  5. And many Lexus GS300h and some IS300H to when I was there two months ago. Diesel has gone out of favour in Paris.
  6. A set of Wagner Thermoquiet ceramic pads,new mounting clips and the correct grease on the guide pins has totally eliminated brake grunt on my GS300H. The guide pin grease is very important and often a copper or red rubber grease gets used neither of which is suitable for the guide pins. (correct grease is Molykote G3407 or TRW PFG110) I refused to accept Lexus dealer saying it was normal Ed.
  7. Valeo blades from Mr Auto are excellent. The Michelin stealths look ugly with the clip sitting proud of the arm. I prefer the sleek neat look of the OEM style. VM146 & VM152. Ed
  8. Purchase mats of your choice and buy a couple of Lexus fabric patches. Sew or glue them on. I did this on a previous car and it looked great.   9. Made by the same company the price/quality order is Mintex, Pagid, Textar. (Textar make many of the the OEM Lexus)
  10. I didn't contribute to this thread due to the one forum member who was involved & due to being so rude in past threads, is on my ignore list. This forum is friendly & informative until that one member starts on his over opinionated drivel. I have been on other forums and it is always one member who drags it down to their level & spoils it for everyone else. They must get a kick out of joining a forum and then slating whatever the forum is about. The pub bore who knows everything about everything but in reality knows nothing. Ed
  11. Well said & true for any car dealer no matter how expensive a suit the salesman has or how smart the showroom is. My next service at Lexus is going to be £450 for, ignoring inspecting things, an oil change and maybe new brake fluid. Robbery imho. I may well not bother and go to an independent. All they do is drive it into the Toyota workshop. My local Toyota dealer didn't say no when I asked if they would service the Lexus so may use them. If you want to treat your GS to a present I recommend a set of illuminated tread plates. They look superb. I ordered them from the USA for much less than Lexus UK wanted even after paying customs duty. Easy to fit yourself to. Ed
  12. The original owner may have added optional extras. Is there a sport & a sport+ on the mode switch? Blind spot detection is standard on Luxury spec. It does work on both sides though not just the drivers.
  13. Must be your imagination!! Pretty sure only the Fsport has adaptive dampers.
  14. I did the same move IS300H Fsport to GS Luxury. I found the Fsport suspension just to firm. No doubt you will love the GS. Blind spot monitor, auto electric hand brake and a more comfortable ride and what seems like even better build quality than the IS even the auto open sensor on all 4 doors. Quieter on the move to. Enjoy it great choice. Ed
  15. Yes noticed it in my GS. My previous IS had the Lexus boot protector I may get one for the GS but out of sight out of mind..................

  17. If you were involved in a rear end shunt then Lexus would no doubt sell you one. I doubt they would fail in normal use though. The IS has all LED rear clusters apart from the indicators & reversing lights. Even if you half the service life an LED it will last the lifetime of a car. In use for 10 hours a day then around 15 years. Do you drive 10 hours a day every day with your fog lights or any other light on?
  18. The rear fog light is several LED`s intergral to the light cluster. LED`s typically last for 50,000 hours. How many times have you used your rear fog lights? Running every day for 24 hours all day it would be 6 years of use!! They will never need replacing same as the rear lights brake lights etc!! I have not worked out why they still use incandescent bulbs for the revering & indicators though. Ed
  19. yes, one each reversing & fog. So maybe your revering light hasn't blown!!
  20. Only one required. Left side is reversing light,right side fog which is a non replaceable LED. Sent from my SM-G925F using Tapatalk
  21. Remove the plastic trim clips. Consider replacing the bulb with an LED equivalent. Brighter & longer life. W16W type.

  23. The rear brakes are not used very much with regenerative braking. The sequel on my GS was cured by a new set of pads & some Ceratec. I didn't pay Lexus prices just did it myself. it is very straight forward. Ed
