  1. Chr1st, I can't wait that long, :shrugs: suppose I'll have to then
  2. Plusgas, or whatever your favourite releasing fluid is. I find if you plan these jobs you will have time to spray the nuts and bolts for several days and they sometimes release.
  3. I don't think I've had a car where one of the heat shields has not rotted. As mentioned above, I've made large square washers out of sheet metal and sealed them with flue sealant I use on my wood burning stove. This I believe stops further rotting of the shield. Does a lovely job.
  4. The original post was, "I've got an IS220" It's been added to, hasn't it Glennyboy?

  6. Oh dear, First World Problems......what to do?
  7. Can't you ISF owners drive? Poor Lexus can't make them faster than you lot trash 'em.
  8. Never mind the mods, it'll breath better with a clean filter. The one you took out looks like it's been in the car from the factory. Yuk.
  9. Pepper spray, look on YouTube how to make it.
  10. I have metal ones on my car, they were a bit of a bugger to get off last time, they got a bit of lubrication slapped on them.
  11. I believe they're special on the CT, they are ergonomically, thermodynamically and aerodynamically different to the rest of the Lexus range. They also have a platinum insert to prevent wet air getting into the valve assembly. And I believe you have to buy a full set, you can't just replace one. £250 + vat last time I bought some for the wife's car, we've gone through about four sets now.
  12. Yep, I would be knocking on the dealers workshop shutter doors and handing them the keys, asking... "Who worked on the car, don't let him near it thanks"...
  13. I use GM Dexos 2, 5W 30, fully synthetic on all the families cars. Buy it for about £65 for a box of 4 x 5 litres at a local Vauxhall specialist.
  14. I didn't think it was difficult to tune any radio, they're mostly the same and intuitive once you've done one. Isnt it case of scanning/tuning, scroll to a station, press number one preset until it bleeps, repeat.
  15. Ask for an intermediate. That adds up to a lot of money......glad I do my own......:phew:
  16. Ah, makes no sense at all but I recall seeing that system before now you've mentioned it.
