Think the 40K change is for the diff only - the CVT has no scheduled fluid change.

A colleague used webuyanycar to get rid of a very problematic Quashqai - primarily because he didnt want to sell it privately for fear of comeback (and the guilt). Was only about 3.5 years old with average miles - only knocked him back £50 when he took it in for some damage to the wing mirror he forgot to declare. Said it was a quick professional service. Chatting with the guy he said they get a lot of very unrealistic sellers come in who get a valuation stating no damage then get upset when obvious damage gets pointed out and the price reduced.

Potential head gasket failure

E10 has had an impact on my consumption - 48-50 before, but now more like 44-46. -
Using the remaining range to calculate consumption will always be hit and miss - its an estimate based on how much fuel you are using - transversely you might only loose 2 miles when you have covered 5 if you are using less than the average i.e going down a hill in EV

When will dealers be replaced by The Internet?
Mikey B replied to dutchie01's topic in Lexus Owners Club Lounge
Take a look at Teslas servicing recomendations https://www.tesla.com/en_GB/support/car-maintenance Nothing really beyond a cabin filter every 2 or 3 years and a brake fluid change - I'm sure the servicing schedules by the legacy manufacturers are being driven by the need to maintain the business model rather than a mechanical need. I think more will move online with manufacturers selling direct yet near my office they have just built a huge new Land Rover dealership and the new Toyota / Lexus dealership is going up claiming to be biggest in the UK (and a new petrol station next to it) -

For a second hand one on ebay - new from Lexus is £600!!!!! -
Do you mean you get no heat at any point, or just not when you start? As a climate control system the fans wont do much until the coolant starts to warm

Disappointed with first service
Mikey B replied to Bounce75's topic in Lexus IS 300h / IS 250 / IS 200t Club
Cant say I've been impressed with Lexus service. First time I tool my CT for a service (3 years old but full dealer history) they advised a minor oil leak - I suggested it was covered under the approved used warranty (bought from another dealer so they didn't know it was under cover). Told me oil leaks were not covered. Called the warranty provider who agreed it should be covered, so called dealer back to say it was covered and suddenly it was very minor so they would just clean and monitor next time it was in......over 3 years it was never mentioned again. Also failed to wash the car a few times as "ran out of time" or problem in the wash bay" so have just used my local indy for the IS at a fraction of the cost. I think Lexus are very good at the coffee and nice lounges plus the product is very reliable, but I imagine the tecs are just following a check list the same as kwik fit or any other servicing outfit -
Heated seats not getting as hot

Mine have 2 settings - first they just stay on where you set them (1,2 or 3) or they drop back down through 2 then 1 as the cabin warms - could it be yours are dropping back? -
Opinions - Can this puncture be repaired?
Mikey B replied to corpjones's topic in Lexus IS 300h / IS 250 / IS 200t Club
Pretty certain that will be classed as not repairable -
210K and nothing outside of servicing, a rain sensor (under warranty) and a bonnet catch. Still on the original 12v battery!

Highest Mileage in the UK

You've overtaken me now Jason - 210K sometime next week for me. Fancy a change, but it just keeps soldiering on giving around 50mpg and I guess it has little value now so I guess the sensible thing is to just carry on -
Increased Fuel Consumption following Full 60 Service

Have you checked the tyre pressures? I tend to run mine at the suggested pressure for fully loaded, but notice that they tend to set them to the lower number when its serviced- 19 replies

Does the air-con need re-gasing every two years?
Mikey B replied to P M R's topic in Lexus UX200, UX250, UX250h, UX300e Club
Someone technical may give a better view, but I've never bothered - I always make sure I run mine regularly. Its coming up to 7 years old now and still feels very cold to me. I don't re-gas my fridge and that works OK so I lean towards this being an extra revenue generator rather than a needed item -
Your not affected - its only models post 2017 - if you search for 2016 or earlier there are no recalls

Your age/ status is pretty much the same as mine, and I took out new insurance a couple of weeks ago. For an IS300h on 15K a year, second named driver and business use I paid £260. The 200t looks to only be 3 or 4 groups higher so something sounds wrong. Is your postcode high risk?

Well the 200K happened this week - couldn't capture the exact number though as my partner had the car when it clicked over. MOT today passed with no issues -

Servicing advice please
Mikey B replied to Pcoulter's topic in Lexus IS 300h / IS 250 / IS 200t Club
I agree that a full service is a lot more money for not much more, but looking at your service book the last full service was skipped, so its done 27K and almost 3 years since the last full service so with that in mind I would go full. For what its worth I've been using my local indy for servicing on mine (high mileage and will probably just run it until it has little value) - think I pay £140 ish for intermediate and about £250 for a full -
looking at getting my first Lexus - IS300h
Mikey B replied to gtanny's topic in Lexus IS 300h / IS 250 / IS 200t Club
That's cheap - My indy said they could only get the plugs for £113 for the set plus the labour - If yours are getting the plugs that cheap that's a bargain -

Gang - sounds like we are in the same position - I bought mine unseen speculatively on ebay - it was by far the cheapest I could find so given the full history I took a chance and it was worth it. In just over 2 years we have added 40K to it and there have been no bills beyond servicing and consumables which I think is pretty incredible for nearing 200K. At the moment my partner is using it far more than me and doing between 3 and 5 100 mile round trips a week and it just carries on with no fuss. Service light has just come on and realised I couldn't remember the last time I checked the oil level so pulled the stick and its still on Max and a bit yellowy - not black. I really want to go full EV, but the IS owes me nothing and just keeps going so cant justify the expense.......and I'm still on the original 12V!
