  1. Just stick with Bridgestone dueler a. They're decent tyres
  2. They're probably set too low which is common.
  3. The ride isnt massively better on the different trim levels to be honest. It's one of the smoother cars in its class so if you're troubled by it you'll need to step up to something like a GS or E class size
  4. I think its worth seeing the vehicle and seeing how it drives. If the price is good i.e. £3-4k less than an equivalent car with Full lexus service history at a Lexus dealer it might be worth a punt. You won't get any serious long term damage with an oil change at 16k miles and also over 2 years if its only travelled 8k in that time. For piece of mind you could get a Lexus service which would then give it 1 years Relax warranty
  5. Chris knott brokers are extremely good and will beat your lowest quote provided you can give them a screenshot The Merc you got is probably the most basic one. The top spec ones are around £50-55k with the premium plus packages
  6. Yes they're speaking the truth theres no official colour code so it does need doing by eye and it can be done quite well by a skilled technician
  7. The sound quality is extremely dependent on what the source is. Radio doesnt sound great. USB seems to be the best especially at 320kbps. Spotify and bluetooth audio seem to be quite poor in my opinion
  8. I think theyve missed a trick not offering the f sport design pack on the 450h+ as that would be the best of both worlds
  9. Itll be 3 points and a £100 fine. Might even get away with a speed awareness course Its a relatively minor offense in the grand scheme of things and classes as a Band A speeding offence according to the sentencing guidelines. Most of these are handled by the local police team rather than going to court. https://www.sentencingcouncil.org.uk/offences/magistrates-court/item/speeding-revised-2017/ You know why they do it though, and its simply because its a cash cow. It generates a lot of money for the council
  10. These tyres are pretty much the best out there in summer, especially when temperature goes above 15 degrees Unfortunately im still disappointed in them. Ive had issues with slip even on on frost. 20 mins into a drive they're still not warm if temps are below 10 degrees. Ive had mild crabbing and they've sent me sideways on a roundabout a few times where traction control had to kick in. Ive also found them struggling for traction when rolling at 40mph and trying to overtake. Theyre on a C-Class Merc with 240hp and only 400nm of torque so its not exactly massive power.
  11. The only thing I can think of is they dont have any available and making excuses. I tend to book atleast 4-5 weeks in advance for a courtesy car.
  12. I think the Jemca dealerships in general are rubbish. I tried to buy cars from them on more than one occasion with the sales staff being utterly clueless. Its a bit odd when you have more Lexus knowledge than they do and have to correct them frequently. Ive never had an issue with getting courtesy cars for any kind of work / investigation
  13. I don't think you can demand genuine parts. Best way to go about it is use a Lexus approved bodyshop and pay the extra excess if needed so you know they'll use genuine parts
  14. To be honest, with the way things are going I dont think the dealers will know exactly when the car will be coming. Seems to be the norm now
  15. It is a heavier car with less power and aerodynamics of a brick in comparison to the IS so yes consumption will be increased. Having said that, 37-40mpg compared to 50mpg is basically £340 if counting a fuel price of £1.50/l and doing 10k miles per year which is not that much in the grand scheme of things
  16. It looks to be the base version of the 450hL. The heated seat controls should be next to the P button as below. This image is from a 450hL with premium pack. As far as I can see on the used market, the facelift 450hL all seem to have the heated seat controls there if they have the premium pack, or are of Takumi / Premium Sport trim. I havent come across the base version on the used market.
  17. If the bonnet poppers have gone off they need replacing and I think they are very expensive. The IS250 bumpers and grills are the same so will fit.
  18. Heated seats are in front of the gear selector. They are automatic so the first press will put them on auto The seats are different to the 3RX I would assume the RX450hL has the easy entry removed, likely because of the third row - you cant physically fit a human in unless theyre tiny or the 2nd row seats are moved slightly forward. Of course, this would mean if the easy entry is on the back of the front seats would hit the 2nd row seats or crush the legs of whoever is sitting there.
  19. The main difference between the Takumi and F-Sport exterior wise are the wheels, badges and the front bumper/grill
  20. So Lexus Customer relations have replied and offered a £200 Lexus voucher to be used at any centre on the vehicle towards service, parts or goods. Theyve acknowledged there is an issue with the service activated warranty and it has been passed onto the warranty team to look into
  21. Yes it is taking the ***** a little bit. My car is actually registered on 14th January. Its just had its 7th service at 52k miles and it doesnt take a rocket scientist to figure out its been serviced before its 7th birthday. In my view, theoretically they should have done the service and renewed the warranty before starting to look for problems which I feel would be a more logical approach
  22. Ive sent an email to Lexus UK Customer Relations. We'll see what happens.
