  1. I had Goodyear efficient grip last time and they did 28K - probably could have got a few k more out of them, but it was coming into winter and costco had some decent offers so running on Goodyear vector 4 seasons now which at £273 fitted for a full set was a bargain
  2. I'm nearing in on 200K - probably by the end of April. Only replacement outside of service / consumables in my ownership (40K) has been a bonnet catch. According to the online Lexus history it just had routine servicing and a rain sensor replaced under warranty. Still runs fine and I wouldn't hesitate to jump in and take it on any journey, although the ride is a little lumpy now and there are a few creaks from the interior. My desire is to go full EV soon, but as the IS probably has little value to anyone else now I will probably just keep running it for the foreseeable future
  3. One of mine has gone out to.......not cheap to replace :-(
  4. Assume you haven't had the hybrid heath check at Lexus? I'm on 194K now so wondering if this is about the time they start to fail or if its just pot luck
  5. Had my last service done at the local Indy - he rang me up and asked if I knew when the plugs were last done as he couldn't believe how expensive they were and wanted to check if they really needed doing - IIRC he said they were £120
  6. My lowly Exec spec is only £10 pa. Looking at list price I think it was only the Takumi that slipped into the higher band
  7. I cant really say if the price is fair, but I can see which car you are looking at - If it was me I would be tempted to spend the extra £1500 and get the 18 month newer facelifted Advance with 10K less miles at Derby. That said I picked mine up with 160K on it at 4 years old - difficult to price at the time as there was nothing to compare, but it was by far the cheapest IS and had full dealer history so I took a chance. 2 years and 30K later costs have been 2 sets of tyres, front discs and pads and a new bonnet latch so no complaints at all, so in response to your point 3 you should be good for the same mileage again
  8. I think 3rd parties being able to do it has become much more common - when I got my tyres replaced last month I noticed that Costco had a display of different tpms sensors
  9. I think that part of the issue is that Lexus dealers have such a good reputation that I expected more from them. Cheltenham not great when I bought my CT so never went back, but Bristol is my nearest anyway who I would describe as "OK" but not any better. Nice coffee and people, but last service while I waited took twice as long as promised so car didn't get washed as I didn't want to wait any longer, time before they had some issue that also prevented them washing the car plus issue with my service plan where they stopped collecting payment so it didn't cover the cost (I'm still waiting 2 years later for the call back to tell me how it was going to be resolved) - not big issues, but took the edge off, whereas before when I used VW I had no issues and the cost was lower Using my local indie garage now - they might not wash the car, but charge 50% less and are walking distance from home
  10. Just about to fit the same on mine - cheap as chips at the moment at Costco - how are you finding them? Currently running goodyear efficient grip and have had 28K out of them, but the rears are down to 2mm now
  11. I bought a 4 year old Executive with 160K on the clock - 1 company owner, very clean and tidy with full history - it was the cheapest IS I could find so took a chance - its now on 186K with nothing outside of servicing, set of tyres and new brake discs / pads. It really is a fantastically built car that would easily pass for a much lower mileage. I really fancy changing it for a full EV, but its been so faultless, and with the mileage it has more value to me than anyone else so I cant see me getting rid of it anytime soon. Regularly see 50mpg average even with my better half driving who is a little heavy footed - really not sure what else you can buy if you don't want diesel
  12. Took my opportunity to remind them when they called to say it was due a service!
  13. My IS is a 2014 and I'm on 185K - no issues with the battery
  14. My experience with Cheltenham was also pretty poor- Lexus asked me for feedback and I scored them fairly (think I gave them 3/5 in one area for the scratches they promised to repair but didn't) - dealer principal called me and left a slightly irate message wanting me to explain my score and call him back. Tried to call him on 2 occasions and both times he was busy but would call me back - never did
  15. Thanks found the bit I'm after is 53510-53090 - all ordered now
  16. My IS had developed a fault where the bonnet sometimes pops open at motorway speeds - I've played around with the latch and I think its just worn / weak as if I pull upwards enough on the bonnet the latch just pops open. Changing the latch looks easy enough, but I cant find the part number to order a new one - can anyone point me in the direction of somewhere I can find the part numbers - would prefer to not ask my nearest dealer as its a bit of a trek and past experience has not been great
  17. Thanks for the suggestions - I'm going with the CD slot mount. I use my phone for google maps in the car, the standard nav is pretty poor - usually tells me there is traffic when I'm already stuck in it!
  18. I'm just coming up to 170K with no major issues, in fact the only repairs outside of servicing / consumables have been a bonnet latch, and an auto wiper sensor
  19. Looking for a phone holder / mount for the IS. Would like something that fits down by the heated seat buttons - any suggestions?
  20. Warmer weather has made quite a big difference. I did Southampton to Bristol last week - mixture of stop start traffic and fast motorway, air con on My usual commute is 14 miles, but mostly uphill on the way, down on the way back - usually just above 50 in the morning and 60+ in the afternoon
  21. I cant comment on the UX, but I had a CT200h which was keen to rev, but am now in an IS300h. The IS accelerates a lot more quickly with less revs. Unless I really mash it there is rarely need to exceed 2.5K so I think this will be similar to your ES experience unless you have a very heavy foot
  22. If its an Executive then its the 6 speaker. I came out of a CT200h with the premium system and I was a little surprised how lacking the IS system is
  23. I sold my CT at 150K, but it had been needing a top up between services since I bought it at 100K. When it dropped to the min mark I would add 1 ltr and that was enough to get through to the next service, so I guess it was using 2 ltrs every 10K. It was pretty consistent and never got any worse in the 50K I drove it
