  1. Despite pointing out to the dealer (after they had pointed out to me ) that this car doesn't have a full Lexus history its disappointing (but hardly surprising) that a Lexus main dealer is still advertising this car with a full history. This car had one service in its first three years before it went back to Lexus, and that was five months late. Second year service never happened.
  2. A £30K private sale popped last week on a low mileage 16 plate. Gone now so perhaps sold.
  3. Just a quick heads up. The car is advertised on Autotrader as having a Full Lexus history. Unfortunately It doesn't. I never did get to see it in person but its been pointed out that the spoiler and hood vent have been wrapped in some kind of replica carbon stuff and this isn't stock - not a deal breaker I know. The rear headrest as pointed out by @Martin F isn't a crease as they originally said and will need further attention which I'm sure they will do. Unable to comment on the rest of the car due to flight prices
  4. Someone on here was Interested I recall. Perhaps they made a move on it. It hasn't been up for long and don't Lexus usually price drop before binning it elsewhere. It doesn't appear to have moved price wise.
  5. I would consider the IS250 auto if you want to stick with Lexus Many people reporting 30mpg see thread below and they are pretty well bombproof. Loads available in your price range and VED is £325. No idea about Insurance as that depends on you, your history and where you live.
  6. Cheers Richard..I also have the dreaded diamond cut wheels on my current car. However the dealer has got back to me and said the blemish that appears on the pics is tyre paint that has leached onto the alloy. No big deal as I would simply ask for a replacement if it was damaged but it appears not. I thought I would square this up for the dealers sake. Additionally the rear seat Indentation is apparently a crease. There's nothing better than examining it in person but in this case sadly logistics will probably get the better of me in that regard.
  7. Yes, good spot...no idea whats happened there. A forum member who lives locally has kindly offered to pop down and give it the once over.
  8. Late 16, low mileage in a decent colour (call me the grey man) https://belfast.usedcars.lexus.co.uk/en/used-lexus/Lexus/Rc-F-Coupe/500-50-2dr-Auto-t7b7f4p Is it just me or does that alloy look badly kerbed ? Anyone over there want to pop down and give the car a once over for me
  9. Yes I believe you told us about your horror show with Mini - not good. We've been fortunate with two. Lets hope Newfies good lady doesn't think this story is normal with Lexus and gets put off the brand. It will be Interesting to see what the issue is as new car breakdowns on this forum are as rare as rocking horse poo.
  10. 6k / brand new shouldn't make a difference - its the same cover. However I guess Lexus have a get out clause if recovery was requested independently so hold off blasting the dealer principal I'm Intrigued as to why they just didn't take it to Lexus unless there was something in his good lady's AA policy that said otherwise ?.
  11. I think its appalling from Lexus and the AA. If Lexus are using the AA as their recovery company Lexus should be ultimately responsible for the situation..I'd be bending their ear big time and onto the dealer principal. Compare this to Mini / BMW. My wife had a simple engine management light come on and a message to contact a dealer ASAP. She drove a few miles home, within 30 minutes recovery was at home, was unable to determine the problem, the car was recovered to our local Mini dealership and a Enterprise Hire car dropped off at the house. It turns out the car needed a software update and was sorted the next day..Thats what you expect from owning a new car, under warranty. Not what we're reading here Now I know its unusual for a Lexus to break down and perhaps that half the problem .
  12. To be fair the same could be the same of most premium vehicles and associated stealers. Obviously there comes a time when you cut that umbilical cord and go solo. The hybrid issue complicates things however, almost forcing you into a corner if you want to sell it on. Lexus servicing is bloody expensive, even with a service plan. Sadly its one of those things we need to factor in when buying.
  13. No one cares about reliability on a 3 year lease or PCP deal...its all under warranty. You nailed it in your previous post, the reason 90% are German is that its fashionable....that's what sells cars nowadays, not how it will perform 125,000 miles and 10 years down the line.
  14. Still looking but can't help notice a complete absence of 2016/17 cars .Are they all tied up in PCP deals ? As a result many of the 2015's are sat there at silly money.
  15. The likeness has been commented on previously, more so on BMW forums. I'm not a lover of white but there's a reason 90% are German, good or bad Lexus are doing naff all to address it .
  16. Another decent reminder not to be taken in by the acres of glass, marble, lashings of coffee and the smooth patter of a car salesman. I wonder where it had been for those missing 18 months.
  17. Haha...how many times was he fobbed off or I am missing some irony here Lexus never use to quibble about replacing corroded wheels, I mean who wants to see a two year old car with scabby wheels ? Hardly a great advert for the marque. As for other manufacturers, most of the premium ones will replace them but the underlying issue as stated further up is the fact they are diamond cut.
  18. The dealer is pulling your plonker, ask to speak with the dealer principal not some muppet on the phone.
  19. Nice one! I believe we both put in an offer on that RCF at Westover...doesn't seem like yesterday. Glad you got sorted, I popped back to the dark side but am still looking for the right car. There's not much out there at the moment!
  20. We always took the kids wellies off...problem sorted. If there was any kicking they were discouraged. Its a shame some parents fail to do this on aircraft.
  21. I understand the trend is now for smaller SUV's and I don't doubt the usual Lexus quality is there, well it is of course. I think this market is becoming over saturated and there's some extremely stiff competition. I first saw the UX last year at the Goodwood Festival of speed and had a closer look a few days back when at my dealers. The boot space is ridiculous and the rear cramped. I guess the argument is that if you want larger go with the NX but wasn't the whole point of an SUV its practicality ? I'm struggling to see the target market here. Incidentally discount from dealers your'e looking at £1000 off the base model if buying on finance, nothing if a cash buyer. I've had five quotes of exactly the same price £28905 so clearly Lexus are holding firm thinking it will sell.
  22. Did you get your deposit back on the blue one ? Congrats on this, looks lovely and I hope you enjoy it.
  23. I got three quotes and my local dealer matched the lowest.
  24. When I bought my IS200 at three years old (main dealer) I later found that the previous owner hadn't had it serviced. It must have been a lease car and he just didn't bother. Lexus then serviced it and that was it, it was now officially back on their books as Lexus approved despite missing several services . Lexus have a little get out clause in their books that a Lexus approved history doesn't necessarily mean a full service history and there must be plenty of cars that don't see their workshops before they get the once over and go back on sale. The chances are that GSF was a lease / PCP / company car, it might even have been a press car. You could argue most high value motors are nowadays and you could argue that one careful owner (when its going to be moved on after two or three years ) doesn't equate to the old fashioned cash buying enthusiast who hardly lets it see the light of day. Although I felt gutted and deceived I did manager to screw them down on a large discount, free services and MOT's for the next few years. Apart from that front grill would that missing service make much of a difference at two years old? Lexus would be happy to put it on their forecourt under their policy after a decent check over if its simply missed a service at 10k or 12 months - so 2018 in this case. Is it a decent price and in good condition (alloys / pads / discs etc) , can you get it checked over to check the bodywork underneath etc? Obviously they won't pay for a Lexus service, even a main (non Lexus ) dealer wouldn't they would just stick it through their workshops. If you were happy enough to stick a deposit on it after a thorough Inspection and have since found out about the missing history, then you could use that to your advantage, ask for the grille to be repaired / replaced properly, negotiate a bigger discount or as others have said walk away. I guess it depends on the price but realistically if its one service missing and a dodgy front grille / lip etc (not uncommon) should it be a deal breaker? Can you live with a missing service? Just playing devils advocate
