority of Car Thefts are Conducted by Opportunists.. So In My Humble opinion Give this Gadget some Thought...The Customer Service fom the Company is Really good and very Helpfull ....Coverage is the UK and Europe..Well Worth a look.. My Opinion Only Of Course..!!!

  3. Good Morning everyone, I am new to the forums and new to Lexus ownership 🙂 Recently got myself a Lexus GS 250 (2012 Luxury ML) with about 76K miles on it and full service history from Lexus. Enjoying it so far. Is there anything I need to look out for from a maintenance perspective going forward or any recommendations please do let me know. Glad to be part of the forum and hope you all have a great day ahead. IMG_7643 (Edited).HEIC IMG_7676(1).HEIC IMG_7696 (Edited).HEIC

  5. Thank you guys. Also that is a beautiful car superatticman. I see from the service history that the last owner (1 previous owner) did all services from Lexus with the last one being a 100k/10 year service (When the car was at the 70k miles). I assume this is a major service. My intention is to continue doing main dealer services. Do I just do 10 year / major services from now on out (next one at 80k?) or alternate between intermediate and major services at the main dealer every year / 10,000 miles? Fuel economy wise I live in the city and have not done a lot of highway miles yet but seems to average around 26-30mpg or thereabouts for mostly in town with some dual carriage way driving that I have done in the 1-2 weeks I’ve had it. I will do a proper run of it over the next few weeks and come back with an update. How much should I expect on average mileage wise? Overall seriously impressed with the refinement of this car and comfort. I have driven a Honda Civic in the past as well as a Ford Explorer (Dubai) so safe to say this is the first car of its kind in the UK and so far it feels so good to drive and handles impressively.

  6. My multi-car renewal quote from LV has just gone up by 40%... 😞 The UX250h element went up by +80% compared to +22% for each of the other 2 cars. Nothing had changed - no claims, no convictions; just no claims bonus increased by a year and cars all a year older... So I thought I'd shop around with multi-car providers I'd used before. Admiral wanted +52% more than LV!! Aviva wouldn't cover... despite emailing me and inviting me to get a quote! We need these security upgrades - and insurers need to know they are fitted!

  7. Today the mileage for my 2004 SC430 reached 10,000 miles. It will also be 20 years since it was first registered on the 1st April 2004. So that is an average of 500 miles per year and I have done a little more than that since purchasing it from the first owner when it had only done 7600 miles. In my ownership it has been as good as gold needing only a new battery. I am hoping that driving it a bit more the headlight levelling system will sort itself out as today it was back on at first but then went out after a couple of miles and stayed off. I do have an annoying little rattle which seems to be coming from the roof behind the passenger seat which when the weather gets better I will look to solve. I am looking forward to many more years of ownership.

  9. Hello everyone. Became an LBX driver at the end of March. Fortunate enough to have a Dealer prepared to sell a showroom car which exactly met spec and colour we were looking for and therefore avoided the 3 month wait of a factory order. Early days yet and haven’t driven many miles but so far delighted with the car.

  12. They don't get it do they. Even a £200 banger can raise millions of pounds worth of liabilities if the properly insured driver kills someone.

  18. When I bought my E4, I was already 'comfortable' with the size (or lack of it) of the UX boot space! So AWD didn't make much of a difference to my decision. It wasn't that expensive as an option and is a nice to have, I think. For anything other than weekly food shopping or 2 weekend cases etc, the rear seats have to come down anyway. The UX is not really a family car, but it's great for us as a couple. I can still get 2 grandkids 6 and 8 year-olds in the back with their car seats on school pick-up duty once a week - but I wouldn't want to do it every day! As for AWD performance, I can't say I've noticed it so far - but then we don't (or at least haven't had) a winter like in Sweden - yet! Regarding mpg, it's all going to be down to how you drive it.

  20. I was only given a complete key and told the rest will come as a recall. No second blade. Will speak to the dealer and go from there. So it looks like my local dealer was correct.

  22. Sorry I missed out that info! The MARK is '5024', so https://lexuspartsdirect.co.uk/product/lexus-ls-phase-3-radiator-mark-5024/ 16400-50241 ( 'MARK' 5024 Type B ) looks like the best bet. Thanks everyone for your help!
    1 point
  23. There are 3 listed but only 2 for a 2006 LS430. If the top of the radiator has '5024' as the 'MARK' (and probably Denso number 422132-3836 on it) then there is only one option which is 16400-50241 ( 'MARK' 5024 Type B ). That's my opinion anyway and I think the 'MARK' on the top of the old radiator is the key, assuming the correct one is fitted to the car in the first place.

  24. Hi HM, MMI unit ordered, awaiting delivery. I have found a local (Herts) installer, who seem to know what they are doing. I will keep this thread updated. I am amazed that no-one seems to have done this yet in the UK. My current work around, of use car's sat nav, and blue-tooth music to the car, using the phone for track listing, is primitive at best, and I cannot use my speed camera bot at the same time. Paul

  25. Thanks Brian, Very useful, but confirms to me that I will get a "pro" in to fit. This has the look of a job that I would start, and get stuck about halfway through, with the car in bits, and undrivable!!!

  26. I think anywhere around the £20k mark is my maximum. Right car will be worth the right money though. In all honesty, I'd prefer one that has a bit more wear and tear so I don't feel as precious about it given it'll be my daily, so that should help keep me within the budget!

  27. As a new owner, I have only driven the car around 12 miles to its first MOT inspection for 18 months. Fingers crossed for today. During the run, I experienced the same problem so it's on my to-do list. I saw this post which may be helpful too, in lessening the creaks and pops... https://www.clublexus.com/forums/sc430-2nd-gen-2001-2010/712343-top-opening-issue-fixed-details-inside.html

  28. I sometimes get a bit of "hesitation" at idle as you have mentioned - it's as though the engine just needs a few more revs. Only seems to happen in certain use cases - usually when the engine is warming up and the EV mode is close to kicking in. It's done it occasionally since I have had the car (which was 2 years old with 40K miles on it when I purchased it - now it's over 9 years old with 146K miles) so I haven't worried about it.

  30. Everyone knows that the NX,UX & LBX AWD Systems are Electronic & are controlled by the CPU. 10 Years ago the System had very limited instances when AWD was triggered but today it is far more sophisticated & is perfect for all On- Road conditions. Fit All-Weather tyres & the above could venture across the Countryside fields with ease but Owners of the above vehicles are not interested in this potential Quality. Tel

  31. Life especially when retired can sometimes seem a bit the same every day and poor weather doesn’t help. However I am thankful for this in that no big life threatening issues are happening and hopefully summer will arrive soon to go out for a nice drive with the top down.

  32. Hi Lycan Great choice of car there! Virtually identical to my GS250 Luxury with a tad over 70k on the clock. Gave mine a good wash, polish and wax today. Have to say the quality of paintwork on these cars is second to none. As far as maintenance goes, in 6 years of ownership all I've ever done is have it serviced by the main dealer. They actually aren't as expensive as you may initially believe. Only bits I've had to replace have been consumables like discs and pads. The electronics and mechanical aspects have been absolutely rock solid. They really are an extremely well built and superbly engineered car. I'd like to think both of our cars have plenty of life left in them without needing anything but standard servicing. Cheers.

  33. Not adding much to the discussion, but I've always felt its a bit miserly and penny pinching working out tyre cost, miles per gallon and "I can change my own oil", after all you're buying at £40k+ luxury branded car! Fill up when needed, replace tyres when they reach the legal limit, service as required. Enjoy your premium purchase and relax. If I wanted to worry about all those trivial things I'm have bought a JAAAG, and an AA rescue subscription 😂

  34. Changed my car to LBX on my policy with Dial Direct and paid £442.82 including RAC and Motor Legal Protection. As I was lucky to get my car within a couple of days of making the deal, I didn't bother getting any other quotes.

  35. I can't afford it, but if I was working 60 hour weeks and had the means, I'd definitely to it. I pass some outstanding houses on the way to work, and very rarely, see a supercar level Porsche or McLaren parked at the back of the car park. And frankly, no matter what I do, there is a 99% chance I'll never be able to afford it. But I admire the people who are living that lifestyle. In this world, it's very unlikely they're being given that money for nothing. My presumption is they're working (or have worked) extremely hard and that's simply the fruit of their labour. Today I sat around in between work typing on this forum, it's obvious to me that while I do work hard, I'm not doing anything to the extent that I deserve anybody's millions for what I do. Nor is what I do, something that anyone else can't spend a few months learning to be able to do the same or better It always annoys me when people get salty about people who are 'well off' or successful financially. I'm not talking about GMB in particular. More so my generation of mid / late 20s people who are just so salty and rather than working hard to get there, they sit around and blame systems and governments for 'keeping them down' despite the fact they've never even tried. More power to the people driving around in the fruits of their labour. And anyway, it's a small group of 'those 1% people' who pay for I think the bottom 20% of income earners NHS and other things, doesn't 40p of every £1 they earn get taken, just like that?! Personally, I think there's a case that that's unfair.. And anyway, I get an odd satisfaction just knowing that the Lexus LC500 exists, and that even though I've got a lower spec, older CT, which is a little touch of some 'luxury' for me, I like the aspirational link there. It's a little like having a poster of a bikini model on your wall, even if you know you don't have a chance with her, aren't you just a bit happier to know people like that exist, and that they're walking around as we all live life? No point getting angry and bitter if you don't 'have one' lol

  37. In my experience, the Lexus Portal & Lexus Link+ are not informative . Lexus Derby & Lexus Twitter have excelled. The 2026/7 UX will be larger to move it away from the LBX & allow larger UXE Batteries to address the Range Issue. Tel

  38. Lexus changed the wording in their notice from “April” to “coming weeks”, suggesting an extended wait and longer timeline than originally envisaged. Until the post says a solution is available, and dealerships actually have something to update/install on vehicles affected, the answer to this thread is quite simple: zero and no-one. https://mag.lexus.co.uk/lexus-uk-statement-on-vehicle-theft/?

  42. NZ300h just 4 years old. All started 26th march. Have just had headlamp failure,( or Malfunction as the warning said), replacement £2k, problem doesn't end there......... delivery only 3 weeks, Needed MOT heap of expensive junk isolated at the Dealership !!. Then more good news after the lamp arrived .....requires replacement ECU for the light ??, about £700 ...... delivery only 4 weeks, so still a heap of expensive junk still isolated at the Dealership and not due till early May. Reliability ?.....maybe, (or not) , What a ridiculous wait for obvious spare. High expectations , great disappointment......buy LEXUS ?.......never again, strongly advise against it. Now road tax expiring so need to SORN the vehicle. Wife's Vauxhall Meriva 19 years old needed new bulb....£2.50 off the shelf and fitted...is that progress?.

  43. Happened to a friend on Nissan Qashqai. Modern headlights come as a unit. Cost to my friend upwards of £1750 including ECU for just one unit not pair. Rare incident the dealer said but when it happens, ridiculously expensive to put right.

  44. I see many of those stuck on motorway every day and I always surprised how many cars are broken down... and as far as I know AA doesn't come quick unless you say you are woman with a child and stuck in the live lane. I have heard stories of people waiting even 8h before they come pick the car-up.
