  1. Just been featured: http://www.pistonheads.com/news/default.asp?storyId=26082 Still think the IS is a stunningly good car. REALLY miss the one the Mrs had (run out model dated 2005).
  2. If you get 30mpg then I think it would be good going. It's a big car so expect it not to be the best. I get about 25mpg out of my '300 but when I had a '400 for a couple of weeks that only managed just under 30mpg - but I do mostly motorway driving...
  3. Hi Andrew, I own a '04 plater RX300 SE-L. Love it to bits and has been by far the best vehicle I have ever owned. Like Colin says check the air suspension and I would also add the following checks: - Rust: Especially on leading edge of the bonnet. - Alloy wheels: These corrode very quickly so check if they have been refurbished. Also worth checking the condition of the spare wheel too as it lives underneath the car and gets battered by road grime. - Hand brake cables: These have a tendency to seize. - Tyres: Check for uneven wear. - Driver seat: These tend to look worn quickly if not cleaned/treated with leather products. Hope all goes well and get some pics up if you do decide to buy. Cheers, Noman
  4. Damer that is one lovely looking car! Hope the pick-up goes well today. Get some more pics up and keep us posted as to how you get on.
  5. Many congratulations Damer! What interior/exterior colour combo did you go for? Get some pics up once the new car arrives :) The EX is the VERY car I too am looking at. Thought about the FX for a while but it's a little too 'in your face'. Let me know how things go - particularly interested in the economy and how you find the boot (I found it perhaps a little too shallow when I test drove the EX).
  6. Just saw this: http://www.speedlux.com/2013-lexus-rx-450h-first-look/ Bringing the new Lexus family face to it...while the screen seems to show the new GUI from the upcoming GS...
  7. Do a search for Grom and my user ID. I fitted a box o' tricks a while back and works brilliantly with my Mark Levinson unit...
  8. Hi, What you need to do is to flick the mirror control switch to the left mirror and leave it there. The mirror should then dip when you select reverse ^_^ Ta, Noman
  9. Lexus Bradford - a very poor dealership in my experience...
  10. Good to hear Lexus Bradford have changed. Back in 2007 I found them to be one of the worst dealers for sales and service.
  11. Congrats on the new car! I find this a pain too but unfortunately it's NOT back-lit! I'm thinking of modding the housing though and putting a couple of LED's behind this area so that at least the button surround lights up.
  12. Can SO relate to this. I've had mine since 2007 (it's a 04 plate RX300 SE-L) when it had it 30k-ish miles on it. It just went for its 120k service this week at Lexus Nottingham and it sailed through! Things that have had to be done to it since i've had it: Radiator Brake pipes Power steering pipes Tyres Wiper I used to change my car every two years but like you I can't really find a car that does things as well. For me there there are only three that i'm considering - perhaps next year: 1. RX450 2. Honda CR-V 3. Honda Accord
  13. Yep. Snap. My car has done around 115k on a '04 plate when it went a couple of weeks back. Cost about £200ish to get everything sorted at a main dealer...
  14. I recently sold the IS200 belonging to the Mrs. Or rather part-ex'd it (for a Merc B Class)...It was a 05 plate SE Auto with Nav in black. 62k-ish on the clock. Full Lexus history. Cambelt needed doing so did the sparks not to mention all 4 discs/pads. The wheels were fooked (corroded and kerbed) and the bonnet had a paint bubble and there were a couple of parking scrapes at the front... Anyway, initial trade in offer was £3k. I was actually quite pleased with that as I knew it needed some TLC. I got a very good deal on the B Class so my cost-to-change was much better than I at least could have hoped selling privately. It's a shame these motors are going for such little money. I really do miss the car as I loved it! I found it much better fit and finish than the new IS.
  15. Apologies if this is a repost... via Autocar Some interior shots too!
  16. I used these guys: http://www.carputer-shop.co.uk/index Do a search for posts I've made regarding installing it...
  17. Get a GROM audio add-in installed and then hook up an iPod. Sorted! I haven't used my cd player for over a year now :)
  18. Do you mean you want to connect to the grom for music via bluetooth? I didn't think this was possible??
  19. Do a search for GROM AUDIO on the forum here. I installed one of these units a while back. It allows me to connect an iPod/iPhone and play music through the car stereo. Believe you can get a USB version too. Ta.
  20. I find that you need to go for the previous generation of a car...
  21. A couple of months back I had my rear discs and pads done at a main dealer and i'm sure I paid less than £500. Might be worth checking with your local Lexus/Toyota place first as well.
  22. Liking it. Lots B) The wheels especially look the business! What paint did you use for the calipers and did you have to take the pads/discs off to paint them?
