  1. at least the Jag boys can keep smiling with all the crap that has happend recently. Lets hope this season is not the last we will see of donkey!
  2. I had my windscreen repaired on my meastro (dont laugh it was my first car) and a week latter the repair failed and I got crack all the way through the screen, which needed replacing. The insurance covered the repair for free, so it is worth checking. Personally I would not get it repaired as the glass has been weakend if it shatters / or cracks you will need a new one anyway. As for getting it done at Lexus, I would not think that it invalidates your warrenty but it is worth checking.
  3. I actually want one and I would use it. Extremly helpful for lap counting at Oulton Park whilst waving flags!
  4. not sure but I do know that the games company producing this version, is the first game they have written from scratch and not a conversion of an exsisting game. However this is going to be requiring high spec machine for it to look it's best.
  5. Managed to have a look at the video for the film in work. From what I have seen of the video of the game it looks really good. THey have just opened the website for it so I thought other people might like a look. http://www.starshiptroopers-game.com Some footage looks like it is the film but I have been told it is computer animation.
  6. I am in a mixed position here. Firstly most police officers are fine and do a great job and dont get the support from the public they deserve. however, I kept getting pulled over in Stevenage becuse my car (Nissan Primera) had a sticker from Widnes Car Centre which is a cheshire town (where Merseybeat used to be filmed up until last series) but it has a 0151 telephone code, I am automatically from Liverpool and the police want to know what a Liverpool car is doing in Stevenage. Then my mum got charged with Failing to Stop, Failing to report and Failing to exchange perticulars at an accident, thing was there was no accident. When she went to court the police wanted to call our neighbour who examined her car as a whitness for the prosecution. To top it off it was thrown out due to no evidence the key thing was the Police had not examined the the car she allegedly hit. He took a private prosecution and failed in that too. Finally I was stopped in my Lexus in Calis by kent police. The reason Terrorism Act, left at the channel tunnel for 30 minutes with no reason until they hand the piece of paper. Just to prove it is not just the UK police who are bad. This year I went to work at Indianapolis as a marshal for the F1, as an official we are taken on a offical track walk by USAC. The walk was marshals an FIA official and Formula BMW USA racers (which includes JPM's brother). Some security bod decided it was too dangerous for us to be on track with no cars, and called local police. The Speedway officer drove on the circuit, would not except that we were allowed to be there, an escorted everyone off the track, then proceded round the circuit himself. This was after the FIA safetycar had been on for there own test. We got an appology from Indianapolis Motor Speedway, but not from the Speedway police!
  7. My first set of anti theft valves were nicked from outside go kart centre in Manchester last year, after kids (and I know who they were but could not proove it) nicked the original. My latest anti theft ones are still on and have survived. It just drives me nuts that people nick things like that.
  8. definatly not too young, I got mine at 27 thanks to selling house in Stevenage, to move back up north. The first thing I got told from a neighbour, was it the car now used by the drug dealers in Liverpool. If it is a Grandads car they would still be with the BMW's. Also why are there so many boy racers with Lexus style lights? why have fake when you can have the real thing!
  9. My sister has just put some cheap tyres on her car. I dont normally buy cheap brand tyres, the only ones I normally look at would be something like Stomel, BF Goodridge, Uniroyal ect. The reason they are owned by the big brands. However the tyres my sister has got are Fate O and I can not find anything about them on the net. Have anyone on here heard of them. It must be obscure as I have not even seen them on the Tyre Walls at Oulton Park when marshalling. THanks for the help
  10. I agree that they tell you garges sell Super and they dont. Truthfully not a bad way to check prices though
  11. maybe I am missing something, but if the SC can be seleceted as an option in Europe, would the Pan European warrenty not cover you? If Lexus offer it as an option both at purchase or as an aftermarket item, it would mean the engine can take it. if you take the car to say TTE to get it fitted where would you stand, if they already do that for Lexus Germany. It would make an interesting court case one Lexus country saying no and a larger number saying yes.
  12. Dave was there after Indy GP in June for a day and a half and loved the place so much so going back for longer after next years Indy GP. From my time there I would say if you get the chance do the Evening tour bus around the city as it is great to see the city at night and you will get good photos. If you can do the Empire State building go up late at night (it shuts at 11pm or around that time) so it worth doing. Also you can now go inside the Statue of Liberty again so would recomend that. AS for shops you have Bloomingdales (near central park) which is big, and Macy's which is bigger and not well signed inside. They are both owned by the same company. You also have plenty of designers around 5th avenue i think. I walked everywhere but there are good metro trains I believe and it is cheaper than the Underground! Have fun over there, I did!
  13. It is the same as the penguine thing which is on http://www.yetisports.org managed to smack the hagis 829
  14. I should be known as Bushy Acorn Short of An Oaktree or Furry O'Squirrely
  15. I have been upgraded to 750mb and truthfully not noticed that much of a difference. I think the main advantage to upgrade to 1mb is if you upload a lot of stuff to the net as that is where the speed is upped. If you mainly download then it is not worth the extra. If you play a lot of online games then it could be worth the upgrade.
  16. I was at turn 4 at indy (where Rubans tried to overtake Schumi after the final pit stops) and they were loud with ear plugs. I have been lucky that I have seen F1 in a number of places, along with the lower formulas and loved it. Must say though I hate the sound of the traction control kicking in, makes the engines sound as though they are spluttering. Now the older F1 cars sound good. Good move getting the seats enjoy yourself. The programe should be £10 and the food expensive
  17. Not really breaking news and truthfully he is only in F1 because of the name Schumacher. They would have been better getting someone like Anthony Davidson or Alex Wurz both good racers and with excellent testing Skills and pair them up with Da Matta. Hope Ralfie boy prooves me wrong and when he is back from injury scores a victory or 3 for Toyota, anything to stop Ferrarri from dominating. AS much as I am not fan of Ralf driving, met him this year and he was excellent with fans and seemed to enjoy meeting them.
  18. Chris if you want a better place to watch the F1 in place of Silverstone, most marshals recomend spectating a Belgium. The reasons are you are closer to the action, it does not take 4 hours to leave the circuit, and it seems to be better organised. I did my F1 quota last month in Indy and it was amazing but guessing we can not organise a day trip there. Scorpian I hope you enjoy Silverstone, just get there early ( ithink gates open at 5am) if you want a good spec. Watching F1 live is an experience and make sure you have ear plugs as they are loud.
  19. Muggin's here went, and got pick pocketed aswel :tsktsk: Truthfully I thought the idea was good but badly organised. They tell people it starts at 6 but first car was at 7. If I heard that :tsktsk: Jim Rosential say the cars will be out in Minute once he must of said it every 10 minutes whilst until the Mansall finally made it out. It was a mess, tube stations shut, over crowding, no real spectator points without getting crushed, and the Street sweeper race. I will stick with going to the races to get a better view.
  20. Avoid Wirlpool customer service is :tsktsk: also had nothing but problems with Hotpoint Would highly Recomend Siemans if they still offer the 10 year gaurentee for free worth the extra cash. But seriously Siemans, Bosch, Miele seem to be the best out there according to Which, also for alternatives Zanusi seem to be OK. AEG is owned by Diemler Chrysler and we have not had any problems with a dishwasher made by them. It is worth looking at buying via the net as you can save plenty of cash with them and I have bought a Washer, Fridge Freezer and Freezer all off the net and saved a few £100 hope this is usful.
  21. Have fun Claire I am sure you will enjoy the football. I at least get a restbite from it over at Indy for the GP
  22. Hi Chip I ended up getting mine fitted by Lexus. I had shopped around the independents (and most of the times the dealers use the independents) and the prices are all similar. I have the Tracker Monitor which works well the reason I have it is the car is parked on a drive and it brings my insurance cost down, plus I know if I go out and someone tries to steel my car I get a phone call from Tracker giving me the chance to stop it plus they get the police. This is the second tracker I have had. Would say have a look at the tracker website and see who fit it in you area and give them a ring. Some are mobile so you can get it fitted at work. I think mine cost around £650 + vat as I chose the lifetime subscription. If you are keeping the car for more than 3 years go for lifetime subscription.
  23. I found my IS which is my first rear wheel car, to be fine in the wet and handle. I also found tyres make a difference, the Perrelli are fine and with a quick search on this site you find what others recomend. All I can say is enjoy the car.
  24. Well sorry to put a dampner on all this talk but I would advise avoiding Nokia now. I love Nokia phones they are great and simple to use but I had the 8310 worst phone ever I got through 5 in 18 months that is how reliable they are. I changed it to 6100 last August and since February had nothing but problems, calls dropping, no longer charging in the car kit (orange are adament the phone is not at fault), the phone is tempramental and does not always ring / vibrate. The phone also has been on extremly volume caused by it self for some reason. From what I gather Nokia are no longer as reliable as they used to be. Personally I am looking at some of the new motorola or Sony Ericsson. Can not be any worse!
