  1. Lovely looking car. I sat in a 10th Anniversary RCF in the Lexus stand at Goodwood festival of speed in 2018, same colour and Interior I believe. Link here https://newsroom.lexus.eu/lexus-celebrates-a-decade-of-f-performance-at-the-2018-goodwood-festival-of-speed/
  2. It sounds like there is something else the matter with your car (you bought a bit of a dog that clearly hadn't been looked after correct? ) The four pot is considerably more economical than an RCF....I was getting well over 40mpg on a run, my guess is you drive like a nutter.
  3. Still chuckling ..my IS200t got ripped a new one for that engine, week in week out....then the rest is history. Ah well, lets help Linas get out of his RC nightmare... Linas, there are quite a few 440i's out there around the £20k mark. A 16 plate with 52k just sold for £18k. You mentioned them earlier up the page. As you know these have the same engine Toyota have thrown in the Supra, a coupe, a rock solid closed deck 6 pot, go like stink, economical if you want to drive like Miss Daisy. You can get the MPPSK put on them if you want to upset the neighbours. I'd argue the dated interior is no worse than the RC's dated interior. Servicing and insurance reasonable, parts readily available. However, you would be mad to buy now. Used prices have gone through the roof. I'd put it off until things settle down.
  4. No one is in a click. I sometimes read these threads on these old Lexus barges yet would never buy one but respect to those who do and who are a valued part of this community. However the Dudley guy is as dodgy as they come and I spent a lifetime dealing with dodgy people. On a forum such as this, to get a reputation such as this guy usually means he's just that. Many of the threads previously mentioned have been backed up with details of court cases and some bloody brilliant detective work plus plenty of factual information. Long may it continue
  5. A 15 plate red RCF with 35,000 on the clock briefly appeared on AT for £26500 at Lexus, Sidcup earlier this week. It was sold before they could put the pictures up. Anyone on here ?
  6. This will go down like a lead balloon on here. I jumped ship from the IS two years ago back into a BMW. I'm a cash buyer so there are no PCP constraints so I can move when I choose too. I've gone Lexus - BMW - Lexus - BMW since 2007. (BMW ownership has been faultless btw) However my love for Lexus has had me looking at coming back for the third time. I'm absolutely not ready for Hybrid but a few weeks ago I did a test drive in an RC300 Takumi. I agree about the fantastic external looks, however once in the cabin I was back in the IS I left behind. Nothing appealed despite this being top of the range...it was simply out of date and absolutely no progress in five years compared to the opposition. I may look back at it in the supermarket car park and think what a stunning looking car but there's more to that. I'm in a 340i so take away the silky smooth B58 its still a three series. I did a back to back test route with an open mind and ignored any performance issues. I was deeply disappointed with the ML, the Harman Kardon in the BMW is vastly better, the infotainment -seriously it hasn't moved! I'm well used the to the clunkiness and welcomed the bigger screen but suddenly I've gone back that decade and I'm not even a technophobe. So I got out of the RC and did the same drive in the 340i..it could have been the 440i..simply worlds apart I'm afraid in every respect including comfort...damnit I so want to come back and I actually felt deflated. Then of course we have the G20 just to add pain onto Lexus which cabin and performance wise is a massive step up from the F30 I've no need or desire for an SUV (I couldn't even fit my golf clubs into a UX) so I've been squeezed out unless I do an RCF....which I may do to scratch the eternal itch but the truth is it may well be the M4 or M2 or Merc C43 or C63...with a warranty of course, however many with a GSF/ RCF have a warranty.
  7. Welcome back Linas. Firstly I'm surprised the RC doesn't have a visual warning but see that's been covered. I visited Lexus Reading a few years ago. Quite a few of their cars had 'lipped discs'. (I have a habit of running my fingers over the disc and feeling 'the lip'.) On one example I was interested in I popped in and commented the brakes needed doing. I was simply fobbed off that the car had passed their Inspection -lol. Needless to say I walked out. You may be on a sticky wicket. They could argue a couple of track days would achieve the same result and its a wear and tear item and wear and tear rules the roost in the land of the stealers (Lexus are by far the worst in relation to this compared to their 'opposition' who shall remain nameless). I did have some success with my daughters Mini, brake warning light came on three months after purchase and negotiated 50% off. I posted a similar thread on pistonheads and got laughed off so keep clear of there
  8. Toms car up for £32490 https://www.autotrader.co.uk/car-details/202010124906581?sort=price-asc&make=LEXUS&model=RC F&advertising-location=at_cars&radius=1500&onesearchad=New&onesearchad=Nearly New&onesearchad=Used&postcode=bh189nr&page=1
  9. I presumed you'd got it.... So you've now gone for the yellow and black carbon RCF being discussed on another thread...wow, a real stand out car. Hope it works out and please report back.
  10. It looks like Lexus Nottingham have removed the Armytrix exhaust from the advert.
  11. Mind sharing where these three are ? I wouldn't discount a GSF, at least I could get my elderly mum in the back
  12. To be fair Tom has only just advertised the car. Likewise the black carbon has only appeared in the last week. Quite a few 15 plate non carbons have been sold in the last few months, all between 27k - 32k. At the moment there appears to be quite a bit of Interest in that year / price range and prices have held firm or even even increased without doubt. I think Toms car looks lovely and I'm sure patience will prevail.
  13. I looked at the Poole one a few times but the better half wouldn't entertain the colour. In the end I couldn't either . Did you enquire about the Orange one at Fordingbridge, Hants ? I popped over as live nearby and the guy said an RC300h owner had enquired looking to 'step up' into an RCF.
  14. They're my local dealer and messed up a simple oil change a few years back so avoid. Yet they're servicing some pretty unusual and high end stuff being a Lotus dealer next door, also Ferrari, Porsche etc. Perhaps they're biting off more than they can chew.
  15. They now have Hendy Sports next to them since Jaguar moved out, share workshop facilities and are servicing numerous different makes and models. I wonder if they simply spoke to the wrong guy in there ?
  16. Go for a ten minute drive and then touch both alloys. (Try to avoid excessive braking). If one of the alloys is warm or hot to the touch it could be a brake caliper sticking which obviously needs attention as not only are you wearing your pads you may possibly warp a disc and of course its dangerous. It could be something much simpler however. I've had it on my old IS where the dust shield surrounding the brake disc is making contact with the outer edge of the disc causing the squeel. This can be caused by a build up of rust on the disc edge rubbing the dust shield or the shield has got knocked and is contacting the disc. Its simply a case of pushing/ bending it away from the disc.
  17. Reference #4. I enquired about this car as well. The first service was actually done at a small Independent garage in Brighouse, as you say three months late. They seem lovely people but there is a Lexus dealership just up the road but for some reason they avoided it. Audi told me the front pads and discs needed replacing but wouldn't do it unless someone was going to put a deposit down . Interesting that they told you rears! Apparently its just had its second service at Lexus Stoke, seven months late, not sure if the brakes have been done. The car also had minor bodywork damage that Audi failed to disclose to me and more disturbingly during my enquiries I was told to 'avoid as it hasn't had a normal life bud '. My source wouldn't elaborate and I wasn't in a position to travel for a pre Inspection. #5 Yes I've been watching that for some time as its been hanging around as a nice advert for a lease company I see. I guess the reason it hasn't moved is the price, it might be worth making an offer.
  18. Lovely looking car. I cycled around Europe a few years ago. My last leg was around Guernsey which I did in a day. It was my second visit by bike. My guess is you pop over to France or back to the UK on the Condor to stretch its legs...what with the speed limits
  19. Someone else bought the same colour car recently with 6k miles.....great colour just wondering how I'm missing the ad's. Was this on A/T ?
  20. Imagine shelling out £30k at a Lexus dealer only to later be pointed in the direction of Mr Panthaas videos or do we think Lexus Nottingham will be totally upfront
  21. That's the problem. Within reason we do expect perfection. So a Lexus main dealer has the below car for sale. Its a Lexus Used Approved vehicle at price you would expect from a Lexus dealer (ie quite high). Lets be honest it won't be perfect due to age and mileage but you'd get comfort thats its approved...but read on. What they won't tell you is that the wonderful specimen above is the one on the right below. Here it is stuck in a field. Welcome to the world of trying to buy the perfect RCF
  22. Sorry to hear that. Appears to be niggly bits with three of the current five on AT. The black one with the Armytrix exhaust was previously 'wrapped' a weird colour and was owned by a youtuber who blings his cars and the grey one advertised with a full dealership history doesn't have a full dealership history. It was sold back into the trade from an Audi dealer last month and suddenly had £2500 added to its screen price. The low mileage 18 plate has been sat there for months.
  23. I owned an IS200t for two years. MPG around town was early / mid 30's, on a run mid / upper 40's was possible driving like Miss Daisy. It was best driven in sports mode and yes there was no suitable way to map it. It may well be F or bust if you want to keep up with the Germans and have rock solid reliability. I'm currently back on the dark side,in a 340i with the B58 engine (the one they lobbed in the Supra). Sounds decent as well and the B58 is proving reliable in the long run. Prices are all over the shop at the moment, its not a great time to buy used.
  24. I recall slowly reversing into a BMW dealership garage area in my new 2015 IS....(dropping daughter to collect her Mini) and these places are always rammed. Several spanners taking a break took great pleasure in pointing out I only had one reversing light...tee hee new lexus with a blown bulb...no lads, it only has one reversing light.
