  1. Welcome to the club and congrats on the new car. The stereo problem is for older models. Yours, being a 2003 model, has a different head unit which shouldn't give problems. As for the gearbox I think modifications have been made to it, don't know if yours has or not but you have 3 year warranty so any problems should be sorted out.

  3. Sorry, I meant any pics of the finished product. Did you put the sensors above or below the chrome trim?
  4. Can you get a BM for £400 a month based on 30k miles a year?
  5. I think a dealer is your best option. I don't know if an auto-electrician will be able to help. The option will be programmed into one of the car's ECUs and unless you have the software it would be very difficult to disable the feature. I don't know if a UK dealer will be able to program an option that is not available in the UK?
  6. http://www.lexus.co.uk/finance.php?page=pr...te⊂=personal £430 a month of an IS200 SE but with a limit of 10,000 miles per year. I guess there are better deals out there than this. I know Lexus dealers have offers now and again.
  7. Looks good. Now you just need to change the bottom mesh to match the new grill :P Do you push the car into the garage or climb out of the sunroof? Looks a bit snug in there :)
  8. Lexus approved used cars come with a 30 exchange policy. I guess there needs to be something wrong with the vehicle for them to exchange it, so you need to speak to your dealer. Is there anybody from LOC near you? Maybe you could take them out in it to get a second opinion.
  9. You're disc the probably the one that came with the car when it was new and the previous owner(s) never updated it. I guess Version 2.1 was current in 2000. The data used is normally 12-18 months old when the disc is released, so a 98-99 data would be on a 2000 CD. You're disc isn't a 98 one, that would be version 1.0 or 1.1. It's worth asking the dealer about it, you may be luckly and get an upgrade or unluckly and shown where the spares department is.
  10. Normal with the air-con on. But should be around 600 with it off.
  11. As I didn't purchase it new I don't really have any grounds. The car was also a demostrator so even the first real owner didn't have a claim. I bet all the non memory seat vehicles were used as demostrators to avoid any problems. If you look at these two vehicles, both without the seat buttons, they don't state one owner so were probably demostrators. In the description though they are claiming memory seat function! http://www.lexus.co.uk/detail?template=/le...3488&vidindex=2 http://www.lexus.co.uk/detail?template=/le...3488&vidindex=3 However this one that does have the buttons is had just one owner and was registered a couple of months later: http://www.lexus.co.uk/detail?template=/le...3488&vidindex=5
  12. I guess they ran out of components at the factory and decided to send the non memory seat vehicles to the UK I did ask but they won't do it for free. I have looked at the wiring diagram and plugged in a couple of switches to the connector but it didn't work. I guess I need more than just the switches, maybe a new drivers door ECU and the seat position sensors so it will be too expensive. I don't mind too much as I don't let my wife drive it anyway!
  13. I managed 161mph on my UK Supra which is limited to 155mph but didn't hit the limiter (ran out of track). You don't know how accurate the limiter is and I know the speedo was about 10mph over at that speed.
  14. 250km/h is 155mph. I don't think the GS300 is limited to 143mph, that's just it's top speed. In fact I wonder if the GS300 has a 155mph limit as in standard form it shouldn't be able to reach that speed. Over to you Loz to prove if it's there or not.
  15. Excellent news, I had to do the same thing on my car today.
  16. I would say it's 3.5 years old and does not have full UK coverage. I would recommend getting a new one, or at least try a new one from Lexus to see if the latest disc gives you what you want. If you call Lexus on 0845 278 8888 they will let you borrow a disc for any European country for a few weeks. Useful if you go to Europe on holiday or you just want to try the latest UK disc. If you want to purchase a new disc you need to go to your dealer. They are about £170 so I would recommend joining GOLD to get a discount.
  17. Maybe they should spend more time on the TF103 gearbox :P What power is it producing now? Have you been in it Mat?
  18. Check the dimensions of the battery if you don't buy one from your dealer. The battery needs to fit into the plastic sleeve.
  19. The Lexus locking nuts don't use keys they use a socket with pins that locate into holes on the actual nut. The pin pattern varies between sets so you need the correct socket. The plastic plunger is used to remove the caps from the locking nuts so that you can fit on the socket. As Bazza said the normal nuts you have in the box are the ones the locking ones replaced. The locking ones should be on the car
